Quick poll. How many of you have some idiot at work that's gonna be late Monday and blame it on time change?

I did have a parent who missed team pictures yesterday for my daughter soccer team claim it was because of the time change (pictures were at 1 in the afternoon)....

Morning guys. It is supposed to be nice in most of the Midwest so I am looking forward to getting out and enjoying some sunshine today :thumbsup2

Back in the office today and it is freezing up here. I think I going back to Florida.

‘Morning… **yawn** all…
The extra hours of sunlight are useful, but I’ll be till mid-summer trying to get adjusted to constantly being out of sync with the actual time. The shift forward always makes me feel like ****.

A good plan to be sure, but try it from our point of view …
I am also back at work and it’s absolutely beautiful outside.
But… I’m “at work” so the wonderful weather is useless and only mocks me and tortures the sole.

Might as well be in the arctic.
:sad2:

Look at the bright side(as hard as it is to realize sometimes), you have a job. That is something to be thankful for. :smokin:

BTW, you all unpacked yet? popcorn::

All right… you get a point for that one….
Employment does beat the alternative; just wish my employment was a might less relentlessly depressing.

As for the move, we actually got everything into the house and got rid of the storage locker. Most all of it has been gone through as well (and there is plenty in the attic now to be sure). There are only a couple of small piles of boxes stacked up in the far corners of the dining room and den waiting for a planned spring time yard sale, but most everything else either has a home or has been gotten rid of. Quite the undertaking. DW said to me the other day that although she frets about getting rid of stuff (because she feels like someone it taking things away from her), once it actually leaves the house, she feels relived. That’s a major win right there.

Repairs and upgrades on the new “old” house continue, but were making good progress. Floors and carpets are next on the agenda there.

It was a great weekend in Minnesota. Snow is melting fast. Had to scoop some away from the house to be safe. Woke up and 34 deg and sunny. Bought some more patio furniture.

We leave to the World in 1 day! Summer starts tomorrow.

Sounds like you are almost done.:thumbsup2
You planning on selling the old house or are you going to rent it out?

I need to clean out my attic. Crap keeps ending going up there and nothing ever comes down. :sad2:

Good afternoon gentlemen.

The kids have spring break this week and what better way to kick it off than DD getting strep. I'll take her to the minute clinic in town when it opens this afternoon. Right now she's fine just a sore throat and fever.

The glaciers are melting fast around here. This keeps up and the golf courses might be opening by the end of the month.

He competed in the Tech Bowl and Engineering Design. He took 2nd in state for engineering design so now it looks like he may be going on to nationals with his team in Washington DC the end of June.
Congrats.

Have fun storming the castle.

The snow pulled all the down spouts off. I have to keep an eye on the house but so far no flooding.

We are getting closer to having it all done by the day. Baby steps, one issue at a time, but it’s getting progressively better. We already sold the old “newer – bigger” house and plowed about 80% of the proceeds into driving down the mortgage on the new “older-smaller” one. The remainder is being used to solve the problems with the little ranch-house we acquired (paint everything, fix plaster, stabilize foundation, repoint old or cracked brick mortar, replace all light fixtures and faucets…)

A good bit of the “stuff” has gone into the attic, but near as much went out the door or got sold off. About half of what’s up there now is seasonal and bits of it does come down when we get near to the related holiday or season. The other half is long term storage, but it’s far less then we were keeping in the old house’s basement.

Sorry you got one under the weather and during the break as well. May that heal up quickly.

You lost the downspouts to the snow! That is certainly not something I’ve ever had to deal with.
Hopefully the repairs won’t be too costly.

Crud! Missed meeting Barry and his family this weekend. Jodi was sick and then we had to take her Mom to the ER. She has a lung infection, so they plugged in an iv to give her antibiotics. Well MIL has dementia and doesn't understand why she is there. She's isn't sick. So, what does she do, pulls out the iv, a number of times. The nurses are pissed. I'm sure by now, they have her strapped now. :lmao: She's getting better, so we have that going for us.

Barry, sorry we missed you.

