Of all those monikers, “The Shiv” would make for the best mobster nickname.
So shes already got that going for her.

Wow, what a movie that would make! :thumbsup2

If the next Avengers movie introduces Crash, the Shiv Carrying, Pirate Princess Pirate as a new character, I'm suing. Same with the next Pirate's movie.

You assembled a heck of team. Nice job. :thumbsup2

You had a little bit to do with the team's success. Not much, but a little bit. OK, more than a little bit.

The thing with this is at least half of us said OK and started to leave the office.:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao:

I'm about 4 hours away so I will meet you guys there.

Woo-Hoo! Ahead of CJ! Take that nemie. :cool1::cool1:

Congrats on the last word and post count Randall. Fitting that you should lead in both on the penguin thread. Oh, and congrats Paul.....The penguins are gone.

Congrats Randall on the last word. Jim, gloat all you want. In 13 days I will be at Victoria Falls at the AKL toasting your triumph.

That was a good game. Curry dropped 20 in the third quarter and they still lost?

I thought it was over until Ginoboli hit the three with about a second left. Great game. Jaw dropping.

So, what'd I miss?:confused3

Busy day today. Had to pick up my FIL from the hospital. They found an artery in his heart that had a 99% blockage and put in a stent yesterday. He's already complaining about the hospital and saying he doesn't think the procedure will help his health any, so I'd say he's well on the road to recovery.

He will think differently when the blockage is clear. And yes, sure sign that he is on the road to recovery. Thoughts and prayers.

I chatted about this on the other boards but they've changed the way the queue works for test track. About a month ago they switched from having the fastpass riders on TestTrack just access an abridged design session to having them go through the full design session. The end result seems to be:

1. The fastpass line can stretch out the door.
2. The line before the design studio moves much slower. We stood at the front of the standby line watching them pull one or 2 families from the standby line to go into a design studio, and filling the rest of the studio with people from the fastpass line.

From talking with CM's the change is a result of a mandate from senior leadership at Chevy. The cast members seem frustrated. When I talked with those that had been working the ride for a while. There were others that had only been working on it for a month or less so they were unaware of the change. As a result of the change the CM said they are planning on redesigning the fastpass queue area. He said he was also hoping that they would reduce the number of fastpass riders.

The short of this is, if your touring plan had you grabbing fastpasses for soarin then running over to ride testtrack because you wanted to do the design station, you might want to swap that. Get FP's for TestTrack and ride Soarin.

Very interesting...

I do like the fact that FP riders are being given the opportunity to do the full design, but this seems to be an odd way to implement it.

I would think that they could still use the same queue for the FP as they did when it first opened. Surely the stations they have there could be given a software upgrade to allow for the same design experience as the standby design rooms. They'd have to add more design stations in that area though.

I hope that this change allows the line to move significantly faster once you get out of the design room. I know it seemed like we were in that drab corral room and the ramp to merge with the FP line forever when I rode standby in December.

Another thought that comes to mind... as big of a deal as this is, wouldn't Chevrolet have been involved before the attraction even opened? I have to admit I was shocked to find out the FP line only had a scaled back design process. I'd have thought that if the powers that be at Chevy didn't like it, they'd have had a say in it before the thing was even open to the public. :confused3

I can't imagine Chevy will get there way in reducing the number of FP riders on the advent of the whole myMagic+ system. I figured it would even go the other way - more FP tickets - so that your party could select the time from the App and then walk over and stroll on the ride. We usually try to ride Soarin twice each trip, but definitely plan to get to the new Test Track.

Congrats on the last word Randall. Was that the longest thread closing?

That one came in 9th in total pages but it took more then a day from the time we past 250. The other interesting stat is that “Penguins” stayed open 78 days… we haven’t had one open longer then that since DDC-VI

I can look at those stats and tell you exactly when I was deployed:rotfl2:

You had time (and need) to talk back then; much better that you’re back home.

And I'm still in the Top 30? How did that happen?

:lmao:

Even if I ignore the first 20 threads, you’d only be a dozen spots away from the top 30.
In any case we’re all glad to have you drop in when you get the chance.

Great picture. Where is the hot tub?

You need to adjust your eyes down about a sixteenth of an inch from where you’re lookin’…
but if I was you, I wouldn’t waste the energy (it’d spoil the scenery).

This is not that type of thread, Randall. :confused3 :lmao:

Sorry to hear that he was having trouble, but it does sound like recovery is well on its way.
We’ll add extra prayers just for good measure.

Hummmmm…
Sound to me like they need more design stations.

Brutal if you’re the poor schmuck in the standby queue. That will defiantly affect the way I go about dealing with that attraction next month.

It was the CM that wanted fewer FP riders. Given the effort being placed on mymagic+, I think you're correct that it's unlikely that this change will happen. On the plus side with the RFID AP's you can now save your car to your AP. We like both soarin and TT. I'd just do a rope drop at epcot and try and get FP's early so you can get em for both rides.

Yeah I thought it was strange that this change would come so shortly after the ride re-opened. Seems like Chevy would have followed the imagineers 10 commandments and actually walked through the ride before it was opened.

I'm not sure if the room after design studio moved faster.

You need to adjust your eyes down about a sixteenth of an inch from where you’re lookin’…

Yeah FP's are the way to go.

That will be a nice thing with the my magic +. Walk to one ride and pull up the other ride and get the FPs. I'm sure it will lock you out of getting other FPs, like the current system does, but at least it isn't walking completely across the parks for rides like TT & Soarin or the Splash and Space Mountains at MK.

yeah I really like the idea of being able to use the app to get your next FP. My days as a fastpass runner may be limited, which is awesome, means I'll get to spend more time with my family.

