DVC isn't necessarily a cost saver as Norm pointed out. Although, once it's paid for, the value for the type of resort\room that you get in the DVC is pretty darn good. We'd stayed at the Values prior to buying in and while everything at WDW is nice, it's an apples to oranges comparison. Yes, you'll still have to pay for tickets and food but your mind set changes alot once you're in the DVC. We still do rope drop (my DW is a commando gal) but we don't fret over long line and never worry about missing an attraction. Before we tried to get everything in b\c we wanted to maximize our experience per dollar spent!

Other bonus is that we've found (more from friend's personal experiences than ours) that if you belong to the DVC, it can help with various reservations and such. Our friends tried to get into Be Our Guest...it was "sold out"...they called the DVC member services and then got in. We'v had some other situations like that, too. So ther's some fringe benefits like that, too.
Good Morning Ownage
I'm not going to hold my breath on that happening to me, BOG is the last ADR we are hoping to make and of course so far been unsuccessful but it never hurts to try, thanks for the tip

Good morning fellow dads, hope all is well prayers go out to those needing them, I'm taking my last vac day on Friday to spend some daddy time with DD on her 5th birthday so short week for me :)

Morning guys. Rough night

Back to the grind today. Hopefully everyone who has to has a good first day back :thumbsup2

Morning David, hope your feeling better.

Enjoy your first day back, I'll be thinking about you guys as a sit and have my morning coffee. I don't go back until Monday.

Morning, all! I guess everyone is back at work today! (slow boards) :rotfl2:

Not to be a downer, but some follow-up on my friend and colleague's mom who was hospitalized on 12/29 with the flu. After a very brief ICU course, where she developed multi-organ system failure (kidney's, heart, lung), she passed away on 12/31. Previously healthy 55 year old women with no medical problems. And no, she didn't get her flu shot this year.

So if any of you aren't getting your shot because it doesn't always exactly cover this year's strain (an excuse I get from my own mother), next year do it not for you but for your family. So if you die, they don't have to carry the guilt of you not getting a flu shot.

Well said Doc. My own SIL is opposed to any vaccinations, but spent 6 days in the hospital over the holidays because of the flu.

Time to start checking the weather for the DDC. Overnight lows in the low 50s. That's going to make for a warm race.

Hi Guys!

Jim and Steve, I hope you guys start feeling better soon. Jodi had that for years, off and on, she finally got her gland/duct removed.

Morning David and all the other Dads!!

Its back to the grind, and hopefully more time on the boards. I'm not holding my breath on that last one, as I'm not sure how bad the new year will be.

Matt

Morning Matt...

I don't return to work until tomorrow... :cool1:

Morning..home with the girls on my normal day off, everything is back to normal, aside from it'll be next weekend till the store looks like normal.

Watching Wakko's Wish on the PVR, kids love the humour in Animaniacs, even if they don't get half the jokes. :rotfl2:

Prayers to her family. I did get my flu shot, mind you, I don't have to pay for it...

Prayers for the families loss...

A grim but important message...

I've come down with a cold too as of this past Friday. Seems like it's been going around. Both DD's and DW had it earlier and I thought it had escaped me. Not so much.

:scared1: That's not what I want to hear.

‘Morning all…

Back on a regular schedule and finally getting over a nasty bout of the Creeping Crud. Just maybe I’ll be able to keep better track of what’s going on ‘round here.

Very sad…
Very sobering…
And a might troubling in it’s randomness.
Prayers offered for the family.

Sounds good for the Convention. It’s just about time for all y’all to be headed down there. I hope everyone has a great time and may I also say…

Envy, envy, envy!!!

Woke up with a cold...

Felt it coming on, but thought I couuld shake it...

Hopefully it’s not the nonsense that I’m finally getting over.
One of the nastiest colds I’ve encountered in years. It knocked me on my keester for better then two weeks and the cough and drainage are still hanging around just to be ornery.

Still don't feel it in the throat, or cough... just mucous... I did have the flu shot, so I am hoping that is minimizing the nastiness of it.

Wow... scary stuff right there. Sorry to hear about the loss.

Melody was just telling me I should get my flu shot. I never get one but I just might this year. We have a few friends who just had the flu and it didn't sound pretty. :sad2:

You don't think it will stay in the low 50's till at least 8am?
