Thanks for the wishes and prayers..... As for an update.... No news yet, still the status quo. Still really, really busy. Store looks like it was hit by a hurricane or a Brazilian Tour Group. I think all our staff is in now, we'll see what it looks like out there when I come off lunch.

Hi everyone. Looks like I'm 20 pages behind. Hope all is well with everyone. I've taken the last few days of from the office job and been working on the farm. Just finished a 16 hour day and laying in bed unable to sleep. We've been racing the rain and I hear thunder right now. Only 70 acres of corn left to plant, but it is wet ground that we just worked up this evening and it needs to get some more air and be worked up again before we plant it. We could be done with corn early tomorrow afternoon if the rain holds up. Still a few hundred acres of soybeans left to plant though.

DS has been riding with me in the tractor again. Thought we were going to have to go to the ER last night when he shut his finger in the door. I don't think it is broken, but I'm pretty sure he'll lose a finger nail. He screamed like crazy and after we went home and cleaned it up, he wanted to go back with me instead of staying home with mom. This morning, he was supposed to go to the sitter, but asked to go with me instead. He stayed in the tractor all day, even after it tried to take his finger yesterday. He definitely has a new respect for that door now though.

Glad to hear he'll be ok. Won't be too long before you can strap some cans to his feet, sit him up on a phonebook, and let him start working the field. :lmao:

It’s an interesting day in our miniscule world down here.

There’s been one of those major shifts in reasoning that occurs within those households blessed with young’ens. Today is the day that all arguments officially (and legally) move away from the notion of “Because I said so…”, and land squarely in the realm of “Hay, my house, my rules; don’t like it… well then there’s the door”. I am no longer the legal guardian of anyone other then myself (and maybe the cat… I was never in charge of DW and that’s a good thing).

According to the laws of the land my son became and adult today; responsible for his own actions, and due the same benefits and/or constraints that befall all the rest of us (with the exception of having a beer, which in my opinion is wrong, unfair and improper… either you are an adult or you aren’t… but I digress).

Anyway… I’d like to publically wish my son a happy 18th Birthday.

:bday:

May god have mercy on his sole.
:rotfl2:

Happy birthday to a from a fellow Taurus!

Happy Birthday Max! Just think, one more year a d you can legally drinking Canada! ;)

Well, he can probably legally drink it now, just not buy it.

It is Victoria Day. You guys seem to like all things Royal down there (never quite understood that) so take the day off and celebrate with the rest of us.

I don't get that either. Why waste money on rich people who don't do any work all day? Oh wait, we call them Congress down here.

Happy Birthday to DS and congrats to you on being able to kick him out. :lmao: I agree with you about the stupid age rule. Here in KY, you can't buy liquor until 21, cigarettes til 18, have sex and drive a car at 16. See post above as to the reason why.

I don't let anyone near my throat with my straight razor.

That is tag worthy right there.

Yup, been thru a few of those nails falling off. Glad to hear he is ready to go again. Good luck with the planting.

Why bother running to the other end :confused3

That's my strategy.

Top of the morning guys. Met with a customer yesterday planning his first family trip to the World. They have two rooms at CBR because he has 5 kids and his MIL is coming. He is very excited. We ended up talking about his trip for almost two hours. I love those types of meetings :thumbsup2

That sounds like the right amount of work. Whatever happened to that one grumpy customer who was giving you so much grief?

Going to brace myself today, we are due for a storm of customers today. :rotfl2:Midnight tonight is the zero hour, so everyone (customers) will be in full panic mode. Can see our store easily topping $100K for one days sales. Everyone will be in too, full shifts.

Isn't it funny how the budget can't give people full shifts the rest of the year, even Christmas, but suddenly there is everyone schedualed. This is a scam.

Prayers. The aluminum plant my FIL works for and their utility company have been battling now for 6 months past their drop dead date. While their contract hasn't ended, the utility company said they were raising their rates because the aluminum plant was using too much electricity. The aluminum plant said they would lay everyone off and close their doors if they raised the rates. That was supposed to happen January 1, and everything is still open. There was probably a behind the scenes deal that raised the rates on all the middle class taxpayers, so the big Corporation CEOs could grab them some more vacation homes.

Hopefully, like him, they are just using you as a pawn to get themselves some more profits. That sentence doesn't sound right, but that seems to be the way things are now.

Still giving me grief. I tried to give them away, but the boss said no. She is not anywhere worth the work I have to put in. I love treating all of my custromers special, but there is a limit. She called me two Sunday's ago and when I did not answer she called my boss complaining I was blowing her off.

I'm not going to let her get to me. I have bigger fish to fry. I have to find away to buy DVC so I can get us down to Disney on a regular basis as a family of 8!!!

Hate to hear she is giving you grief. I can't help you there. With the other, you need 250 points for a 2 BR at AKL for a week in October, so that you can be there when we are. (I know AKL is your favorite).

From TSS resale contracts:
There is a 200 point contract for $14,400.
There is a 125 point contract for $9,125.

Obviously, you have a big pending expense next year. There should be resale contracts in the future. If you bought the smaller one, then you could go every other year.

I'm thinking the every other year would work, maybe. I have been monitoring resales and there seems to be quite a range of point totals available. I saw one last week for 500 PTS at OKW I think.

There is a good thread over in DVC section somewhere, but best advice was buy where you want to stay, if you could only stay in that 1 resort forever after. I didn't find that thread. So, I bought in at SSR, thinking it was cheaper. Later, I sold that contract after I bought in at BLT & BWV. I liked SSR and will stay there again, but I absolutely loved BLT. I could probably went either way with Beach Club or Boardwalk, but I like that more for the area than for the resort. I got a BWV contract for $65 a point, so I jumped on it.

You pretty much nailed it on the head. Lets hope history repeats itself.

Sorry to hear of the continued issues. Customers....sheesh.

But hey everyone! Ducks having a fish fry!!

Not sure what you are talking about Darcy?

I don't think that we have any thing about the Royals.

I mean it's fun to see what hi jinks they've been up to, but I don't think we Americans want to see them on a regular basics.

Happy Birthday Max!

I'm old enough the age for legal consumption was 18 and don't agree with the change either. You are an adult or you aren't and age has very little to do with it.

Those I get Randall, I was talking about your fascination with these Royals.

I think we ran out:rolleyes1

Home, now to play the waiting game. T-minus 5 hours, 15 minutes.

When I left at 6pm, we were at (net) $153K , still have3 hours to go :scared: Bigger then Christmas sales.

What scared me the most, is DW came in and bought stuff! She never drinks, suddenly I am wondering if we ARE going on strike. :rotfl2:

Good luck Brent...

I am thinking of buying a couple cases of Absolut, Glenfiddich, Crown Royal, and Bacardi.
Then selling them at a 20% markup. What ever I don't sell... I return after the strike. :rotfl2:

Sounds good to me! That is, if there is any left in the stores :lmao:
