Good news.

Darn the luck. You're such a trooper to tag along with your wife. :lmao: That sounds like a whirlwind trip. Hope you get a chance to eat at the Turf Club at SSR, great Prime Rib for the $, and a beignet at POR (or is POFQ?).

Thanks, I am a really good husband. :lmao: we have stayed at POR a couple of times we call it our " home " resort. The beignets are at POFQ, and are amazing. We are staying a couple of nights at each of the first three ad actually taking a vacation the last week at POR. :lmao: we are driving and have done online check in for ASM and CSR. I am looking forward to staying at CSR, I have heard a ton about it from a bunch of dads! Since we drove the travel between resorts should not be a big deal.

BTW......not sure if any dads actually live in the area of Rock Hill but the pizza and wings at Marcos is awesome!!! A must try if any dads are driving down, and end up staying in this area.

Not a bad deal, I love going to the welcome centers for the coupon books...we saved a bundle that way. You made a good distance for day 1.

Yeah, Jo hates driving that Nitro, and it doesn't feel right. I don't care about banging my head going in/out etc, it'll just be a couple of weeks. They figured 16-18 days to repair it all. At least no frame damage, most of the cost is to replace the side airbag. If it goies longer, meh,. we don't pay for the rental. And at least at this rate, we don't lose the Disney decals on the back.:thumbsup2

Do we have time to change the locks?

Glad to hear that your insurance company is taking care of you.

We left home at 3:30 am which got us at the border at about 6, 1hr lunch break and about 5 "pit stops" 3 gas fill ups and here we are. There was a huge accident on i77 in Virginia going north, traffic was backed up for about 20 miles. Someone was apparently air lifted out but thankfully no deaths.

With the cost of flights in the summer, I figured even with the room, gas, and meals I am still way ahead and because we had AP's that expire on sept 1 we were basically paying for rooms and spending money.

Haven't been here for a while. Not much energy until today to do much except lay on the couch. Missed a bunch of stuff and know a few guys are up there or are going up there (or down there for everyone north of Miami). Have fun and safe travels.

Good to hear. DD did that to one of her phones but we didn't know about the rice thing.

Spent three hours at the doctor's office to get the Pirate Princess' health form signed. The idiots that run the office lost her transcripts from the pediatrician. They had to get them faxed from the old doc. Took forever.

Did see my doctor as we were leaving and he didn't recognize me at first. Haven't seen him in a year and needless to say, I am a different person than when I was recovering. Back slaps all around.

Have to try to catch up later tonight.
Neat story about the doctor. Really great that you're in so much better condition these days.

Quick trip update. On auto train now. Horrible trip down here. 5 hour trip took over 7 hours because of truck accident on I95. Just barely made the train. Thank goodness we gave so much extra time. Conductor said a number of people missed the train because of it. Way too much stress to start the vacation. But they have wine on the train and I'm feeling relaxed now.
Yuck, sorry about the stress, but glad you made the train. Drink up and relax!

Jo finally heard back from the adjuster, the car is 100% repairable. It'll cost them a small fortune to repair, but it's still cheaper then replacing. :rotfl2: We'll have ot back in a few weeks. We are going to get a better rental till then on Saturday. At least we know now, I'm happy with it, I like our car, don't want to let it go after less then 8 months!
I hope you're right about it being just a few Weeks. I've heard that one before....

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes on safe travels. I am currently in the Hampton Inn in Rock Hill SC. Beautiful town and awesome hotel. Found a coupon at the Welcome Center for $89, great deal when you consider the full breakfast in the morning. We just ordered some pizza and wings from a local place called Marco's from a recommendation from the front desk. It's on it's way!!

To the other dads that are going to be in the world I just finished sending a PM to Barry about hooking up with you guys at DHS at rope drop. We are actually taking kind of a crazy trip and are staying at ASM, rented points at SSR, staying at CSR and lastly POR. My DW is also a TA and wanted to test run a few places we have never stayed, so I am just along for the ride!! :lmao:
That's a lot of stuff packed in, but I actually think the hotel changes look like fun. I'd love to try all the resorts at some point, and no more often than we go, that would be the only way I could do it.

On vacation OWNAGE! Very nice!

We are really looking forward to it, I'll let you know how it goes.

The kids are starting back to school tomorrow, but the best part is that MIL will not be here everyday when I get home now until next summer!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I will add that the day before a WDW trip seems to me to be the longest day of work of the year, but I only have 8hrs of work to go

That is my 4200th post

Back to the late-night catching up habit...

Ankle officially not broken ownage. Thanks for the well wishes.

glad to hear!

Ditto, but I'm leaving in about 4 hours!!
But I'm not going to Disney World :( I'm going to Pascagoula! (I'm :lmao: thinking of how many of y'all won't be able to pronounce that the first time through...) <bummer, no EVIL smilie ;)
About 12 days away from home, but at least I'll have the new Jeep all to myself, minus 4 days on the ship.

have fun in passamaquoddy!!

