OK dads, it's scary time in our household. DD had been not been feeling well off and on. Found out it is cramps and she has become a young lady:eek::headache::scared::scared::crazy2: (family board). I guess my little girl is growing up. I have now instituted a 5 yard opposite sex penalty area around her. Any boy found within the boundary will be swiftly removed and punished for his crimes.:thumbsup2 Talk about needing prayers and a support group. Was hoping for a few more years before having to deal with this one.

Yep… Storm clouds are a brewing.
Has she declared war on her mother yet or are you hoping to be spared that rite of passage?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo...

I'm going to be in the same boat. Actually, I'm looking at the possibility of a sleep-deprived infant, a post-partum mom, and a pre-teen girl going through puberty all in the same house at the same time.

Anyone want to adopt me for the year? I can do chores.

They figured out what causes all of that a little while back you know…
Besides, you couldn't make it without them more than a day or two and you know it.

;)

I guess you win! I only have the one issue to deal with right now. Maybe we can come up with a reason to live at WDW for the next few years until things calm down.:lmao::lmao:

Reason? We don’t need on stinkin’ reason….

We just need the funds to make it possible.
:rotfl:

Today is the day we usually take down all the christmas decor, throw out the tree, etc...

It's making for an interesting day as I combine that with doing all the last minute laundry and prepping for leaving tomorrow.

I think the outside decorations and lights may stay out until we return.

Yikes. Are you talking about the 10 yr old in your sig? My daughter turned 9 last week and I don't want to think that I'm only a year or so away from that. The mood swings are bad enough at 9.

Windows with frost inside? Us too! Crazy! But, I made it into work - and everyone is calling off sick....imagine that, it's -10 degrees outside and they don't want to come in, I don't blame them!
People did yesterday, done others today. I am pretty sure nothing will prevent the government from keeping us closed if there is money that can be had.

I'll come bail you out right after I take pictures of you behind bars.:rotfl2::rotfl2: On a serious note, scares me every day to even think about whom my DD may bring home. Luckily no interest in boys yet even though friends have "boyfriends" already. I think it has a lot to do with kids being active in sports. It seems the ones that are not start the relationship things earlier.

I think we are getting close to this issue but not yet. I pray for you though.

Ya nemie. Will you shut the darn door. You're letting all the cold from your state out into ours!'
Blame Canada
I tried but can't think of any way to do it.

It is so cold up there I can't even taunt you guys with the weather here. As a side note, wind chill is going to be 35-40 tonight and the news is warning people how to prepare for the cold snap. Hey people, it is going to be in the 80's in a couple of days. Sad.

Sorry, too cold to mow the lawn. (OK, I broke the won't taunt rule for Tim). Also since I am leaving early tomorrow for WDW, the fridge is cleaned out including all tofu products. BAM, MIKE DROP!

We also know people with access to land that needs fertilizing and equipment to dig deep holes so we can always make a run up there. I would like three holes dug for the boyfriend and the parents. AN UPDATE: Other arraignments were made so we will not be driving her up. I told the twin's mom it would not be a problem but they figured something else out.

Next Post: From Walt Disney World.
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 <------------------NOT THUMBS!!!!
Morning

Crazy, we've had more snow then we usually do, even was a white Christmas here. Ice Storms, extreme cold, snow, we've seen it all, and it's only early January.

Freezing cold here again, my windows have a layer of frost on the inside.
We have that too. We've got an air to air exchanger to keep moisture off the windows. I've found its not really effective below zero.
This is where that song "Blame Canada" begins playing in my head. Brrrr
:thumbsup2

I've got a little girl wanting to pick out double barrel sling shots. I don't want to think of how close that is.

Ok, so I have to ask. What is a flash freeze warning? We have flash floods around here but I have never heard of a flash freeze.

Well Christmas IS just 11 months away...

This past year I left the lights that outlined the house on all year long. It made it convenient to come from Thanksgiving at the in-laws and just plug them in to the extension cord (also still there all year). Instant Christmas lights!!

Those darn snowmen, penguins, reindeer, etc... that's another story.

It seems to me that you have that thing to take care of out in the garage and it's going to take all of your evenings and most of your weekends for the next year to take care of.

