Glynis, we'll really have to find a time to meet up, even if it's just for a picture or two before/after the race! :thumbsup2

Great job on another 2.4lbs Ellen you are awesome!!!!!! :thumbsup2

Great job on the losses, everyone! Little by little we are getting there! We are AWESOME!

Congratulations Elin and Melanie.

I had a slight gain of .4 lbs this week. I think it was just a different outfit and I drank 1/2 a bottle of water on my way to the meeting. My home scales are still going down so I'm happy.

Deb

Congrats Elin and Melanie on the losses. Everyone else hang in their and just keep making healthier choices. :thumbsup2 You can do this. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi everybody. Checking in for the week. I stayed the same this week, but after my really good loss last week that is ok with me. :thumbsup2

We are approaching a hard time of year to be watching your weight. Just stay focused everybody & keep on making good choices & healthy decisions. Even if you just maintain this time of year that is a big victory.

Just keep swimming :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

I agree, this is a tough time of year. I chose not to weigh in last night as I had a cub scout event and I'm very bloated. I am stay on track though. My little guy starts school today, I can't believe that he is growing up so fast. Thankfully I'm happy for him and not stressed about it. Keep up the good work. Maybe we should all find some healthy recipes that we could make to take to holiday parties and share them here. If we bring a healthy choice then at least there will be 1 item at each party that we can have :thumbsup2

Deb

Well, for me it's PMS week. I'm not losing any weight, but I'm not really gaining any either. I guess that's ok.

Deb - I like your idea about sharing healthy recipes. I'll have to look and see what I can find.

Have a good week, everyone!!! Just keep trying. Together we'll make it through the holiday season!

That is a great idea Deb...........I will start.

I made this pumpkin pie recipe from Weight Watchers magazine last year & it was really good. Really couldn't tell it was a WW recipe.

Pumpkin-spice pie............4 pts per slice. 8 slice pie.

2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp salt
1 15oz can pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling just plain pumpkin)
2 egg whites
2 tbsp molasses
1 cup fat-free evaporate milk
1 9 inch frozen deep-dish pie crust thawed

Whisk together the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, giner, allspice & salt in a large bowl. Add the pumpkin, egg whites & molasses-whisk until well blended. Gradually add the evaporated milk, whisking until smooth.
Preheat the oven to 425. Pour the filling into the pie shell & bake 15 min. Reduce the heat to 350. Bake until a knife in center comes out clean-35 to 40 min. Cool on a rack 2 hrs. Serve at once or cover & put in fridge up to 1 day.

Hi all! Just wanted to check in. My eating and weight are embarrassingly bad, so we won't discuss that :rolleyes1

Actually, my training isn't much better, so I need some help! Today was the first time I really ran in 2 weeks  The closer the race gets (7 weeks from tomorrow, if anyone's counting!) the worse I get about running :confused3

So today I set out for 8 miles. It was a bit less than on my schedule, but I'm way off track so I thought it was a good goal. I decided to do it on the road instead of in the gym, mostly because I didn't feel like driving that far! I'm happy to report that I finished it, and ended up with an average pace of 13:25/mile! It turns out I'm HORRIBLE at keeping pace without a watch or a treadmill! The whole time I thought I was stinking, and here I was ahead of pace :rotfl:

Better than that, though, emotionally, is the hurdle of running outside again. After changing my asthma regimen, I was still a little leary of doing it so I've just been sticking indoors. Well, I really didn't have too much trouble until probably mile 7 today, and that was with the last 4 miles running straight into the wind! :Pinkbounc

Unfortunately, the second I hit the warm air of my house I had a full-blown asthma attack :confused3 I was wheezing, retracting, and it wasn't responding to my rescue inhaler for the first several puffs. It was a bit scary, but more frustrating than anything! Overall it's fine, because I know now that I have to watch those temperature changes... but MAN, was I feeling bad for a bit  I'm still feeling a bit wonky, but I'm doing much better.

SO...... who wants to call me or PM me every night and make sure I've got my stupid act together!? I'm getting a bit nervous about this whole ordeal.... but awfully excited for the trip as a whole!

I hope you all are doing well! :goodvibes

ETA: At least make sure I check in here, please! Oh, except for tomorrow -- I'll be gone all day biting all my nails off watching the OSU v. Michigan game!

Hey where is everybody???????????

Jennifer, I hope you are doing ok with your training schedule. I know how badly you want to finish your 1/2 marathon. Keep on plugging.

