We walked into our local Disney store this morning just in time to hear that they were going to be doing a craft for the princesses in the back. DD went to the back of the sto and after a sing a long got make a princess crown out of princesses. Princesseption for the win.

I knew hat they were moving to the and make the refurbished store more of a destination, through in store events. Our store hasn't been updated, but it looks like they may be trying to extend the destination feel to all stores.

Not to mention that cool looking medal around your neck.

Lots of favorites but at the top is Boardwalk. Many great trips there including the Sweet 16 with DD and 6 of her friends. The Grand Villa was awesome.

Of course, number 2 to 7 favorites will probably change after our visit to Aluani and Grand California.

That medal didn't come off until I got to MCO and even then I debated wearing it.

I like the Boardwalk - but sadly the one time we stayed there as a family DW got sick - and so her memory of that trip is pretty clouded with yucky memories. She doesn't want to go back any time soon, unfortunately. I love the Keister Coaster!

CJ and Stopher. I've heard a lot of love expressed towards boardwalk. Is this the Boardwalk Villa's or the hotel rooms? We had looked at booking in the hotel recently and our TA recommended against it because it seems to be the most in need of refurbishment in its price category. How would you. Rate the rooms at Boardwalk.

CJ. That villa looks awesome.

Man it is a busy day today for us.....basketball trophy awards this morning....running errands afterweard...getting ready tohead to a birthday party...then to the Marshall vs Univ Central Florida basketball game. I think it is on one of the espn channels if you want to watch it at 7...I am sure the boo birds are going to be there in full force since their coach left us to go to them a few years ago...but we ended up with the better coach in the end...hope our team shows up tonight to play!:cheer2:

Wow...man, you guys hit the warp drive:lmao::lmao:

Seen some of you guys on Facebook, but it's been a crazy couple of months for me...

Maybe I can catch a break here soon..

Unbelievable what has been going on around me...

The Inn rooms have been going through updates and renovations the past year or so. Most if not all have been completed by now. They received upgraded linens, duvets and lots of plush attention. They are very nice. Disney pays for all refurbs and upgrades, and that is part of why their room rates are so high.

The villas are being updated on a rolling schedule, as all DVC villas are - but it's not as often as the non-DVC resorts. They do need some additional attention, but with the villas - the members pay for upgrades and refurbs through the annual dues. Disney only maintains/owns an inventory of rooms at each DVC resort equal to 2-3%. They pay dues on their portion just as we pay dues on our portion. Updating rooms in the DVC resorts isn't as often as it might be in the resorts Disney owns outright.

I have an electric guitar...

I don't play (wish I did)...

But mine is a Fender Stratocaster.

Anyone see Wayne's World - where Wayne sees the guitar in the window, and says "It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine". That is MY guitar. That exact one.

Autographed by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, with a Wayne's World emblem on the back.

100% real... and no, I don't play Stairway - as i don't know how. But a friend of mine did. :thumbsup2

I will post a pic of it later today.

And to prove that it is mine, and I didn't Google the pic, anyone have a request to see in the pic (obviously I can hold it) but I will still take requests... (that don't harm my guitar).

Ummmm Mickey Ears?

request received - I just sent DS to find his Mickey Pirate ears.

Never stayed at the Inn side but Stopher pretty much gave you the rundown on both. And he is right, the clown slide is cool. The GV was Awesome. I just like the ambiance of the BW area. The nighttime activities, walking distance to DHS and Epcot, plenty of restaurants...

The Pirate Princess asked me after the race if she should wear her medal around the resort. DUH! She got lots of compliments. When we got off the bus after the race, people sitting waiting for a park bus started clapping her and another runner. She felt pretty good. Well deserved all you guys.

That's really awesome. Quite a collectors piece.

Wearing the medal around post race is one of the really neat things about doing a race. The running community is generally pretty friendly and supportive, but nothing compares to the way its handled at Disney. Its pretty much accepted to wear your medal around the parks for the remainder of your trip up to about a week. The whole time people congratulate you and other runners will talk to you and commiserate about the races. It doesn't matter whether your wearing a Marathon or a 5k medal that weekend you are a "runner" part of the family and everyone will congratulate you. Hopefully you'll be able to stick around a little longer next year.

So DW just dropped the bomb. Without prompting she mentioned we might want to start looking at DVC. :) I love my wife, so I'm willing to make a sacrifice and start evaluating it.

All our dinner selections this evening... I love my 80's music.

Now that's an awesome bomb to receive.

I remember when my DW finally said - "go ahead". It only took 12 years for her to get there... but once she did... there was no turning back. But we've been quite pleased with our membership.

Evening all…
We’re still moving along at a pretty good clip I see. I guess I’ll just start here then.

Very cool
How exactly did you come to be in possession of this particular Strat?

I have thirteen mistresses (my DW’s description of the various guitars in the house).
Here’s the two that are my workhorses…

That’s Ann of the left (Taylor 510ce) and Christine on the right (Fender American VG Strat), and yes… they all have names. I was just about to sit down and restring both of them, when I ran across your post, We’ve got a 9am service to work in the morning (with a 7:30m rehearsal) and I intend to make very sure that the congregation is wide awake by the time were finished.

DW was just thinking about the trips we are talking about coming up and she was like "Maybe we should just by into DVC" . As an aside since my last post I've already called and talked with DVC. Can't do anything till the end of the month, but it looks good.

DD had medal envy when we left seeing everyone wear their marathon medal. "I feel like such a slacker, just running the half." She vowed to do the marathon. And then the Goofy.

Congrats on marrying such an intelligent woman. Good luck doing your research and making a decision.

I was the naysayer in the family. We got a great rate at a 1BR in OKW and as soon as we entered the door, she was hooked. She told me that no matter what, we were doing this. I kept saying, "Its a TIMESHARE." After taking the tour and finding out about it, I was sold. Bought Day 1 when BW opened.

Also pleased with my membership. Lots of trips, lots of memories.

Oh that's awesome. I love it - "I've already called and talked with DVC." I would have done the same thing! :rotfl:

Oh yes, yes, yes. We have definitely used our membership well - with so many years yet to come. My goodness. With all we've done so far, we've definitely paid for our membership already. Such great accomodations for all of those trips too. I can't imagine squeezing back into a traditional room anymore. I hate it when we have to for any reason. We're definitely spoiled by it all. DW refused to have any kind of timeshare for so long - but then she started to think, "well maybe with Disney." Finally she told me Disney was the only timeshare she would ever consider, and the day she said go ahead, was the day I initiated the deal with our guide. And 7 add-on's later... you might say we are definitely hooked - and HAPPY.

Here's a Treehouse shot, in honor of Ryan's DW having dropped the DVC bomb on him today. :thumbsup2
