Gentlemen: I've just gotten back from a President's Day weekend trip. We had a great time at MK and EPCOT. I'd like to take the occasion of my 400th post to lift a tall cold one in your general direction and offer this toast.

May your next Disney vacation be only a short time away, may your ADR's be exactly what you hoped for. May your wife and kids be as excited as you are and may all your days truly be magical.

Well said Ray! Thanks for the lift!

We got about 4 inches of wet snow last night. Which is when I love the fact that I come in to work so much earlier than everyone else. The roads aren't yet full of people doing 20 mph under the speed limit and on really good mornings like today - I beat the snowplow down the side street that my office is on. Hit the gas, break the back end loose and fishtail for 1/3 of a mile!:banana:

Ah...the joys of the frozen tundra :thumbsup2

Just got word that my brother was taken to the hospital. He is fighting cancer and treatments haven't worked. Probably entering renal failure and only has a few days left. Waiting for an update before I leave for Tampa.

Oh, man. I'm really sorry to hear that, CJ. Praying for your family.

So my next two Disney trips are officially booked. :) Will be in Florida for a convention in Ft. Lauderdale in late April, heading up to WDW for a few days following that, staying at OKW. And the entire family will be heading down for a week during the blistering month of July. The boys will be treated to a concert in Orlando - The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, and we're thinking of doing Hoop-Dee-Doo as a family, but not the parks. Should be a nice, relaxing week. We'll be at AKV over in Kidani, with a Savannah view. :cool1: I'm so looking forward to it all!

What dates in July will you be there? I only ask because of a certain other family that will be staying at Kidani in July...:rolleyes1

STOP THAT Stopher, I have to wait until December before I will be at Kidani. I was not able to be there at all in 2011. We checked out of THV on 1 Jan 2011.

Great pics, Stopher, but, yeah, it makes the next trip seem so far away.

I received the emails about background check and drug test today. I sent off the background check authorization today and will go tomorrow for the drug test. I was a bit put off as the instructions say "Applicant: Be prepared to provide sufficient quantity of urine and upto 3 hours to complete the test."

I suggest you take all 3 hours to pee.

CJ, I hope that today is filled with better news. You, you brother, and the rest of your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh man - so close yet again... I fly out the evening of the 3rd. :sad2: Bummer.

Wait... has anyone seen Stopher and CJ in the same room? Hmmm...

:cool1: Called tonight to make some ADR's this is what I got so far

- Whispering Canyon 5pm
- Teppon Edo 4pm

And the most important ressie
Got the 12noon at Harmony Barbershop:banana:

We got our younger DD's first haircut there a few years ago. It was a pretty great experience all around.

The most impressive thing is that he does this in a front-wheel-drive car...

Stopher, There's another family going to be at OKW from April 21-27 :cool1: What are your dates?

Well, what might the dates be of that certain other family? :confused3

We're there for 7 nights in mid-July, but with my luck of missing people, we're probably going to miss you too. 14-21. I looked last night when I posted that comment, and saw no one else on the trips calendar on page 1. Which reminds me, I need to tell Don myself.

Jimmy still watching you guys... Don't forget...

We used to have twice a year "random" drug tests at work. We were all standing in the hallway across from one of the corporate bathrooms and the new HR person (it's always the new person;)) gives us the instructions on what to do after we go into the bathroom. Then asks if there are any questions, I tried to contain myself but couldn't, I raised my had and said:

"Will the lotion and magazines be provided or should we have brought our own?"

That was the last time I was "Randomly" selected.

We're going to be there from July 21-25. But we'll be driving all day from SC on the 21st, so I don't anticipate arriving until the evening...

That's funny right there. I don't care who you are.

Sounds like an awesome trip.

Very well said - in fact, I think the part in bold should go on the first page as a motto, or creed, or some saying-inator! :confused3

Morning Dads and Duck!

Good news is, the big snowstorm they called for hasn't hit yet, bad news, it's still very cold and very wet (rain). Going to make for a very delightful wakl to school this morning:headache:

Have a good one guys.

No huge storm - but all school buses cancelled... Ugggg...

Mornin' guys.

I just received a call from my dad telling me that my grandfather passed away last night. Last Thursday he took a fall and broke his clavicle. Saturday he was sent to the hospital because he had uncontrolled vomiting due to the meds he was on. They also found he had a touch of pneumonia.

Is it wrong that I am not overly sad? My grandfather was 96 years old. He lost my grandmother to alzheimer's about 12 years ago. It was so hard watching her decline. She had to go into a nursing home and he was there everyday from morning to night. He was heartbroken when she passed. He has been living with my dad for about 6 years. He was really slowing down, he has fallen a few times over the last year and wasn't steady on his feet anymore. He had glaucoma, had to do breathing treatments 4 times day, and had to take numerous pills every day.

He was a WWII vet. He was the captain on oyster boat in Long Island Sound for a number of years. He was a recovered alcoholic and hadn't touched a drink in over 50 years. He cared for his 3 sons, his 8 grandchildren, and his 7 great grandchildren.

He will be missed but I know he is in a better place with my grandmother.

Here is a picture of 4 generations taken this summer after Christopher's baptism.

Thinking of changing my December days from the actual week of Christmas to the first week of December. It will mean pulling DS out of school for a week but hey, its Disney so he'll probably learn more than if he were in class anyways.

Prayers for you and your family. We all experience grief differently. It is good to rejoice that he is reunited with your grandmother.
