Also want to welcome back Wally. We are truly international. Need to get some UK members.

We have at least one UK DisDad - Lawsontour. He seems to be around the Facebook group more than here though.

I just updated the parent themes - it's all yours. :)
I took a look and it looks like my changes were applied. I dug around some more looking for an option to change the width of the polls but it looks like that'd have to be done with a css edit.

Well, my finals are given and graded. My semester grades are submitted to the university. I have one minor two page document to draft. After that it's pack the suitcases and the van. We sleep tonight at my in-laws near Des Moines. We sleep tomorrow in Pop Century. :thumbsup2 Seven days in WDW followed by six days with my parents on the Gulf Coast and another four days at my inlaws when we return. What a great way to end the year!

Since I'm not likely spend much time checking or posting to the boards until after Christmas let me wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS :santa:

You, too, Ben! Have a great trip!

THIS

I also found out about some stuff that's coming at work, while I was at WDW, that's making it difficult to post much. I managed to pretty much ignore it until I got home, but at this point I'm sort of in a permanently cranky spot, and it's probably the better part of valor that I refrain from posting much. I fear I'd say something I regret. I'll post a full Rant in the appropriate thread here in a bit. I probably need to get that off my chest before we record a podcast tonight.

Hang in there, buddy. Is that how you Kansans swear?

I've always favored the sandwich heavy portfolio.

My portfolio has gotten more diversified since the merger with DW. I'm still heavy on PB cups, and I've taken far too much out of Bacon and red meat to appease her tastes.

more members from the University of Kentucky? :confused3

I'd like to see 2012 be a better year as well. But what is this warm weather you speak of? We've all got our jackets on in the office. Stupid crappy windows
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Duct tape works well on those windows. At work one year, before the window office was removed to lower morale further, I used quite a bit on the inside to seal the windows. It worked.

I've always favored the sandwich heavy portfolio.

I tried an alcohol portfolio but found I couldn't stand for long, had memory lapses, and my investment kept getting flushed down the toilet

We have never done Hoop De Doo either.

We usually do 1 signature dining per trip, and next trip it is Hoop De Doo... We are looking forward to it.

We did HDDR and SOA dinner. They were both good. I liked SOA better. The food was great and I enjoyed the live dancing. But, if the weather wasn't perfect at SOA or you did not get front row seats, it wouldn't be as good. HDDR's food is ok and the show was really funny. It has some slapstick and some over kid head humor as well. Both are worth it. My dad asked to go back to SOA, but not HDDR. But, we had Cat 2 seats on side for HDDR & Cat 1 front/ center for SOA.

Good portfolio ID. We all know we need more UK fans here. I guess just not as many are cool enough to be Disney fans as well. Am i matched up.against you in fantasy this week?

DW is making her 3 types of homemade Christmas candy - peppermint & white choc bars, peanut butter balls, and Oreo bon bons. I am quality control. I've encouraged her to start her own candy business - they are really good.

The sig is correct. 8 mos. He has started teething, and has 2 teeth that have broken through recently. No signs of any more coming in at the moment. Up until a few days ago, he was taking 2 naps on a "normal" day, each one around an hour and a half to 2 hours long. One around 9-9:30am, the other around 2pm. Based on our experience with DD, we expected him to start cutting out the morning nap and keeping the afternoon one at some point. But instead it seems like he is trying out "power naps". :lmao: He fell asleep on the way back from dropping off DD at preschool, and he woke up when we came in the house. He couldn't have been asleep for more than 10 minutes. I put him down in his crib and as I type this I can hear him... not sleeping. :confused3

So far today is going the same as yesterday. Hopefully it is just a phase and he'll settle back into a routine again soon.

Ugh! I used to hate all the 5 minute rides we'd take him home from DGPs' house and bam fall asleep on the way. Once that happened we were screwed. Wake up as soob as we got in the house (barking dogs dont help)!

We never had the luck of two naps a day, so at least you had that for a time...

Good Luck!

On another note, watching Mickey's farewell on DME as I write this :(

Ok excited and unsure. I know someone can help or at least guide me. I finally got approval from the boss (DW) to upgrade from a ps2 to a ps3.:cool1::cool1: Managed to get the Uncartered 3 bundle 320gb PS3. Now questions I have are do any of you play (probably could have asked this first), and what would you suggest?

I am sure there is a disdad gaming thread (because there is a disdad thread for just about everything) and I will look for it. But if there isn't I figured I would post here.

Thanks in advance.

