You haven't posted in weeks…. great time for you to show up.

I started hearing 'Taps' after I read the first sentence.Over the years, it seems that my minivan has received something of a cult following around here. There were rumors of it being fueled by everything from a Mr. Fusion to a custom methane gas-powered rocket engine. There have been claims that it's acceleration rivaled that of attack aircraft launching off the deck of the USS Carl Vinson. I even recall reading that someone's cousin's best friend's post man heard from his daughter's pre-school teacher that it had supersonic abilities and set several land speed records. The wildest one, of course, was that it was not of materials found on this planet.
Well, I will neither confirm nor deny any of those rumors. I will however, tell you that it's mothership came last week, beckoning it home. At DW's insistence, It has been replaced with a Toyota Highlander.
Now, where'd I put my tools and those old blueprints....

Thanks for the lesson. Can't understand why that is relevant in any curriculum.Slip-Slop-Slap is the iconic and internationally recognised sun protection campaign prominent in Australia during the 1980s. Launched by Cancer Council Victoria in 1981,[1] the Slip! Slop! Slap! campaign features a singing, dancing Sid Seagull encouraging people to reduce sun exposure and protect themselves against an increased risk of skin cancer.[2] Sid had Australians slipping on long sleeved clothing, slopping on sunscreen and slapping on a hat. This successful program was funded by public donations.
Rather silly, but it was meant to address a serious issue. Skin cancer is becoming more common amongst those of us that remembered playing outside when we were young. The youth of today will probably have to deal with carpal tunnel, gamer's thumb, and hemorrhoids.
I don't have to worry about this with DS as he doesn't want to go outside (if he didn't look like me, SWMBO would have some explaining to do), but DD loves being outside so she has already been told to use common sense and not get sunburned excessively.
:Edit: I guess it might be relevant in Australia.
You must be Australian.![]()

Glad you made it back safely. Hope they get to the bottom of it…. sending prayers.Luckily I was able to outrace the storm and arrived in Miami around noon. On the way up I drove 1,300 miles without stoping except for short cat naps in the car. On the way back it was around 1,000 miles before I stopped in Daytona. The Holiday Inn had a convention of Terminix people and it was the start of Bike Week. Interesting night at the bar. A gathering of paunchy, middle aged, white guys, half in green polo shirts and kaki pants, the other half in leather jackets. Interesting and very different conversations.
The kid flies home late Thursday and I am trying to set up an appointment with a specialist for Friday. They are sure her issues are neurological in nature and one of the tests will be a spinal tap. Tough week and I am beat. Decided to make meatloaf and roasted potatoes for dinner tonight. Probably only the second home cooked meal I had in three weeks.
