The kids are starting back to school tomorrow, but the best part is that MIL will not be here everyday when I get home now until next summer!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

MIL with you all summer? I must have missed that. You needed the extraction team.

I sing that song with my band. Love it!

Cool. I still have my piano, but was never good enough to be in a band.

::the carousel of progress update we've been dreaming about???

Just get rid of the hay smell.

Good morning guys!

Just finishing up breakfast here at the hotel, should be on the road again in a few minutes. If all goes to plan we will be checked in, had dinner and ready for EMH at MK tonight. :thumbsup2:

Live trip report updates. Cool. Have a great trip.

1 MORE DAY:worship: The Dis Dads that are going this week are on or will be soon in route :drive::moped::car::sail: All the kids are excited:donald::stitch::dumbo::tigger::figment: The Dads are dancing with joy:dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer: Even the wives are happy:maleficen opps :rotfl2:I mean :tinker::rainbow::love1:

I will add that the day before a WDW trip seems to me to be the longest day of work of the year, but I only have 8hrs of work to go

That is my 4200th post

6 hours of work for me (5 if I bug my boss enough and she kicks me out early:thumbsup2), then I'm heading home, packing the van up, and driving back to the airport. I say back because I'm literally right next door to the airport right now. :headache:

Did the online check-in for Southwest last night. Since we've got the baby, we can do the family boarding between the A and B boarding groups. But I thought I'd try to get a jump on it and get a little higher in the A group. I hit "check in" at exactly 6:15 - and we got boarding positions A 59& 60 and B 1 & 2. Right where we would have been anyway. :confused3

That sounds like a great way to end a Friday.

Lots of dads heading down, it seems. Hope it's a great time for all of you!

Checked in or checked out? I got lost with all those resort changes you have planned. :rotfl2:

Ever since they started allowing customers to pay extra for front-of-the-line privileges, it seems like that's where the normal boarding starts. :confused3

Came into work this morning... No phones no internet, one of my computers isn't working and our security alarm keeps randomly going off.

How long until 5 O'clock?

Jo finally heard back from the adjuster, the car is 100% repairable. It'll cost them a small fortune to repair, but it's still cheaper then replacing. :rotfl2: We'll have ot back in a few weeks. We are going to get a better rental till then on Saturday. At least we know now, I'm happy with it, I like our car, don't want to let it go after less then 8 months!

Good to hear, especially if your happy with the outcome.
Getting any kind of a win from an insurance company is rare.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes on safe travels. I am currently in the Hampton Inn in Rock Hill SC. Beautiful town and awesome hotel. Found a coupon at the Welcome Center for $89, great deal when you consider the full breakfast in the morning. We just ordered some pizza and wings from a local place called Marco's from a recommendation from the front desk. It's on it's way!!

Aaaarrrgggg!
Dude, you were five miles form my house.
You didn’t say that your were coming that far south or that it was via I-77.
I could have brought you some donuts for the trip or better yet…
have escorted y’all to the best barbeque ribs in the area.
Marco’s is pretty good though.

Y’all have fun down there at Disney, ya’ hear.

See if Jenny is still at 8675309 :thumbsup2

Nope… it’s an elementary school in Gaston County, NC (true story)

I sing that song with my band. Love it!

My band keeps that one in rotation as well, but I do the guitar work rather then the singing
(and believe you me… that’s a good thing)

The kids are starting back to school tomorrow, but the best part is that MIL will not be here everyday when I get home now until next summer!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Sounds like the sun is shining just a little bit brighter on you today. :sunny:

DW thought so, but found one place for what she said was a decent cup. The Kona Cafe at Poly.

And she’s right. That is the one exception.
Oh, and while you’re there…
try the Pineapple Macadamia Pancakes (trust me on this one).

Nice start there :sad2:
And the answer to you question:

W-a-y too long.

I've found that it's very tough to get any A spots with Southwest these days, now that they sell priority boarding. I'm sure with those spots you'll be all set. Good luck.

And have fun!

It's 5 o'clock somewhere... :thumbsup2

(I think i heard that line somewhere :confused3)

I had to start humming the tune and that number sounds right. I didn't think you were old enough to remember that.

:lmao: Yeah... old enough to hear it on the radio when it came out. Although I hadn't hit puberty then :rotfl2:

Yeah, Jo hates driving that Nitro, and it doesn't feel right. I don't care about banging my head going in/out etc, it'll just be a couple of weeks. They figured 16-18 days to repair it all. At least no frame damage, most of the cost is to replace the side airbag. If it goies longer, meh,. we don't pay for the rental. And at least at this rate, we don't lose the Disney decals on the back.:thumbsup2

Bang your head... another great song from the 80's. Not fun to do it in person though. Surprising that the frame wasn't damaged... considering most new cars are unibody. Good luck!