I'll get in on this! Thanks for setting it up!

My kids did their Jekyll and Hyde routine today. they were on perfect behavior all morning. Only problem was explaining to DS that he didn't need to back his snow boots for the weekend just a sweatshirt. Then the afternoon hit. They both drove their bikes into busy streets on the way to and from the park. The park had to get cut short cause DS leveled DD one too many times. We get home and they tear the living room apart. They pulled a whole box of fruit snacks off the top shelf of the cupboard and ate them right before dinner. I'm still trying to figure out how DS pulled that one off because the chairs never moved. So We had wired kids up until bed time. And to top it off I found a mouse in a trap in the garage. Of course DW is pulling in the driveway as I'm throwing it away. :headache:

Ouch. Hope you don't have another one of those days for a while.

Good morning fellas, I'm not normally up this early but it's a special morning, we are heading out to the world!! We are driving, so I like to get a good start!
Just waking up the kids and we are out!!

Have a great trip!

I should get some sleep. Leaving in 6 hours.

Have a great trip too!

Man, I feel your pain. I don't know how they do some things. DS is 2 years old and 35" tall and somehow yesterday he unfolded our double stroller and started pushing it around the house. Really??? :scared1: :confused3 That thing is a handful for me to unfold.
Oh yeah, and while I was feeding DD, he was sitting on the kitchen floor with the formula, scooping it out onto the floor. :furious:

It's one of those mysteries that noone has ever caught definitively on tape... like bigfoot, or an operational Yeti.

What is this? Is Canada invading Lake Buena Vista, FL? :confused3

Maybe the Sports Complex is hosting a hockey tournament?

Darn ticker in my signature lies. Yes, it says only one more day, but that's a full work day today plus 6 hours tomorrow. :(

How can you possibly work on the day you leave???

Have a great trip... three!

It was definitely one of those days. We were supposed to go to the zoo today. Looks like another trip to the park. Also Dw is mad that I took their bikes away because they are going to her sisters for the weekend. They were supposed to bring their bikes. Twice they rode into the street without looking. :scared1:

I know I did it as a kid... it terrifies me now as a parent.

Good news.

I had to start humming the tune and that number sounds right. I didn't think you were old enough to remember that.

I sing that song with my band. Love it!

I thought it worked well. It did continue to make the ping noise on my iPad even with the volume muted; This didn't bother me so much, but DW is pretty sure I'm having an affair. So there's that. ;)

:rotfl2:

Cool! Hope you got extra coffee (there ain’t any that’s drinkable at Disney).

DW thought so, but found one place for what she said was a decent cup. The Kona Cafe at Poly.

That's hilarious! Especially since I had to show my iPhone to my wife as well..."who the [bleep] are you talking to?!" were her words...

:lmao: (enjoying this because DW would probably do the same thing!)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I'm just lucky that my wife met Dave and family on our last WDW trip, or else she'd be convinced that this whole DisDads thing was the front for either a serious drug problem or a long-term affair!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2:

My wife is firmly in the camp of "there are so many worse things that my husband could be doing."

Mine would agree, especially since there used to be some!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

the carousel of progress update we've been dreaming about???

DW's phone is working. The rice worked.

GO RICE!!

No, we cooked it. I'm mailing it to you.

:rotfl2:

Glad you made the train. My parents said their ride back up the other day was horrible. Not a good week for the autotrain, I guess.

Here's a link to some old school EPCOT Center designs for T-shirts, Posters, iPhone cases etc...

Very cool stuff.

Stayed at a Hampton Inn on the way home in Bluffton, SC. I love making my own waffle for breakfast there!! Tried to get one in VA, but no vacancies and ended up staying at a holiday inn express next to it. Sadly, no situations arose the next day that I could put that experience to use at... I so badly wanted to say, "No, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night"

See if Jenny is still at 8675309 :thumbsup2

Nowadays you have to dial the area code too! even if it's the same as yours!! That would change the song a bit.

unless you score a great deal on those airline tickets, driving can definitely be more affordable! And then you have a car with you and avoid renting one or dealing with the buses!! :thumbsup2

My brother lives in Pascagoula, works at Ingalls shipyard for Lockheed Martin. He show's up on the boards here every now and then as Crazydadguy.

Morning Men! And a top o' the morning to all the dads at the world! I'm so insanely jealous of you that I'm ready to just go home from work and surf youtube all day!

Matt

Good morning guys!

Just finishing up breakfast here at the hotel, should be on the road again in a few minutes. If all goes to plan we will be checked in, had dinner and ready for EMH at MK tonight. :thumbsup2:

This is a big factor on our decision to drive down next year, rather then fly. (Part the reason we were anxious about the car). We last drove down in 2003, and I loved the experience, mind you we didn't have kids yet. We are giving ourselves an extra driving day though, I don't drive, so DW gotta do it alone, and we'll need a few extra stops for bathroom breaks for the girls and for them to run around a bit.
