DIS Dads DDC XVIII - Spring Fever!

Monday morning ownage.

Have him sufficiently cowered that he would not dare. Plus made sure to tell him I was watching on TV. The kid shook my hand like 20 times when he came over and then when they came back after the game. Overly polite.

OH, and don't you have 2 girls and will be where I am now in a few years? Revenge is sweet my friend.

Oh man you are not kidding. It was after two before I was able to drift off last night, back up by 5 Tossed and turned and barely slept with what I had. Dinner didn't sit well, and cleaning aggrivated my dust issues, so really having breathing issues. Overall I am a mess (more then usual, anyways) Cat also likes the nighttime to be active gotta break him of that

Hope you're ok! Breathing is very underrated.

Haven't been online since Friday, so I'm behind. On top of that, playing phone tag with insurance people and dealing with all that BS, while having my nerves on edge that everytime DW calls, it will be time to drop everything and run to the hospital... I really thought we were going last night.

Hope you get a break, too--or at least some good news.

Been away from the DIS too long to catch up on everything. Hope everyone had a good week!

Our trip to Ohio went very well. It was nice to finally see my parents again... first time back since my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma, went through the chemo treatments, and is now recovering and declared cancer free! She's looking good for what she's gone through.

DD got her first BB gun while there. She's been asking for months to get one and we decided it was time to get it. She's a natural shooter like her dad Even had her shoot the XD9 and handled it well! Her favorite, though, was plinking away with the Ruger 10/22 scoped rifle. Now she wants to put a scope on her Daisy single pump!

DW and I managed to keep the gem mine visit a secret until we got to the hotel on Friday night. She knew something was up when we weren't pulling into our driveway! Here's a shot from when we pulled into the West Virginia welcome center:

DD absolutely LOVED the visit at the mine. Quite frankly, so did I! Couldn't have asked for better weather... 75 and sunny. Could have stayed all day, but we were pretty beat from all the traveling and we were all looking forward to our cozy beds.

Ended up buying a rock tumbler yesterday! I'll take more pics of the loot when I get a chance. Got some really nice looking gems. In all we took home pieces of amazonite, pink amethyst, mica, quartz, and garnet. If you are interested, the web site for the mine is here:

Morning Dads...

Happy Monday - or just Monday if you prefer.

I'm pleased to report that the swelling in my eye has gone down and I was able to wake up this morning to find that it was still ok.

Now, I just have to get through the next 10 hours of work only to go home and have to mow the grass.

Any of you dads have any experience with zero-turn mowers? I'm thinking of biting the bullet and buying one. Been leaning toward the Hustler brand.

It's snowing outside! Now I can drain the gas from the snow blower. Always that last April storm that comes.

Hi Everyone. Been a busy time around the ole homestead. DW's parents are here "helping". Basically, they're sugaring up Madison and Evan with tons of junk food and letting them get away with a lot more than the kids know they're allowed to get away with. So basically, not helping at all. They head back to Florida tomorrow morning, so we'll finally be able to figure out what our routine will be and we can settle into it. Bambi is looking forward to it more than I am. <-wave goodbye.

I'm back at work today and tomorrow, then took the rest of the week of. Then back Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. Sure is hard to be sitting here when I could be at home napping with Ryder.

I think I caught up on most of the goings on around here.

Andy - sorry about the truck. Glad everyone is OK. Good luck with the new baby, whenever she decides to show up. The last few weeks of waiting are the worst. Hope everything goes smoothly and she's home on time.

I hear ya. My back is still hurting, but now I have an allergy cough, which hurts my back even more. I took an Allegra D and Lortab, and am buzzing here in the office. No work will get done today.

Hope that starts to ease up a little. Never nice to have to work in those conditions.

Oh - I'm familiar with using them - I used to work for a lawn care company back in my college days during the summer. I can whip one around like nobody's business.

I'm just trying to find out about brands and reliability and such.
