Afternoon all!!!

Well I survived another round of our annual "Who's getting fired today?" lottery. The good news is my team is still intact, the bad news is now they are all paranoid (more than usual anyways) that they are next.

They got rid of our IT Security Manager but he got tipped off, since HR sent a list of people to revoke the security access to him that morning.....DOH! He was a good friend so as his parting gift to me he entered an exception in the security system to open Disboards back up for me.

Wow...talk about a secuirty issue...:lmao::lmao:

Man, that really sucks...I really wonder if there's a light at the end of this tunnel:confused3

Now you can go back to destroying Ranger Bass Boat seats:lmao::lmao:

You have no idea how tempted I am to go into an Executive meeting in flip flops and Hawaiian shirt...:lmao::lmao:

You have to go to meetings? That's terrible.

Glad you made it. My coworker who was going to get fired got a dr. note as is on permanent sick leave while she files for disability. Makes you proud.

I come in about 15 minutes late. I use the back entrance, so Lumberg doesn't see me. Then I sit at my desk and kinda space out for an hour or so.
.

That 200 mile cushion works well for me. Plus, I have work email on my phone and call forwarding from the office. I'm there working right now.

It's the government...we can find all kinds of ways to waste your money...but when all else fails, we hold a meting.

It's not a meeting, really. It's a pre-planning brainstorming gathering to come up with guidelines for laying out a proposed agenda to use for the session where we will actually build a good foundation for the meeting next month.

Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup...

Mark, can we talk about your TPS reports? Did you get the memo about using the new cover sheets?

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

I'm going to need my stapler...

I do see that he's got his hard hat on to deal with that "pigeon" problem.

That problem seems to get worse every day.

And THAT is how you get PWNED by a farmer the interwebz....

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

::yes::

Ugh. Sorry about the office environment. Glad you're back on the boards, though! And that you're still employed.

Amen.

*shudder* Sounds like you've been in our project status meetings.

:laughing:My little buddy called me the other week and asked if I wanted to come out for an afternoon, I think it was his way of bringing up the seats again, I politely declined.

Since there's a lot of interest in this subject...:rolleyes1

First of all, seed corn is sold under many different names, but almost all seed corn companies are either owned by or have a signed agreement go get their genetics from one of 3 companies. They are Monsanto, Syngenta and DuPont(Pioneer).

Just to show how much people from Chicago know about corn, Dekalb IS Monsanto. So to answer Brian's initial inquiry, their yeilds ought to be pretty darn close to the same.:rolleyes1

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

:headache::headache:
I suppose that's what I get for trying to appear knowledgable about corn. This is clearly more Andy's topic. (or Barry's on the post processing side of the equation)

Hi Randy! Glad to have you back.

Hopefully your team stays clear of the Bobs.

DAD UPDATE:
As part of the surgery, they pump him full of "air" to allow for better room to do the procedure.

Now it's time for the gas to come out! :rotfl2:!

The gas is funny. Glad to hear about your dad.

What if - and believe me this is hypothetical - but what if you were offered some kind of a stock option equity sharing program. Would that do anything for you?

I don't know, I guess. Listen, I'm gonna go. It's been really nice talking to both of you guys.

A Crossing Kansas Story…

Waaaaay back in 73 (the middle of the oil embargo), my family took a cross-country drive from Miami to Denver to visit my Aunt and see what we could see. The vehicle of choice was a 66 Olds F-85 (not your common car). This ride had a radio in it that had long since stopped working. It simply would not pick up any station anywhere. On the return trip back toward home, we crossed the Colorado Front Range and entered Kansas. With in a mile or two, the radio kicked in (apparently it had always been turned on and just couldn’t pick up any signal). Not only did it pick up a station, it picked up one clear across the state in Kansas City. We had music and conversation to listen to the entire day. When we crossed into Missouri that evening the station started to loose signal and was gone in less then ten miles. That radio never worked again after that.

True Story.

Really!

Did you at least have your iPad with 3G and the kids busy with there Nintendo DS? :rotfl:

;)

DAD UPDATE:

Talked to my Dad earlier and he sounded in good spirits.

Amazingly, he told me he just finished a couple of laps around the floor. :scared1: He said he it felt great to be able to get out of that bed.

Still has some pain. He said the worst part of the whole thing is all of the "gas pent up inside". :eek:

As part of the surgery, they pump him full of "air" to allow for better room to do the procedure.

Now it's time for the gas to come out! :rotfl2:

He says the walking helps! :thumbsup2

I told him to make sure he doesn't asphyxiate any of the nurses!

Hmmm... is that where you get it from? ;)

Glad to see he is out and aboot... (that's right - I said aboot - I've earned the right!)

Seriously though Chamomile tea - helps with gas pains. :thumbsup2

AND if you get lost in a field full of any ofit...I can help you find your way out...without calling 911...

unless your from Chicago...then you are on your own. :lmao:

Hey there!

Just got home from taking my wife, and 2 of my kids, plus hanging with a friend's family, while seeing Star Wars: Episode I. It was great to see on the big screen again - not so worth the extra for the 3D aspect. I'm not sure I "get" this whole convert stuff into 3D just because mindset coming from Hollywood. I would have been just fine seeing it regularly once more... but hey, it was fun, and cool And it satisfied 2 of my 3 to see it. (The eldest wasn't snubbed - he's just at "that age' where it's not cool to hang out with mom & dad... so he's going tonight with his friends).

Getting ready to go administer swim tests tonight. Fun, fun! The heat & humidity of the indoor pool will surely offset the 33 & flurries outside.

We did that drive, too. That is a painful one. I also remember Iowa as being 4 hours of corn.
...

I lived in Iowa for 3 years. Coldest place I have ever lived but nice if you don't mind the occasional "exposed flesh warning". Just be careful not to expose your flesh and you are good.

Norm, your picture of MK.
Reminded me of this piture of DLP

R-Paris011.jpg

Very nice pic.

The thing as a whole was better then than now.
Now it is just a big acrobatic, stunt filled, soap opera.

I blame Vince

But, the story line of Stone Cold and the antics of the Rock - people's eyebrow - were hilarious.

I will argue with this point... especially in this economy. I have younger sisters who are twins and they graduated with a bachelors degree in animal science in 2008. One of them has been working an hourly job with no benefits on a thoroughbred farm since graduation. She makes next to nothing, gets no insurance or paid vacation and puts in longer hours than I do.

Norm made a comment that everyone should be required to take a class on financial planning. I completely agree with this statement.

I'm going to encourage my children to get college degrees - or make them - but I've also met enough people that really couldn't make it. I would rather a person have a skill - like plumbing, welding, HVAC - that they could make a decent living at as opposed to a bunch of student loans with no chance of a career.

On pure wrestling ability, Hogan and The Giant don't come close my friend.

Terrible wrestlers. Great stories.

Good Morning... Stumbled on this thread this morning.. Wish I found it sooner..

I am DizJohn aka John from Connecticut currently planning 2 Disney Vacations

July 2012 WDW off property and driving from CT
Feb 2013 Disney Fantasy

Worked in the Disney Stores in the 90's and proposed to my wife in front of the Castle in Disneyland

Welcome. Dues may be paid in dole whips, bacon, cake, or beer.

I know that is what he said but I don't agree. I would have to say Andre and Hogan were.

"Whatcha gonna do BROTHER!! when the world of Hulkamainia and these 24" pythons come crashing down on you!!" My favorite as well. My dad actually had Real American as his ringtone........ After he got it from me..

If you still have the ringtone, will you send it to me? I'll PM my email.