I lost 3 lbs this week.   Wooooooo hooooooooo!!! That puts me at 45lbs gone. I have another 11 days until I leave for my trip & one more weigh in. I am not going to count points on vacation & will be ok if I come home having gained a few pounds, but I plan to still try to not indulge too much & I will be walking, dancing & bouncing around from sheer excitement :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: alot so hopefully that will offset the extra eating.

Everyone just keep swimming :fish:
Remember Thanksgiving is only one day & you can eat a bit extra & then get right back on program the next day.

Great job Melanie. Be strong through the Holidays and your trip. You can do it!!

I'm so excited!!!!

I just can't hide it!!!

I made my 10% goal at weight watchers and received my 10% keychain. I have now lost over 15 lbs on weight watchers in just 12 weeks!!!! I set my final goal weight at 130 lbs which means I have 13.4 lbs left to lose. Technically I am within my weight range now and could decide to maintain at this weight and become a lifetime member. I still want to lose more so I'm setting the goal. I can do it in great part because of you all.

Thanks

Way to go Deb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are doing so awesome.
I love how we can go to meetings & get support at WW but somehow this group is extra special to me. :goodvibes
Happy Thanksgiving everybody. I know one thing I am thankful for is this great group!!!!!!!!!

Way to go Deb - that's fantastic  :yay: :woohoo:

Hi everyone... it's me... and my new alter ego :teeth: I got bored of the whole rosiejo thing - such a silly thing to do taking your cat's name as your screen name - especially as she's Rosie - Rosie Moo - Little Moo - or Rabbit... and we don't actually call her Rosie Jo! :rolleyes1

So I picked a new screen name that can't be mistaken as my name - so people won't call me Rosie anymore :)

I just wanted to check in and say that I started my morning excercise the day I went back to work so I'm proud of myself for that - starting out taking it easy as I'm still v tired and have a cold - although yesterday I thought I'd do low impact and take it real easy - but ended up trying to be as energetic as usual... let's say I did this one before my trip and hardly broke a sweat... did it again and I was panting and my arms were aching later on!

Funny how you switch from aerobics to walking for two weeks and you seem to get less fit! We must have walked 10 miles a day too.

I managed not to gain any weight on the trip - but all those french fries and grilled cheeses and pancakes took a toll on my digestive system - my IBS has been the worst it's been for months for about a week now - I'm just starting to feel better having been eating "proper" food for the last 5 days.

You're all doing so well - I'm proud of you all - and HAPPY THANKSGIVING :)

Well, my friends, I'm home from mom's house. I haven't been on the scales yet, so I don't know what the damage is. I'll find out tomorrow. Yikes!!! I feel like I was good. My clothes don't feel tight or anything, so I'm hoping for good news.

Clare - It's nice to see you back! I'm so sorry that the IBS is acting up! I hope it's doing better now! I like your new identity. I did have to look twice at the photo though, to see who you were. It will take me time! I'm glad you had a great time, and I can't wait to hear all about it.

Jennifer - I know how you feel! I'm so scared about the half, I can hardly breathe! I haven't been able to do much "real" training, so I don't know what's going to happen. I'll try to remember to PM you each night. You motivate me, and I'll try to motivate you. I'm not so good at the motivation, but at least we'll be able to console each other.

Deb - I'm so proud of you!!! You've done so well! You must feel so proud of yourself!!!

Everyone is doing great!!

I gained on vacation,,but only 1 pound!! i was really happy about that since there is food and junk EVERYWHERE on the cruise!
So right now , i am at 150,,almost in the 140s!!!!

Good to see everyone reporting in after Thanksgiving. It seems that we all did well, but I'll let weigh in tomorrow tell the truth :smooth: I have to admit that I have been getting lots of comments at work. Mind you that I work in a bar...a nice bar, but none the less. A guy was in the other night that I went through school with. He comes in quite often, but Saturday night he made a bunch of comments about my butt looking great in my jeans  He can be quite obnoxious, but it was a nice compliment anyway. I have also been hit on a couple of times lately. My dh thinks it is pretty funny too. I always come home and tell him all my stories. Apparently some of the guys at his work have made comments to him too.

Deb

I'm happy to report that I maintained my weight during Thanksgiving. I'm so relieved about that!!!! I really tried hard to watch portions, and eat the good choices. It's nice to see that I can do it, and not feel deprived!
