Happy Hours No More?

Technically there is a "wine at dinner package". I would not recommend it, but it is there.
Why wouldn't you recommend it? (My friend and I did one on the Treasure earlier this year and were glad we did, so honestly curious for alternative opinions . . ._

Same question why not? It's cheaper than by the glass.
I don't recall the specifics (we did it in early February), but when my friend and I did the math we felt it was a good deal (meaning, it was cheaper to do the package than to order glasses at dinner each night).

I don't remember the math now but I remember talking about it so I'd be surprised if we did the package knowing we'd spend more per glass . . .

It may have been the bottles that we purchased, but we found that it wasn't a very good deal - particularly on the Wish when we sailed. Rather than just buying the bottles we wanted each night (or not buying any bottles). I'd imagine I might have felt differently on a longer cruise.

I think that the wine choices available in the wine packages are the same across the DCL fleet. For both the Classic and Premium package, it takes careful planning and selection to get the best value out of the purchase, since only a few wines in each category have by-the-bottle prices that exceed the average cost per bottle for the package. After being told that my selected wine was not available onboard and having to settle for a “recommended substitute” bottle that would have been less expensive had I simply purchased it at the by-the-bottle price, I have stopped trying the wine packages.

Since DW doesn’t drink alcohol, I usually drink a bottle of wine over two nights in the MDRs. The assistant server takes the half-full bottle to the next dining room and serves it there. I do prefer buying bottles rather than wine by the glass, since I find the wine pours for single glasses to be rather skimpy. I think that’s true quite generally for restaurant wine service by the glass, since they target getting at least five glasses from a 750 ml bottle. I think some of the bartenders try to stretch this to six glasses per bottle, making wine by the glass a very poor value indeed. At home, I use a 375 ml carafe to portion a half-bottle, saving the second half for later consumption. Onboard, I have to instruct the assistant server (and sometimes an efficient server) that I will tell them when to stop refilling my glass, since they have a tendency to top up the glass as they pass by the table. If you leave it to them, it would be easy to go through an entire bottle in a single sitting.

My guess is if a drink package is to be coming it would include all drinks - water, coffee, smoothies, and soda. A package would probably mean the end of “free” soda.

I’ve been on cruise lines that offer packages and seen about the same number of intoxicated cruisers as I do on Disney.

I just got off the Fantasy this morning and did not see any happy hours listed in the app. Granted I didn't find the app to be all that user friendly, and I'm an elder millennial so generally able to figure things out. But I feel relatively confident in stating that none were offered.