Amen. All that running ahead, trying to get a FP, I thought I was making the Disney magic better for the family. After a few trips, I figured the magic was spending the time with the family, not running away from them. Now, we still maximize our theme park time when we are there - but we do it together.

Well I see you guys finally closed the other thread. Great job Randall, I see you went on a bit of run.

Apparently, what I tag in the multiquote on my phone doesn't carry over to the laptop...:rotfl2:

Have you checked back at all? I'm going to start calling for a better time.

Didn't answer it correctly, I have looked a few times, nothing open. Going to go with what we got. 7:15 is not a bad dinner time, not the latest we have booked for this trip.

Ran the numbers, over and over. We originally booked the dining plan and tickets. Called and rebooked POR pool view room with the 25% discount. Skipped the MP and Tix as we have non expired ones from last year we can use. With the discount and no meal plan we saved a lot of $$. The only negative is that we will need to cancel a few of the sit downs without the meal plan. We'll wing it and see what we can get into while there. If not, it's CS for us.

Thanks Brent and Aaron! Without the heads up, may have missed the RO discount. :thumbsup2

No probs....weare still going to buy the Dining package, somehow wealways make it worth the $:rolleyes1

Hokey Smokes Bullwinkle, I'm in the top 10!

Think you might be able to find anything in the shop that’ll help clam your nerves a might?

Sorry ‘bout that one….
Seriously, I hope that they work things out before it has to come to that.

That Stinks! Fingers crossed and prayers that it's just talk and it gets worked out. Isle 3, shelf 4. Must be something to help the nerves around there somewhere.

If you want to move to the US and work in tech support, our Apps Engineer resigned today.:headache::sad2: Just started getting everything back to a normal level. Next task. Post job online.

I'll hear about it tonight on CTV...

Good luck Brent.

Hope it gets settled in the 11th hour.

Well, it's all the prep stuff I don;tremember happening last time, including prepping for strikepay. It's all precaution, but still kinda hits home. This morning all the PFTs had to turn in our keys.....just in case. Just seems kind of ominous. If it happens, it'll be the long weekend so still a week to go.

Glad he's doing better...prayers

Sounds like he's on the road to recovery.

Question to the Dads who are Travel Agents, what do you have to do to become one, do you take a course, do you need a license, I'm Thinking of trying it, I'm not really looking to do a online site, enough people around go often that I would like to do a in person arrangement:confused3

Also what kind of cut do you get, is it a flat rate or percentage, guess that is something important to know:confused3

I was going to ask how the recovering was going James, glad to hear you're doing good! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Randall! How are you feeling? How's the PT going? Is it helping any?

Online reservations weren't working at 6:00, so we called in at 7:00. Was able to get all our adrs, including 2 BOG reservations. Worked out well! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear you got what you wanted! :thumbsup2

‘A “Thrawn in the box”…
Certainly cooler then a “Charlie in the box”.

Nobody likes a Charlie in the box.

Good to hear.
May the healing be quick.

Thanks!

There’s a successful recruiting strategy if ever I’ve heard one mate.

:thumbsup2

Best recruiting speech ever! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

I'm glad the knee seems to be healing well.

Thanks! Me too!

I baked it special for you... :thumbsup2

Thanks! I can't wait until it arrives! :rolleyes1

Some people just think money can buy anything.. when will they realize some things just cant be bought.

Like what? :confused3

Glad the surgery went well.

Thanks!

Glad to hear the surgery went well. I was supposed to have done that years ago, but skipped it for a variety of reasons. In hindsight.... bad move.

Thanks. I should have had it about 2 years ago, but ended up not doing it, only to have it rear it's ugly head again.

Glad the surgery went well.

The shiv comes from Team Barry/Team Tim Half Marathon Challenge. Since I was the General Manager to Team Barry (the winner by the way), DD was my surrogate in the marathon. It got nasty when Carl ran over Barry in a golf cart. Paul (Team Tim) and DD were running the full and in retaliation, she was going to shiv Paul. One of the many monickers she is burdened with here on the board. Her full name would be Crash, the Shiv Carrying, Pirate Princess Pirate. Hence your Princess Pirate carrying a shiv and watching out when she starts driving references.

Thank you, and thanks for the explanation. I remember "Crash" as well as the pirate princess exploits. Now I'm up to date!

The Penguin is dead, rest in peace Penguins!

And in the spirit of this thread title:

I love it when a plan comes together!

Dang...
I was just about to respond to Justin’s request for a hot tub when the Mods finally went and closed the thread.

So I guess I’ll just post it here….

She looks lonely.

Great.... Getting strike info as we speak...stress levels rising

Ugh. I hope it doesn't come to that.

I had more posts in that last thread than I thought.

Tonight DS and I are going to Iron Man 3 in 3D.

Bought tix last night to ensure we'd get in. :thumbsup2

DW and DD will be going to Girl Guides.

Hope you enjoyed it!

because you threatened to harm anyone that passed you?? Oh wait, I passed you! :scared1:

Glad to hear about the surgery and hope you are up to speed soon. What a great birthday speech from the Captain. Or should I say, Commodore. I'll get you a really big hat. Aye!

bigger than this one?

funny-hat-pics-311.jpg

DW asked to try the new pineapple/ coconut infused rum. Mother's Day is looking good.

yum!

With DVC, we never get the free dining. But, I added up the DP vs OOP or with TiW. Enjoying a restuarant or two is a part of our vacations, so that is just one of those budgeted expenses. I guess you can keep me in mind for that next job.

We might get TIW this time around. 3 trips in a year should make it worth it.

So, what'd I miss?:confused3

That's the one thing I look forward to the most. Being able to plan our next move while eating or on a standby line, open the app, and make it happen.
