I miss the drinks passport they used to have in Skyline Lounge.

Except NCL...No limit on price or amount with their new "More at Sea".I am sure there would be. Most cruise lines set that limit at 15 drinks per day.
I will agree with this, on the Treasure the Rose was the bar that was always the least busy. Because of the NCAA basketball the Periscope pub was busy with everyone watching the games. The Haunted mansion bar was always busy with the exception of pirate night where for a few hours there were only 6 cruisers in the bar. I had fun chatting with the bartenders that night. I found out that they rotate what bar or cafe they work at every 2-3 weeks depending on their position so it doesn’t get as monotonous.I think the drinks are a reasonable charge on DCL in general, and the happy hour was an extraordinary deal... But I think it was done because they could still make a decent profit and justify having the bar open - that was our experience on our September magic cruise.... Both the Sports Bar and Keys were totally empty in the evenings. The Happy Hours at least brought a few other sailors into the room with us and made for some memorable conversations and made the wait staff feel like there was a reason they were working...
I found on both Wish cruises we did the opposite to be the case - Nightingales was always full, Star Wars pub was always packed, Bayou was overflowing... the one exception was Keg and Compass, which, while busy was never "full" when we walked by.
I enjoyed the drink package on Royal. I don't know if I got my money's worth out of, but I enjoyed the convenience. The bottled water is such a big plus along with getting good coffee. Royal runs specials and discounts on their drink packages which can make it worth it. I have a hard time seeing DCL running black Friday or president day sales on drink packages. That's not a how DCL operates. If they offer them they will most likely be super expensive.Just as a reminder... Drink packages on other lines ALSO include bottled water, specialty coffees, smoothies, etc. It's not ALL alcoholic beverages.
This is why I don’t sail on NCL anymore. We took an Alaskan cruise with them and it was full of drunks all day and night. I really hope DCL doesn’t do a drinks package for this reason. Or cap it at two a day.Except NCL...No limit on price or amount with their new "More at Sea".
I wouldn’t say most, I know princess and carnival limit, but not ncl, rcl.I am sure there would be. Most cruise lines set that limit at 15 drinks per day.
Who the heck would buy a 2 drink a day package? Just buy 2 drinks. Packages are designed for folks who definitely drink more than 2 drinks a day. This is why I don’t sail on NCL anymore. We didn't experience that last June on the Encore. This is why I don’t sail on NCL anymore. We took an Alaskan cruise with them and it was full of drunks all day and night. I really hope DCL doesn’t do a drinks package for this reason. Or cap it at two a day.
There are plenty of drunk parents/adults on Disney. It's not a party boat but it's not completely dry either so I'm not sure where the smugness comes from.Who the heck would buy a 2 drink a day package? Just buy 2 drinks. I’m not advocating fir a drink package, just saying a drink package capped at 2 would be like offering a buffet with 2 options. There are plenty of drunk parents/adults on Disney. It's not a party boat but it's not completely dry either so I'm not sure where the smugness comes from.
I mean I was on Utopia earlier this year where it's marketed as a party boat and didn't run into any of that. Families had just as much fun as they do elsewhere. This is why I don’t sail on NCL anymore. We took an Alaskan cruise with them and it was full of drunks all day and night. I’m still seeing Happy Hour on a recent sailing on the Wonder in March on disneycruiselineblog.com
Maybe they aren’t cancelled?
Very sad. I hope some repeat cruisers placed that in the comments. My bigger concern is that they will result in operating the bars with fewer hours on the classic ships.Likely just not yet. They definitely were not on the Magic at all last week.