LOL… You should se me at the end of the season mowing when the leaves are still frozen to the ground. Fun times.

Oh, and I hope you didn't hurt poor Mike.

Why would people call in? Aren't you only outside for a minute or 2 to walk to the car/office?

::yes::

That's very specific. Tim could learn a thing or two from you.
He must have insider info.

That ain’t nothin’. It’s 27 up in Anchorage at the moment, and that’s above our predicted high for the day.

That’s just whacky.
Nutz!

Oh boy.. sorry to hear that. Get ready for more grays.

I tried to go to the drive-through ATM this morning. My car window was frozen shut. :headache:
Hopefully your catalytic converter was frozen to your car too.

Geez… Mine is 7 and I thought she was going to grow out of the mood swings. :faint:

Hi guys. 2 days away from heading down for DDCCII. :thumbsup2
Shut it.

Why would people call in? Aren't you only outside for a minute or 2 to walk to the car/office?

It's more that they can't get out of their driveway or the roads are too drifted....and then some people are just wusses.

Oh and it doesn't help that our roads look like a hockey rink!

I guess I need to update the sig. DD turned 11 in October. I thought I still had at least 2 years before having to deal with this.

Mood swings? I'm not sure those ever stopped in our house. Overall, she has taken it in stride, but it certainly scares the you-know-what out of a guy.:headache:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: No, the mood swings don't really go away, they just seem to become more unpredictable as they get older. The good news is I'll have the wisdom to help you guys through it. Well, that's assuming I don't go to jail for having firearms lying around when the boys show up.:thumbsup2

It's all part of global warming. Don't worry it's all in your imagination.

It is still really too freakin cold here. The consecutive days off work streak ended at 18.

Are we supposed to be sharing this stuff? It is still safe here. Ok, enough of that. No more talking about that, EVER !!!!!! :crazy2:

Wow, that sounds like way more fun. We're still talking about it. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

Well Christmas IS just 11 months away...

Disney trips are closer.

Ok, so I have to ask. What is a flash freeze warning? We have flash floods around here but I have never heard of a flash freeze.

Something else invented so the weatherman have even more to talk about. It's cold. Segment over.

.

That is mean. Should we start making fun of hurricane destruction in Florida?

Good morning. Day 3 of the winter storm from hell. I actually got my butt out of bed, and drove to work despite the drifting snow and ridiculous cold temperatures and the fact that the county I work in was under an emergency travel only order... after calling in to see if I had to go first, of course. I was there for about 20 minutes before they told us to go home. Spending today at home too. So as much as the weather sucks outside, it is a beautiful day to be sitting in my lazy boy watching Mulan on the Disney channel with the kids..

I had to drive to a campus - 75 miles away - and I had to scrape the inside of my windows while I was driving. I had the defrost on max and they still froze.

I tried to go to the drive-through ATM this morning. My car window was frozen shut. :headache:

At least you have money in your account.

We've had some crazy weather this year too. Colder than average and not a lot of snow. We've been on the edge of each storm that has come through. My parents 50 miles north and my sister 90 miles south have both received over double the snow we've had. There's barely enough for the kids to sled on here.

No snow here either. Just cold.

We need to get a pool going to have Brent send you a care package.

Hmmm might need to "write off" a lot of inventory. Then again I'm always looking to pans off my PBR

Just say the penguins are as is, and the reindeer are actually moose and the snowman is Rob Ford and now it's a Canada Diarama.

That's all it takes for some people I work with.

I am sure DW will teach my girls in the art of mood swings.

Mood swings definitely do not go away. They only grow in intensity. My 13yo will be lucky to live long enough to teach my 6yo how not to act.

So it was a little cold out today +2 with wind chill of -15:scared1:

Yes it was cold, but this is my reality EVERYDAY:eek: People were coming in complaining about the cold, all I'm thinking is Suck it up Buttercup this is nothing new here, I did get off a few what are you going to do when it gets really cold out :confused3(that was the reality check so they remember who they are talking to:lmao:)

Even though after working 27yrs in the cold, I still hate it , if I moved to Fla it would probably take a couple years for me to defrost completely:rolleyes1:rotfl2:
