DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

I had weigh in tonight. I had a loss of .8 lbs. That sounds like so little until someone said to me you lost 3 1/2 sticks of butter. Now that is perspective. I'm down 16.2 lbs overall.

One of our topic tonight was how people will intentionally sabbotage you. One lady said that when people are trying to push food on her she responds with "Thank you, but I'm alleric to (insert food here). Yeah, everytime I eat it I breakout in FAT" She says that it works like a charm everytime as the person breaks out laughing and walks away. So, with the holidays approaching keep that in mind :rotfl:

Good job Deb, :woohoo: :woohoo: .8 is almost a pound. Its better than staying the same or a gain. :thumbsup2

I love that response.

My goal is to add exercise to my weekly routine. I am still maintaining - I go up a couple pounds and then down a couple of pounds. I stay within 3 pounds of my initial goal weight. However, I need to get the exercise. Not as much for the weight loss as for feeling better.
Good job on maintaining. :thumbsup2 Just start with a small amount of excercise and work up to more. Even if you do 5 minutes a day, it is better than nothing. :yay:

I'm down 2.2 pounds. For a total loss of 61 pounds. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Congrats to those of you who are losing, everyone else hang in there. Make healthy choices and keep moving.

Way to go Becky. 61 lbs is more than my 9 year old weighs :rotfl: You've lost a whole little person. I could really see a difference in the pictures you posted. Keep up the good work.

Glynis, less than 4 weeks!

Kyle and I did 12.7 miles today, the longest run on our schedule! We went from here to my parents house on an EXTREMELY hilly course. I absolutely tore up my knee, but we stayed under 15:00/mile and made it to the end! I feel like we'll definitely be prepared for Florida's flat roads after today, that's for sure! That is, if I can walk again by then.... :rolleyes1

Hope your training, etc is going well!

I can't believe it's almost here! I'm a bit scared!!!! I hope I'll make it to the end. Training has been kind of hit or miss lately. I hate the icy sidewalks I'm dealing with. I do work on the treadmill, but it's just not as easy as walking outside. My kids know that if I workout at home, it's easy to interrupt me. Grrr.

Congratulations on the run!!! Tackling hills is admirable! I'm glad to know that the Florida course will be flat. That makes me breathe a bit easier.

Can't wait to see you!!!

I know that both of you can do it. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: While it is not hilly in the technical sense, you have to remember that there are on and off ramps and other things with an incline. :thumbsup2

I wish all the marathoners the best of luck. That was a hefty goal that you set, but I'm proud of you guys for sticking to it. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, I actually checked them out when we were there in June. I wouldn't call them hills! :rotfl: Thanks for the reminder, though! It definitely beats the straight up and down garbage (that goes on forever) around here! :rotfl:

I know it is the same way around here, my driveway is probably more hilly than the course. :teeth: However you don't really realize they exist unless you are doing something like that or marching 5 miles in a parade or something similar. Lots of people expect completly flat and that isn't quite the case.

I am so proud of you, Glynis, Ellen and any other half or full marathoners for sticking to your training. I know you can finish and do well. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi ya'll I am back from my trip.
I did not go weigh-in tonight...I have felt really yucky since getting back late Sunday. I am going to go face the music tomorrow night though & I am not looking forward to it. I was bad, bad, bad & ate alot, but I am back on track starting today so I will just keep swimming :fish: & face those scales no matter what they say. I can't have gained back 45 lbs in a week. :lmao:
Good job everyone that lost, maintained while I was gone.
I hope you half marathoners are keeping your spirits up..Jen, Glynnis you can do it. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
Here's to getting back on track after an awesome vacation...it was worth every pound I am sure I have gained.
If you want to read about my trip....a link to my trip report is in my signature. I have 2 days up.

For anyone doing weight watcher's I thought I'd let you know that they have rolled out their 2007 plan. It is a bit different from what we have been doing. The most noticable change is the amount of points a person can now consume. There is a 5 question test that you take. The results determine how many points you should eat. For me it was 21. I've been doing 20 so no big deal. Chris on the other hand has been doing 24 points. The new method has him consuming 37 points per day. I don't understand how this is supposed to work, but he says that he'll give it a try. If he starts to gain he'll go back to 24 points :rotfl: I haven't had time to read all the info yet. They have made all new books and started kits etc. Anything to make a buck.

Deb

Interesting Deb.....I hate change, especially when things are working well for me.

I didn't make to weigh in tonight.......I was at work until almost 6. Hopefully I will make it tomorrow night.

In case I forget, good luck to all of the marathoners. I'm really proud of all of you for working so hard toward this goal.

Hi everybody.....boy is this a busy time of year.

I did finally go weigh in last week on Thursday & only gained 1.5lbs while on my trip/cruise. Not too bad. I am pretty well back on track, but have no idea if I will get to a meeting or not this week.

Keep on swimming everybody :fish:. Let's all do the best we can in this busy holiday week.

I third the way to go :thumbsup2 we are proud of you to the half/whole marathoners. Keep up your training. You can do it!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Christmas-Minnie-Mickey-Claus.jpg

Wanted to say this earlier, but last time I had time to check yesterday the boards were still down.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY DIS WEIGHT LOSS BUDDIES!!!!!!!!!
Hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas.
I have been bad all week, but guess I will go face the music & weigh in tomorrow night if I am not too tired after work.
Is anyone exhausted from too much Christmas? :santa:

The dreaded day arrived and I went to face the music. Between my back issues and the holidays I have not been dieting at all. I thought for sure that I was going to have a big weight gain. I didn't even bother weighing in in my official Tuesday weigh in outfit. Much to my surprise I was only up .2 lbs and I hadn't weighed in in 2 weeks. Now I'm glad that I went and got it over with. The anticipation was much worse than the reality. Now if the doctor can just figure out what is going on with my back I will be all set to begin exercise next week.

I hear you about the anticipation! I've been dreading weighing myself too. Once I did, however, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I'm still maintaining. I haven't risen above 128, so I'm happy about that. As of this morning, I'm at 126.6. I'm so happy about that!

Deb, I hope they can figure out what is going on with your back. It worries me that it's still causing so much pain after so long. I'm sending lots of:wizard: for your appointment tomorrow!

Deb, I sure hope they figure out what is wrong with your back.:wizard: :wizard:

Good job on basically mainating these past few weeks.

I was very suprised this morning when I stepped on the scale and had lost 1.8 pounds in the past week.:woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay:
