In about 2 1/2 weeks I'm going to a more interesting Gift Auction for breast cancer, it starts off as a fishing tournament (will be working during that part:crazy2:) then it goes into a BBQ with the Budweiser Girls there followed by a Gift Auction, I don't know what the prizes are but I will be looking over many things regardless:rolleyes1:rotfl:

You wouldn't have a link or info on any of these auctions, would you? We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and these always sound very cool when you talk about them.

Morning guys.:coffee:
I missed a couple of days and ended up 15 pages behind; so I am going to just skip to the end and rejoin the conversation here.

Morning.....is it me, or are the boards lagging a little? Maybe its just me..:faint:

Morning Guys.

Sent DS off on his first school trip this morning. We are kid-free until Sunday night. :cool1:

This morning was suppose to be a quiet one here at work but in the first 30 minutes I scheduled 2 meetings for later today. :cool1:

Have a good one.

Sounds like a blast...enjoy the weekend!

BBQ with the Budweiser Girls. Sounds like a good time to me! :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Morning guys. Tough loss by the Pacers.
I wasn't able to see the game, but judging by the thousands of rants on Facebook this morning, I take it that Vogel screwed up by leaving Hibbert on the bench at the end. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

We are set for our food/bake sale:

75 Chick Fil A sandwiches donated
Chips
Hot dogs
2 dozen lemon cookies
2 dozen chocolate chip bars
4 dozen brownies
4 dozen specialty brownies
3 dozen regular chocolate chip cookies
35 cupcakes

And enough pop to put an entire city into diabetic coma :thumbsup2
Sounds awesome! :thumbsup2

Good Morning gentlemen!

By the way....Florida is "hotter then sin" right now (I just had my AC serviced in preparation) is what looks like one of the hotter summers. If you fellas are headed to Disney in the next few months...

BE PREPARED!

Morning Guys.

This morning was suppose to be a quiet one here at work but in the first 30 minutes I scheduled 2 meetings for later today. :cool1:

“If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be 'meetings.”

Neighbors are goods. Barry said it right. You can use your 150 at the 11 month window at AKV and you can use your 25 points at BLT at the 11 month window. You could use both combined at the 7 month window for any resort. What many do, with those smaller contracts, is go every 3 years (bank,UY, borrow) and have 75 at BLT to book at the 11 month window. Then, if you wanted a longer vacation, add in the AKV points afterwards af AKV afterwards. Then, at the 7 month mark, see if there are any days you can cancel AKV and book at BLT. IF BLT was all booked, then you could still stay the 75 points work at BLT, and then move over for additional days at AKV. While Disney will move your bags for you, you still have to pack them and unpack them.
We usually come up with 2 plans for each vacation. It always includes booking our home resort (Saratoga Springs) at 11 months out, so we always have that to fall back on. Then at 7 months, I call and switch that reservation to the resort we really wanted to stay at for that vacation. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I get wait-listed. We don't go a peak time (Christmas, Easter, etc) so I think every one of our waitlists have come through.

That's the attitude. We threaten to divorce each other from time to time, with the biggest threat being the other parent gets stuck with custody of the children. The real story is "September - 13 years of marriage and are too tired to get a divorce". How's that sound for a t-shirt? :lmao:
I forget where I heard the quote, but an old couple was talking about how they stayed married for so long. It was because neither of them wanted to get divorced at the same time.

The 4th is Hunter's Birthday was going to have a little party at Capt. Cooks around 7pm, Dole Whips all around:woohoo:
I'll pencil that in and see what we can do. :thumbsup2

A few pics...

One for Dave. Pretty Spartan.
CJ - you're at Animal Kingdom. The entire outside is a bathroom. Umm...I've heard. :rolleyes1

The Pirate Princess' lunch today. A noodle bowl with coconut encrusted Tofu.
^^That Word and this word vv
Belong no where near each other. At least until someone actually invents a sarcasm font.

I had the corn chowder and the Cobb's salad (appetizer size). Nice lunch.
That always reminds me of the line from Field of Dreams:
"Ty Cobb wanted to play. But none of us could stand the son of a $*#%@ when we were alive so we told him to stick it!"

I did manage to find an arrowhead out in my plots. It was about 80% intact and the nicest one I have found yet so the day wasn't a total wash out.
Holy crap! Who's shooting at you?!?

Morning guys. Tough loss by the Pacers.

4 dozen specialty brownies
Care to tell us exactly how "special" these brownies are? :hippie:

Most of them I find out about from the newspaper or word of mouth, but I do find out about some on a website - trickytray.com

Meetings - Without them, how could management justify large salaries for doing nothing.

Meetings - When you have nothing do and need people to talk to.

We've never had a bad vacation at any resort, but we certainly like some more than others. I would like to go to WDW each month of the year (half way there), but don't plan to ever be there for Christmas or Easter.

Morning guys.:coffee:
I missed a couple of days and ended up 15 pages behind; so I am going to just skip to the end and rejoin the conversation here.

You'll miss all our intelligence. I might have had another great business idea back there.

