Sounds like Star Trek has had a great influence on us - cell phones and medical scanners.

I actually got smarter from reading this.

The residents don't listen to me, but at least someone learned something!

Ok now for some serious talk. For those who might of missed it. Scott,Chris ,and I have all joined in the marathon madness coming in Jan.We will all be doing the full marathon,as we believe that one should go all out and go big or go home.I know many of you are sitting there saying wow the three of you are going to run 26 miles? Well the answer is not exactly. Our marathon will consist of several laps around the kitchen table to get to the refrigerator for cold beverages. I know some are saying well that's not a marathon. Well let me remind you this. We are staying at OKW and they do have the largest rooms for DVC,and there is more furniture to be manoeuvring around then in any other villa. And With many trips back and forth to the fridge one would have to be physically fit.
Sometime on a future date I am sure we will be extended an invitation for other dads to enter our marathon.

Oh I wish I was in Disney right now it is cooler there then will be here.98 today could hit 101 tomorrow.:scared:

oh sure. then what would happen if one of us fell and broke a leg or something???? how we we get to the fridge then?????

No man gets left behind. The others would need to man up and take care of their fallen brother.

If you all fall, make sure one of you has that lifeline device with you. :lmao:

Scott and I should be ok cause we have a Doc with us.Just have to make sure Chris stays safe. Wonder if OKW could provide us with a refridge attendant for the weekend.:confused3

Well just got back from ER with eldest son.Left side of his face went numb and started drooping. Needed to take him to make sure wasn't a stroke. Well the good news is it wasn't.It is bells palsy.I guess I can take that as good news.
I need a Disney fix
Prayers for your DS, Carl. Hopefully it rights itself soon!

Welcome Jeff!

Welcome Jeff!

Finally got in for the old snip at 430 or so yesterday.
laying in the bed surfing, just me and my bag of peas. Everything seemed to go well.

Matt
Wow, Matt. You make it sound like it was Jeff's fault you had a date with Mr. Snippy. Hows that for a warm welcome for the new guy!

The ole credit card got hit hard with the registration fees for the marathon in Jan - between Goofy for me, and the marathon (I think) for DW, our bank account is now huddled in the corner, weeping softly.
Wow, Disdads are taking over the marathon! We'll see you in January!

A marathon requires a lot of training. Better get to it.

oh sure. then what would happen if one of us fell and broke a leg or something???? how we we get to the fridge then?????
Move your chair closer to the fridge.

Same here. "Only" 91° today after a few days in the mid 90s. Back to the 70s by the weekend, though.

Drives me nuts how some doctors will go to any length just to prove their beliefs. I guarantee that whatever the blood test results, this guy will interpret them to fit his (almost certainly incorrect) belief that viruses cause most sinus-type infections. I understand that you want to limit antibiotic use, but it certainly sounds like your daughter has crossed that threshold! Good luck and hang in there. You have my sympathies.

The good news is that within the next 5-10 years, there will be incredible changes to how we diagnose infections. The idea that we are still using the same culture strategies for the last 50+ years is insane. Who's to say that the organism that grows in a culture is the actual infection? Nothing is sterile in the human body and there are little microorganisms growing everywhere. What's the odds that the organism that grew in the culture is the actual pathogen when there are literally dozens of organisms in the human sinus & respiratory tract? Fair at best and highly dependent on who takes and runs the culture. The research into genetic testing of the human "biome" is amazing. The results these guys are getting is unbelievable and I expect we'll all benefit very quickly given the rate of increase in the clinical uses. These guys can take a sample and give you the composition, amount, and percentage of each organism very exactly. Then, they can track when a new organism or one of the "old" colonized organisms, starts growing out of proportion to what it should. Amazing stuff. Hopefully will eliminate some of this BS that a lot of parents are going through.
you may have to explain this to me better over a cold one in Jan.

When I cross the finish line for the marathon, I'll see if I can snag 3 extra medals for you guys. You will clearly have earned them. ;)

I think that only comes at Club Level.

I actually ran a marathon once where every runner was assigned their own, personal assistant. Of course, that was because the marathon was 150 laps of an indoor track - you tend to lose count after awhile, so members of the girls track team were assigned to count for you. Surely Disney can do no less!

Well I will take care of my roomies. They wont have to worry about any kind of line forming at the fridge door.I have come up with a fast pass system similar to Disneys that will eliminate the line.It is kinda on the line of the rule of 3.Never come back from the fridge unless you have 3 beverages in your hands, one for each roomie.:thumbsup2

You ran around a track 150 times???? :scared: I can't imagine how boring that must get? :confused3

I think I got smarter reading that, but at the same time it made me feel dumber. :rotfl2::rotfl:

Welcome to the club.

HELP! I've fallen and I can't reach my beer!
Now that is what I call a serious problem.

Eventually, it becomes just a mindless slog. The funny thing was that it is an indoor race because it is a January marathon in Minnesota. And, the weekend that I did it, it was warmer than the Disney marathon. :rotfl2: I bragged to my friends that I ran a marathon in a pleasant, 65 degree environment, with plenty of aid stations and college girls cheering me on, while they froze their $(&*$% off running along the highways around WDW. (Naturally, I had to practice saying it so that I didn't sound envious of the fact that, when they finished, they were still at WDW, and I was still in a fieldhouse.)

Looks like the list of Dads for the DDC is growing ever so slightly.I know Aaron is trying to get things together for it,so any info guys can get to him would help out with the planning:thumbsup2

Howdy... hate to say too much... but there will be multiple Podcasts. How many? :confused3

It's a great idea. I'm looking forward it.

Two days of the swim lessons + 2 hr soccer camp madness are done. Only two to go. Got my run in yesterday (but gads, it was hot - heat index of 100, I think), but it was neither pleasant nor fast. Today probably won't be any better, either. Can't wait for winter - I'd rather run in sub-freezing temps, because I can always add another layer. They won't let you take off too much and still going running through the city streets. ;)

The ole credit card got hit hard with the registration fees for the marathon in Jan - between Goofy for me, and the marathon (I think) for DW, our bank account is now huddled in the corner, weeping softly.

It's been hard these past few days stuck inside the house. Next week, with some make-up days, we have four consecutive softball games. They will be tired.

That sounds like a great marathon plan.

I guess you'll find out how good that Disney insurance is and what it covers. :rotfl2:

I thought if you were running, then it would be from the police.

I tried understanding this, but my brain kept substituting the words, "The knee bone's connected to the...thigh bone..." etc.
