My story for the day. My down-the-street neighbor just got U-verse. When the technician was over, the tech told them as bad as their DSL was, it wasn't as bad as "the guy up the street." That's me. So, I've known my internet is junk for a while (it takes a full 45 seconds for my computer to open the dining plan PDF). So, I called AT&T (DSL and Phone service provider) and I explained my problem of slow internet. I asked very politely for internet that worked, and was not expensive. That didn't happen.

Then, I called AT&T and asked very rudely for internet that was not expensive. It didn't happen, and I was transfered to the supervisor where I said if they didn't at least try to work with me, I'd leave their internet service.
Charter (cable internet) is scheduled to come out on Friday, and their replacing the phone service as well.

I gave AT&T 3 chances to take my money, and they wouldn't work with me. We've had AT&T for everything for a long time, and I feel bad for leaving. But our internet is down to 1.2 mbps, and we pay for 3, and sorry, in 2012, 3 mbps that only goes 1.2 is a gip.

And when you left Williamsburg and passed Richmond, what happened? HMMM?? Did the horn stop working? As one of the three Disdads I've ever met, I expected a courtesy-honk. I'll just assume it was early and you didn't want to wake us up.

Your right my bad I don't remember passing Richmond, I did see signs, we came up 64 to 295 to 95, I think Richmond was a little west, but I'm not sure, but I won't let it happen again

Do you have passes to Kings Dominion or Busch Gardens we will be there again in June & Sept, who knows Don might actually show up at Busch Gardens one of those trips

We have dial-up. The high speed is across the river on the other side of the holler. I have to come into the office or use my I-Phone if I want to get on the internet.

DW and I managed to keep the gem mine visit a secret until we got to the hotel on Friday night. She knew something was up when we weren't pulling into our driveway! Here's a shot from when we pulled into the West Virginia welcome center:

DD absolutely LOVED the visit at the mine. Quite frankly, so did I! Couldn't have asked for better weather... 75 and sunny. Could have stayed all day, but we were pretty beat from all the traveling and we were all looking forward to our cozy beds.

I should be getting caught up on paperwork and grant reporting. Instead I am checking in on you gents and just polished off 1/2 a box of Girl Scout Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies. I have my priorities straight.

Cub Scouts was an interesting evening. Pledge, hand out the wallet kit, snack, and sit around until it was time for the meeting to end so we didn't get home too soon. DS enjoys it though so we will keep it up. Hard when there are only 3 kids that show up regularly. There are 2 or 3 other occasional scouts.

Those Do-si-dos are some good cookies. I sometimes prefer the tagalongs (the peanut butter with chocolate), but mostly, it's do-si-dos.

Wow you got that snacking down pat, snack at Cub scouts, then you cross enemy lines to eat Girl scout cookies, I think you may be a double agent

When I went back to work today after 3 days off, of course the guy who took my place called out 1 day (sat) no one there on Sun Double work for me

You would think with it being in the 80's the freezer is the place to be

Even though the main box is 30 below, I only wore 2 T shirts today, you can adjust to the cold a lot better then adjusting to 110 degree difference coming out. I guess I am the coolest guy in town