:scratchin That's just crazy enough to work.

Wait a sec. Part of the reason she's willing to do this is because of the APs we bought in December. She likes to get her money's worth- it makes her feel like she's getting back at the mouse for all the money he's taken from me. The last thing she'd want to do is shell out more money for tickets.

If you go in January, you both can be part of my team,
"Team Rolling Thunder, There's Beer At The End!"

Monday Afternoon ownage!!!!

Well, DS won his game in the morning, but we lost last night so we are eliminated from our title run. DS had 2 good games scoring 21 and 16 points respectively. In the morning game he scored 18 straight. Everyone asked where we got the HGH when the game as over.:lmao::lmao: Now the seasons are over and I get a break for a few weeks.:thumbsup2 Time to earn my Team Sparrow membership and sit not he couch and drink for a while.

Morning Guys,

we made it home last night around 9. Long day of travel but it was great to sleep in my own bed! Overall we had a great trip, even with only one Disney day. Had a few first, IoA, spring training game and a round of golf in the sunshine state. The rest of the week was nice and relaxing. Now to start a countdown to our adults only cruise in July.

We managed to get home in time for Declan's 13th birthday. He says he doesn't feel any different.

Welcome home! Happy Birthday to Declan!

He competed in the Tech Bowl and Engineering Design. He took 2nd in state for engineering design so now it looks like he may be going on to nationals with his team in Washington DC the end of June.

Congrats to him!

Quick poll. How many of you have some idiot at work that's gonna be late Monday and blame it on time change?

It's a little late, but what I was going to say was: When you get into work, look around. If no one is that idiot, then it is probably you.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Milestone day.

DS got his first shiner. Nothing noble though, he was on the neighbors trampoline and landed wrong. Should be a beauty but no good story to go with it.

DD also asked a question at the dinner table and when I said "It is the dot at the end of sentence", she said "that isn't what I mean". :headache: SWMBO needs to have a talk with her. :rolleyes1 I has hoping we could at least make it until she was 10 before we started having these types of questions. :sad2:

Ouch and OUCH!?! Seriously, we already had that discussion. My DD11 has already figured out that those types of discussions are the easiest way to get me to leave her alone.:scared:

Yeah, not sure if the plan is to stop giving them out. They gave out those KTTW cards, never asking for them back. Who knows. I didn't think about changing the names for the bands. I just went with the same color and everything. There is still time for the October trip.

Yeah it was just an idea I had..... Haven't decided if I want to or not. I'm still thinking about if I want to get a new color or one I already have. It means for this trip we would have 11 magic bands.

Chain them together and decorate the Christmas Tree with it!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Love this idea I need to talk DW into it.

Sorry to hear about your MIL, Randall. Hope she gets better soon. I can report Barry was sorry to miss you as well, even though he said something about you "ditching him for your in-laws"...

Anyway, I can report that we met up with Barry and family and had a great time with them yesterday. Even though there's nothing to do in Delaware.:thumbsup2

Looks nice outside form my window. When I got up this morning it was ^$#$%^& snowing again.:headache::mad::mad: Luckily it stopped and it's cloudy, but bright. We had some melting yesterday, but still a REALLY big pile. Hopefully we'll be melted in a couple of weeks so I can start warming up for golf season.

College Spring Break this week. DDs spring break next month. I don't know why they just can't ever match them together.

No ADRs other than Ranglan Road?

You like beer in the end? Team Sparrow likes to drink beer through the mouth. Whatever works for you Randall. :crazy2:

As soon as she suggested the AP's, I knew I could get her there and extra time in the fall. Are you there Oct 3-4? A chance to meet you would be a clincher for DW. If CJ is there, he would hold the distinction of being the only Disdad I will have met twice. .

Yes, we arrive on Oct 4. We won't do a park that day, but usually schedule a character breakfast. We are staying at the Boardwalk. I was thinking CJ was also there that day, but it may have been towards the end of the trip.

The Cards just put an old fashioned butt whipping on the Huskies. That was one ugly game. :crazy2:

From my perspective, it was a really great game.
