Well, my back is loosening up a bit today. I wasn't sure as it was very tight and very painful just standing up out of bed this morning. Hopefully this means I'm on the way to recovery and not just getting used to the pain..

Good news. My back can take me out for a month or more at a time. Of course, I have a herniated disc. The doc wants me to lose weight, but when I exercise, my back hurts.

Hey, guys! Did I miss anything?

It was epic. Too bad you missed it all.

I must be getting old. Had an appointment for a physical this morning and now I'm waiting at the lab for a cholesterol and diabetes test. First time the doc ever mentioned the "C" word to me.

However, despite being old and overweight, all my labs are in the normal range. I guess extreme Laziness as some health benefits. :lmao:

But we all know the state of Indiana is where basketball became significant.

And it became perfected at UK, the winningest program of all time.

hurray we made it through ROFR again. Hopefully this time the contract will actually close. All in all it will have taken us almost 6 months to buy a DVC contract if this goes through. I'm still with f**** because they already had my deposit so I just rolled it over to another contract.

Congrats. I think you can mention this F company, even if it isn't the sponsor of this thread. Maybe not. Either way, hope it goes thru this time. Which resort did you buy into?

With our next trip coming up in April I've been starting to look more into car rentals... specifically trying to get the lowest deals. What I find really amazing is that I made a reservation in January for 8 days of rental in a Full size car for $450... today I was able to get the same number of days and size for $180. I'm pretty sure I can get even better pricing as time gets closer to our trip (end of April which is a slow time), but I got to thinking... I wonder how many people simply make a reservation and never check back for lower pricing? Missing out on 60% discount would be dereliction of duty I would think! :lmao:

A crappy day at work. A group project was due last week. I had of course completed my part, but the idiot coworker hadn't, so I had to spend the last two days doing all her work so that it looks presentable tomorrow. I think I may have got it to that point, but it is still really bad. Oh well, she will take the heat on it tomorrow.

Morning guys. Thanks for all the prayers. We hope to hear something no later than Friday.

And a few more for Friday as well.

Morning Guys,

I can see Friday!!!

You need to select the last page, and scroll down. I think your looking at last week.:rotfl2:

Matt

Is the Princess lighting fires and tipping over cars?

:lmao:
And choking their former head coach?

Ouch. I think I'll call when my 180 days rolls around..

I usually call at the 180 mark for that one or two must have ADRs, like CRT at 8:00 AM. I guess it will be BOG this time. Usually, unless it is Christmas week, we can get them done online. I'm hoping for BoG in October.

Ahem.

No.

That would be Kansas. Where the inventor of the game coached, and then was succeeded by the the father of basketball coaching, Phog Allen. The vast majority of coaches who have made any significant contribution to the game an ultimately be traced back to Phog Allen and his progeny.

I'm not sure what that means but I think it is good. Congrats to your son.

Thanks, Guys!
For the newer members, here's an explanation:
My son David has been in the Navy since 8/2006 and is currently an AO2 assigned to the Blue Angels. He is in his third year as the crew chief for the "Boss" and the #1 jet. As a third year crew member, he gets to take a ride in the two-seater #7 jet and his ride is scheduled for Saturday in El Centro, CA, their winter training base. Due to the impending budget cuts, the Blues may not get off the ground this year for the airshow season. I'm really hoping he gets his ride! He deserves it.

Those of you that have seen the Lion King broadway show......

Would this be a kind of show that may be better to be viewed from a balcony location?

I know sometimes you lose some visibility sitting low in a theater for some of these shows.

We saw it from a balcony and enjoyed it mightily. What I did notice though was that there were a hand full of the visual images that would have been a little more impressive from the floor and back a few rows. It was all just a matter of the angle from which you would have been viewing the particular scene at the time. Either place will be good, but if we go back and see it again this summer (which I’d like to do) we’ll try to sit on the orchestra level this time around.

And yes there is basketball in Canada. Invented by a Canadian and the current Naismith winner is a Canadian. I love watching hockey and playing some pick up but I'm pretty happy DS never gave playing any real serious thought. With basketball and soccer I don't have to sit in cold rinks at 5:30 in the morning.
:rotfl2:

Basketball was created in Canada my friend...

I have never let facts get in the way of my creativity.

Wow that is a vicious cycle right there. Lose weight to improve back, but hurt the back while trying to lose weight. :confused3

I think you need to focus on diet first. I'd go the Atkins route and have 3 square meals of bacon a day with maybe some diced ham as snacks in between meals.

I agree with Brett, the Atkins/Southbeach/Paleo diets are great for losing weight fast, but hard to stick to long term. Go for it Norm!

I just heard from the mother of another Blue Angels crew chief that the Indianapolis airshow has been cancelled; all military jet teams are grounded until further notice; and the military will not support any airshows this season.
I haven't been able to verify that but have no reason to doubt it. :(

Total bummer, man.:(

Before you say it…

Yes… James Naismith was Canadian. Point to your side.
Springfield, MA is where he was working. So it’s a little like all the Canadian actors that have abandoned their own country to work in the US.

So, it was developed by a Canadian, but it was not created in Canada.
So either we’re both right, or we’re both wrong.

Let's both be right... :thumbsup2

:lmao:

:groom: A new record for me.... 1 post in an entire thread!! :cool1:

Randall... LOVE what you've done to the place :thumbsup2 Well... excpet for those penguins. :lmao:

Looks like everyone else got the thread-opening text but me. Glad I could chime in here on page 38. Happy Tuesday all!

:wave2: Don...

Where ya been?

I actually did a similar type of diet a few years ago and dropped 75 lbs. since taking over the restaurant my pants are feeling a little tight. Started walking again and had a great day food wise.

The key for me was to make small goals and don't get down on yourself when you "fall off the wagon".
Good luck!!

I did the Atkins diet once. It was fun to eat all that steak, bacon, hamburgers, etc. I did lose a lot of weight, but couldn't keep it off and couldn't keep eating that way. The call of pizza, beer, cake, & ice cream was too great.

One of my oldest's dance teachers went thru the nutrition stuff thru Dr. Sears. After the class, she bought a hamburger from McDonald's and left it in the garage for 5 years. It has never molded or decomposed. It looks fresh, but is hard to the touch. The bugs don't even eat it. I can post a picture, but there isn't a date on it. :scared1:

Bummer. Hope it is just a rumor.

I think the only way for me is to exercise. I have never ate well, but the only time I have been in shape is when I exercised.

Sorry to hear that. Hope something changes and the show goes on...

Very cool, that would be amazing.

That bites! They really need to get their act together. I haven't seen the Blue Angels live but I have seen the Thunderbirds once and the Snowbirds a few times. It would be a shame if people weren't able to see them perform.

Either Balcony or Orchestra...

In my opinion, first or second row balcony would be the way to go for this show...