I wasn't able to see the game, but judging by the thousands of rants on Facebook this morning, I take it that Vogel screwed up by leaving Hibbert on the bench at the end. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

It was a good game and tough loss for Pacers. No team had more than a 10 point lead, and it stayed close the whole game. Indiana's 32' 3-pointer was chance enough to get them to OT. As for that last play, if the coach had put Hibbert in the game and Lebron passes to Bosh for a game winning shot, then he would still get criticism. I think the bigger issue was that he went on record saying the Pacers wouldn't make adjustments to the Heat, and then he made an adjustment.

BE PREPARED!

I'm usually prepared for anything when we head down there, weather wise. Last October we were in sweltering heat, January of 2010 I remember being below 15 degrees at the start of the marathon, and all the other trips have been somewhere in between! :rotfl2:

As prepared as we are going to be...I suspect I'll recycle my bit from last August trip, where every shop we entered I'd exclaim to the girls "BEST SHOP EVER!" :rotfl2:

Milestone Alert:

Garreth graduates from Pre-K today (Really? I mean, Really? Graduates with a cap and gown?:confused3) and Momma is not taking it well:sad1:;):lmao:
Grandparents coming in, the whole shebang.

I, of course, am the bad guy because I'm working today (and I'm teaching an Explosives Threats class, which means I get to blow some stuff up--which is awesome and I'm, understandably jazzed about it)...

I took off tomorrow for their little field day, then we're headed to Charleston for some spoiling by my mom (him, not me) and some fishing up at Lake Moultrie (me and him), pool and cookout included.

Monday I'm presenting at a Flag Ceremony at the National Cemetary.

Hope you guys have a great Holiday Weekend. Don't forget why we have the day off:thumbsup2

Happy Friday Eve!

Unfortunately, I don't have the family I could take with me. As for friends, I haven't had those requests yet. I have mixed thoughts on this one - it is nice for friends to spend time together but it also nice for family to spend time together. What age were your children when they started bringing friends? Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
Teenage years, been the last 2 or 3 with DD bringing a friend who is basically part of the family as they have been best friends since 1st grade. We still do just the 4 of us as well but as the kids older / more independent, especially the girls, they are not as likely to want to hang 24/7 with mom & dad as much.

Congrats to the little guy and for what you do and thanks for the reminder about the reason for the 3 day weekend.

Lazy start this morning. Feel rested and refreshed. Nothing but playing around today and letting the fates take us where it will.

Well, don't like that you missed TSM, but it is still the one that everyone runs for at DHS. I think the Star Tours is better, but we still plan to do TSM at least once. DW will not go on ToT anymore, but we all go on the RNRC.

Sorry I missed TSM but it will be there the next time. ToT is one of my favorites and we did that twice with little wait.

Good job with Aaron on the podcast. Enjoyed listening to it out on the balcony early this morning. The Ankole seemed to also enjoy it.

Is your dd now a vegetarian? Did I see tofu? Is tofu allowed on these threads? Anyway, have fun at the 24 hour day.

^^That Word and this word vv

Yes, that was tofu. She became a veg head in the 8th grade. My one failing in her upbringing. As long as she doesn't carp on me on being a carnivore and has a balanced diet, I am OK with that.

And Barry, tongue was firmly in cheek. Once and only once did she get me to try some tofu thing. Nearly threw up and had to spit it out.

thanks for pictures on the bathroom cj. I think that is a kohler welworth 1.6 flush if im not mistaken.:lmao::thumbsup2

But will it flush a chicken?

Morning guys. Tough loss by the Pacers.

Depends on your perspective.

We were headed to the MK last night but decided to get take out at Mara and stay home and watch the game. Blasphemy I know but I am glad we did. Had a great time. Not just because it was an enjoyable game and the Heat won but we just sat on the couch talking about things. Best father/daughter face time since before she went to school last fall.

We are set for our food/bake sale:

Good luck! If I was anywhere near you, I would be scarfing down. Care to deliver?

I thought you learned from your last visit that Disney frowns on guests treating the Savanna as "facilities."

Congrats to the G-man. Now that he is entering Kindergarten, remind him that things he does will now go on his permanent record. Blowing things up, BBQ and fishing. Sounds like an interesting weekend.

And thanks to you and everyone who has served their country. This coming weekend is for all of you.

Time to head out for another Disney day!

Got to go in for a doctors appointment today, need to refill my meds. Fully expecting to get yelled at for the usual stuff (weight etc). Then off to work... What a fun day...:rotfl2:

We were 18 years this month and started dating 20 years ago. I told her if she can make another 8 years I will have been with her as long as not so I might as well keep her at that point. :duck:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm going to use that one.

You get her a $200 pair of diamond earrings. She gets you $200 worth of beef, bacon, and beer. I like that as a starting point for negotiations.

Can you see the diamond in a $200 pair of earrings?:rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm guessing by 20 years we'll be buying each other separate vacations as gifts.:lmao::lmao: We don't threaten divorce, but I have certainly threatened to go on a REALLY long business trip and leave her home alone with the kids.
