My alma mater, the University of New Brunswick just defeated Saint Mary's University, another team from the Atlantic Conference 2-0 to win the Canadian University hockey championship. An odd year dynasty is building; in this string they have won in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013.

Happy St. Patty's Day gentlemen. Hope everyone has been well or is is getting well. Nothing exciting going on here right now.

Good evening!

I got a Disney Musical Souvenir from a friend last Friday. So, I'm catching up on the boards.

I know i've missed a lot... the last time I posted was in a Perry the Platapus level thread, so, that's how long it's been.

I'm going to try to get back involved. And that's not a guarantee. But we'll see. In between then & now, there was the convention I missed, so I hope ya'll had a good time.

This morning, I cooked bacon, so I thought about all the Dis Dads while doing that.

Good evening, and Happy St. Paddy's day. (with a D. if you use T's, then that's Patricia. From Italy, and a feast day in August.)

Just saw on ESPN the 30 for 30 episode "Survive and Advance," about the 1983 NC State Championship run and their coach Jim Valvano. Not only how they overcame and won the NCAAs but Valvano's subsequent fight against cancer. Very moving.

From his ESPY speech:

"To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."

"Don't Give Up . . . Don't Ever Give Up."

I remember watching that speech. One of the only times I ever watched the Espy's. Has to be me of the best speeches I've ever seen.

Morning Guys!

Its a rainy cold Monday here in Va Beach! Hope everyone safely celebrated thier Irish heritage yesterday, and I hope this week sucks less than the one before it!:rotfl2:

Love that speech. One of the best all time. :thumbsup2

Really bad Monday. Feel like I have a hangover but the strongest thing that I drank all weekend was Iced Tea.

Hope everyone else is having a better start to the week.

Morning...hope everyone has recovered from getting their Irish on..:rotfl2: Didn't partake in anything, not even a beloved Guinness, DW and I are fighting off some nasty colds, wasn't really up to it.

Going to nap for a while, I have an ugly 4-12:30 shift tonight for year-end counts. :scared::crazy2:

Another boring Monday. In reviewing my calendar for the rest of the year, the good news is that most of it looks like most of my travels will be return trips. 11 hour days are long, but worth it to be home with the family. The bad news, other than it is subject to change, is being gone the next two weeks. Definitely looking forward to the weekend already.

Morning guys.

It's Monday and it feels like.........Monday.

The only Monday that doesn't feel like a Monday, is a Monday at WDW.

Good to hear from you again. Cooking bacon produces wonderful results.

Great speech. While it doesn't qualify as a speech, Coach Rudy T had a one liner when the Rockets won the NBA championship - "Never underestimate the heart of a champion". I think i need to replay some of these, as i have been running on empty lately.

Hi DISDads!

Just a couple of things:

1. I respect your privacy, I will not add anything to page one without you asking me too, even if you post it. So if you want something added to page one please PM me.

2. As some of you may have notice I'm not doing birthday posts anymore. This is for a number of reasons. So if someone would like to pick this up, that would be fine, if not, well, that's ok too.

3. Have A Disney Weekend!

I see... you pick MY birthday day to stop sending out Happy Birthdays. I see how it is.
:lmao:
Thanks again for taking over the duties, Randall! You've been doing a much better job than I ever did :thumbsup2
Hey Emma's Dad....

Happy%20Birthday%20Don.JPG

Thanks, Brian!! Although I have no idea what the image is.... I get a red X at work. :lmao:Unless, of course, it's SUPPOSED to be a red X, then I shall fart in your general direction. :rotfl2:

Happy Birthday Don!

Thanks!

Hey, I just checked. I have an unbirthday today! Time for some cake.:cool1:

And happy unbirthday to you, too!

We lost in the championship today by 3. Had 3 wide open layups by our center with time running down and he missed all three of them. Each one would have been for the lead. They hit foul shots at the end to seal it. I found my self yelling....time ouuuuuuu, oh each time he missed. I think if we had taken the lead on any of those shots we would have won.

All in all we had a great season with a good group of kids. I'm proud of the efforts, their improvement and how much we developed over the last few months. Second place, but definitely winners in the big picture.

Oh I bet your voice was a little tired after that game!! Sorry to hear they missed first, but congrats on second!

Back from almost 2 weeks of vacation. I'd say I'm glad to be back, but we all know that's a lie. Feel free to let me know if I missed anything important.:thumbsup2

For those of you not on Facebook, I posted this over there last week. Behold....THE BACON DOLE WHIP!

Being from Wisconsin, I half expected you to try it with cheese... :lmao:

Morning guys,

Off to the doctor in a bit to have him look at my shoulder. Still hurts like a bear. Hopefully I get some good drugs. I plan on filling out my bracket today so if it flops and I am high on pain killers, there is a built in excuse.

Brian, here are our temp plans for the trip...

5-22 Studios in the am, lunch at Brown Derby and MK at night
5-23 MK in the am, EPCOT in the pm and dinner at Chefs de France
5-24 Non park day. No plans as of now. Maybe Downtown Disney.
5-25 Thinking EPCOT in the morning and maybe AK in the afternoon/early evening.

Let me know if you have any ideas for a meet up.