 Ok fellow dads I am back and should be around pretty steady for atlleast the next two years as I plan my 2013 cruise and WDW visit. Is it too early to get started? :dance3:
Where have I been...well living life and taking care of my family the best way I know how. We had originally planned a return to Florida this year, but a little event called Wrestlemania 27 came up in my original homestate and I wasn't missing that.
For those that don't know me my name is Wally. I am a dad of 5, but only my 2 daughters live with me and my wonderful wife. My oldest daughter is now 20 and driving me out of my mind at the moment. My youngest daughter is 18 and has calmed down a bit. I did a TR back in 2007 and they were just kids then. I live in Japan and my home park is Tokyo disney Resort. If you dad's ever need help with anything on this side of the ocean then I am the one to give a shout to.
Now I can't remember the last I posted on a DDC forum, but I think it was before I bought my new house.
I will say this year has been rough since March 11th here in Japan. Scared the peanut butter out of me that day I can tell you that. Things are still not back to normal...in fact I couldn't illuminate the house for Christmas this year because of the earthquake back in March, but hey there is next year. Anyway it feels good to be back and expect more in the near future.

We were worried about your during the quake, but were not sure how to reach you since you had not posted on here in so long. I am glad to know that you and your family are well!! Dont forget about us on Facebook also ..come join us over there as well!!

Have you ever had one of those days where you just wish you stayed at work and didnt come home? If not...well I am having one and it is not fun! Lauren got in trouble twice at pre school today and Ethan brought home two math papers with F's. Well, he has been getting lax for the last week or so and I have told him that he has to pay attention or else he might be in danger of having to repat 1st grade...( I cant even think that thought)...anyway the scouts were supposed to go caroling tonight so I told him he had to stay home and work math since he was not paying attention at school we were going to have school at home. Well, my Mother-In-Law was still here from where she watched the kids while we are at school...she chimes in and tells us that we are not being fair...and that obviously we dint want to go this evening anyway...kept going. I spole up and told her that she needed to stop. She kept on and then I told her that I did not appreciate how she was talking to me. after tears from everyone in the house but me she finally goes home and everthing is at Defcon 5! This was a decision that Shari and I made together on the way home from work and she blamed me for it. I told Shari that I did not like to be talked to like that in my house and that she and I were the parents not her Mother. Of course Shari is in the middle and not wanting to cross her Mom (I am the only person who will stand their ground with her and I think that is why we clash now and then). Then Shari's Dad calls to chew my butt out for upsetting Nana..luckily she told him that Nana stuck her nose in where it did not belong. I wish I was on call tonight and could go to work just to get away for a bit. I don't drink but I think I could drink till I dropped tonight! I might even start smoking too if I thought it would help!!! Ok..welll I am going to get off here...Thanks for letting me vent about how I am the worst Husband, Father, and Son-In-Law in the world!~

Steve, Good Job standing your ground :thumbsup2 You can't see me but i am giving you a standing ovation. I love my MIL, but have had to stand firm with her a couple of times as well. That is your house and no one has the right to disrespect you in it.

Wow Steve - that does not sound like a fun night.

I am sure you are not the worst Husband, Father or SIL. I think it's important to stand your ground, but you also want to do it way from the kids, it can get confusing and a tough position to be in when you fight in front of them.

I had a similar situation with my MIL years ago. We felt she was trying to be a bit to controlling in our lives, and approached her about it. All I can say is, you can't teach an old dog new tricks. She didn't take well to our talk, she felt it was more of an attack on her. It really wasn't. It did have the desired results in the end, but maybe to much... she kinda always felt she was walking on egg shells around us in the future. We would see each other still once a week, but she would be very quiet towards me, the silent treatment.

She got cancer, and passed away a few years ago. Before that we did talk it over, and smooth things out. She said to me "I don't know if you noticed but I was ignoring you for a while", I told her I did notice, and that made her somehow feel a bit better. :lmao:. We did make peace, and she even asked my father in law to make sure I was a pall-bearer at her funeral.

She really was a very sweet lady, who was loved by all that came in contact with her. I think the problems we had, is she cared to much, and wasn't aware of boundaries.

What I guess I am saying, is life is short, and you really have to ask yourself what's really important. It's a really tough situation to be in.

Good luck.

Good for you. You did nothing wrong. You can't warrant rewards for poor achievements. I have had the same kind of confrontations with my MIL for years. I tend to have a short fuse and she likes to push me sometimes. She had even threatened to call child protective services on us. More because of me but us because my wife would stand for me. And there has been times where my wife stood with her mom just because it was easier. It was to a point where my MIL was calling our kids "her boys" and that used to just turn my wife. Drove her nuts. But she wouldn't say anything. My MIL also tends to favor our oldest son so if i punish him or get on his case for something and she is around she will step in and try to bring our youngest into it somehow. Many arguments from this too.

So stand your ground. They are your kids and you were in your house. I have told my wife. If her mom can't come over here and just visit, (because she is always picking at my wife because of our house, bills, choices in general) then she doesn't have to come over. May be a bit strong but it is true. In the same lines as if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. If you can't come here to see us don't come. We will come to you...... when we have time.

Behind again. This working thing is just getting in the way of everything.... And only 44 days left. with Christmas and New years and Hunting in there. Maybe I should have started a TR a little sooner.......

I don't remember who it was that said it but I do beleive that this post would qualify as a shameless plug. Nothing much there yet. Just started. And work is in the way again. Talk to you all later.

Hope everything is going well with everyone.

:surfweb:

Shameless plug...TR updated....with pics :thumbsup2