Thanks, I am a really good husband. :lmao: we have stayed at POR a couple of times we call it our " home " resort. The beignets are at POFQ, and are amazing. We are staying a couple of nights at each of the first three ad actually taking a vacation the last week at POR. :lmao: we are driving and have done online check in for ASM and CSR. I am looking forward to staying at CSR, I have heard a ton about it from a bunch of dads! Since we drove the travel between resorts should not be a big deal.

BTW......not sure if any dads actually live in the area of Rock Hill but the pizza and wings at Marcos is awesome!!! A must try if any dads are driving down, and end up staying in this area.

Try to get into the Cabanas at CSR :thumbsup2 Been there twice and enjoyed both times. REALLY want to try POR some day. In any case... sounds like you are going to have a blast this trip!! :cool1:

I sing that song with my band. Love it!

Sweet! What other songs do you play? Covers only? Original stuff we can hear online?

::yes::::yes::

Beat me to the line :lmao:

So I've decided to undertake a project. It'll be an ongoing thing, hopefully. I've decide to do sort of a video blog. I've had an account on YouTube for more than six years, but I only have one video uploaded. I plan on rectifying that with videos on life in Korea. I hope to show off some of the culture, the area around me, and what raising twins is like in a multiracial family. Not sure yet how often I'll be uploading videos, but I hope to make it a regular thing. Just don't expect good quality...

Also, as long as I've been in Korea, I've heard stories about K-Pop stars (and their companies) wanting to make it big in America and other Western countries. Until recently, I'd say the closest they got was Girls Generation performing on David Letterman.

Well, a performer by the name of Psy seemed to have done it, and unintentionally, at that.

This song is huge right now. Over 34,000,000 views on YouTube. And I hear it ALL the time over here. Fortunately, it's actually quite good...even if you don't understand the words.

Just catching up after a few days away. Took some time with the kids before they go back to school. :cool1:

Safe travels to all those on thier way to the world.

I REALLY need information on the DDC plans. It's a valid reason to go. Right guys? Wife can't possible disagree with that could she?:rotfl2:

Golfed with Evan(12) and dad(64) yesterday. Evan beat dad (woo-hoo for E! :cool2:). Shouldn't it be against the rules to beat your grandfather until you are at least 18? Don't think dad wants to golf with us anymore. :sad2:

Have a great day to all!

This is a big factor on our decision to drive down next year, rather then fly. (Part the reason we were anxious about the car). We last drove down in 2003, and I loved the experience, mind you we didn't have kids yet. We are giving ourselves an extra driving day though, I don't drive, so DW gotta do it alone, and we'll need a few extra stops for bathroom breaks for the girls and for them to run around a bit.

DW won't drive. So it's all on me if we do it. DD handled the ride fairly well, with the only exception being that she would suddenly blurt out that she needed to go to the bathroom, badly!! Seriously, kid? you can't give me more warning?? There was one instance where we didn't make it. :sad2:

DS was another story. He didn't like being couped up, so stopping to let him get out and run around a bit was necessary.

If they would all sleep in the car, I'd consider driving at night. But unfortunately, DW doesn't seem to be able to sleep in the car.

So, as long as the extra time it takes to drive doesn't take away from our time at WDW, then driving is something we'll consider. Our next trip will probably be short and hopefully we can get good airfare.

6 hours of work for me (5 if I bug my boss enough and she kicks me out early:thumbsup2), then I'm heading home, packing the van up, and driving back to the airport. I say back because I'm literally right next door to the airport right now. :headache:

Did online check in for our flight down and I was hitting the button at exactly the right time as well, and got A41. Not too much better than family boarding.

Came into work this morning... No phones no internet, one of my computers isn't working and our security alarm keeps randomly going off.

from right now, about 5 hours and 35 minutes. (for me.)

And she’s right. That is the one exception.
Oh, and while you’re there…

DW had those pancakes. She loved them. I tried a bite. Not bad, but I'm not big on nuts.

I had the tonga toast. It lived up to the hype.

Someone's just a LITTLE excited! I had to remove some of those icons just to reply!! hahaha!

me too! :thumbsup2

Sounds interesting!! I am slowly starting to get my vacation stuff uploaded. (Not that anyone wants to see it.)

tough one... let the kids win, or let the grandparents win... either way, one thing is certain, you will be the loser! :lmao:

So does that mean the bad news is... she will be back next summer? :confused3

We drove when the kids were 6 and 4....

They were very well behaved, we brought lots of activities, colouring books, snacks, and movies (portable DVD players).

He reason we didn't drive again is.... It is a long drive for only one driver. DW does not drive.

The best places to learn about the DISDads Convention plans are:
1) DISDads.com blog, and
2) Our own little clubhouse

We're working with a travel agency other than the one that has a connection to this site in putting together the event, so we didn't really feel that it was appropriate to have too much detailed convention discussion here.

But among the activites that we have planned are:
1) Group dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe (it's technically almost booked up - we have 49 reservations for the 50 spots in the ADR - but if interest is there for more, I'll see about adding a few to the ADR.
2) A bunch of group rides and snack meet ups (see you at Aloha Isle)?
3) A live podcast recording at "The Bachelor Pad" at Old Key West
