DW is too.

Did I ever tell you that she met MJ? Yep, she did. I can't remember which function he showed up for at the LACounty Music Center - but she did.
That is awesome!!!!

We had a lot of fun working there. I met Elizabeth Taylor, Tom Hanks, Stephen Speilberg, George Lucas, Marissa Tomei, and others. DW even refused Tom Cruise entry into the Governor's Ball at the Academy Awards one year. It was hilarious.
That's some list. :thumbsup2

Why did she refuse Tom? :confused3

Plus I'm only 67 (after this one) away from the next mini-milestone on the way to my next big milestone.

He didn't have his ticket with him - had separated from the group he was originally walking with, and his wife and the ticket in her hand. She'd already gone in. You can imagine he wasn't all too happy. But rules were rules, and DW was having such fun with her power over the celebrities. There were a couple of other lesser known ones too that I don't recall right now who she turned away as well.

That is funny... I'm sure he got in at some point. popcorn::

So I just finished taking down my Dept 56 display. The last vestige of the Christmas season. It's pretty big, as it takes up the entire space along our entertainment center. 22 buildings - 3 of which are Disney buildings. I have the Disneyland Fire Station, plus the two Antique shop buildings from Liberty Square at the MK - back when Disney actually had licensed buildings with Dept. 56 instead of going their own route as they did about a decade ago.

Oh yeah. After going to the other entrance to the ball - and was refused again - h fumed for a bit, then stepped back, pulled out his phone and called his wife, who had to bring it to him. He wasn't too complimentary to the staff that night - lots of "don't you know who I am?!?" & similar crap. Here she was 21 at the time, and LOVING every moment of it.

Sweet!

I've seen numerous online reports of it. Can't wait to see it for myself.

I'm thinking that will be sometime in March. Possibly.

So I shared mine over on the DDC FB page last night...

... which is YOUR favorite resort?

My middle son is SO EXCITED about finally being able to see Star Wars on the big screen. Can't wait for Phantom Menace to be released in 3D in February.

He's never seen any on the big screen. I saw all 6 that way. He's very jealous of me.

GC was amazing. Theming that exceeded WL with the convenience of the Contemporary. It also didn't hurt that they upgraded us from the lowest room category to a 5 th floor paradise pier room, and brought balloons and autographed pictures from Ariel and Mickey for the kids.

We also really like BeachClub. We love the theming, it didn't hurt having a room there on the end from which we could see parts of illuminations. We also celebrated DW being cancer free there so it will always have a special place in My families heart.

 Hi Don.

Don't be too :furious: with me since I'm :drive: away with this new thread.

Just having fun :chat: and filling some :hourglass

That kind of magic never hurts!

Yes, the GC is amazing. It is my absolute favorite.

That is so awesome. Yes, I can see why it would have a special place in your heart.

The Grand Floridian is special for me, because that's where we honeymooned. We certainly were way out of our element at 23 & 22 with all of the hoity-toity, upper class folks around - but it's special none-the-less. I wanted to take her to the "best" at the World, and that's what I did. If we had only waited 2 more months to get married we could have stayed at the Lodge, but it wasn't open yet. The theming of the Lodge is so much more our speed & style. DW grew up vacationing in Yosemite, and I in Mammoth Lakes in the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains... so WL is very much US. I keep looking for the perfect contract to add VWL to our DVC portfolio. As soon as I find it, I'll be all over it.
