DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Hello all! :wave2: We're doing all right here! This week I have made a menu for Kyle and myself and we've stuck to it almost entirely! :teeth: I cheated and had a spoonful of chocolate frosting yesterday, but otherwise have been right in the range I wanted for calories, fat, carbs, protein, and various nutrients! Let me tell you though, I HATEeating this way! I feel like it's a ton of food, and not at ALL the foods I want! :sad2:

We did get a scale though! Interesting thing to be excited about, huh? :) I weighed in on Sunday, and again at the doctor yesterday (unofficial as it was mid-day) .... hopefully this Sunday it will have paid off eating all this (non)junk!

As for exercise, I've been doing really well! I had to backtrack on the training plan again, because I keep getting off track! That's frustrating, but this week I am up to par! I just got back from a 35-minute walk/run, in which I ran 70% of the time. I'm not sure how far it was, because I only measure mileage on certain days. I could breathe though! :Pinkbounc Thank goodness for less humid days and new meds. :goodvibes I also did six strength training exercises from yesterday.

Glad to hear so many of you are doing so well! Take care!

I have to tell you that I am very excited. I see a renewed committment from so many and that is exactly what I need to stay on track. Keep up the good work.

Deb

I'm going to just jump right in and say howdy!! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

I started Weight Watchers today and I am determined to lose some weight before I go to Disney in 83 days.

I did Atkins a couple of years ago before my nephew's wedding. I lost 25 pounds and was feeling great. Got to Chicago, ate a pizza, decided life just wasn't worth living without bread and ended up gaining it all back... :guilty: :guilty:

I hope with the more balanced approach of WW, I can lose the weight this time and keep it off. :thumbsup2

You all are doing amazing work. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Ok, I'm only laughing at the bolded part. And only because I COMPLETELY feel the same way!!

Welcome to our thread Steffy! You'll do great! :cheer2:

Thought I'd check in and say hi

Sounds like you're all doing great!

Good to see you Jen - hope you're feeling better - sounds like your plan is on track :)

I'm still doing well with my daily excercise. I took 5 days off when we were at home decorating the other week (I just couldn't excercise and then spend the day painting it was exhausting!) After a few days though I noticed I was having trouble sleeping, so I started up again and felt much better on the very first day!

My weight is static but I'm feeling much healthier and a bit stronger too, and able to do things without getting breathless - so it's all good :)

Im still doing exercises, but stoppped the treadmill for a few days-my brother (EMT trainee) thinks i have a thigh sprain..Ive been icing/heating it and it is killing me..but im not using this as an excuse to stop! as soon as he says i can start on the treadmill again (he thinks wed or thur) then ill get right back into it!

Hi Jen! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Thanks for the welcome... :goodvibes

I had french toast for brunch. I love having my bread. Plus I made a really nice 12 point meal that will keep me satisified until my 8 point dinner and allow me lots of fruit to munch on when I need a snack. I am not hungry at all! I'm ready. :dance3: :dance3:

:wave2: :wave2: Jen,

DO NOT hurt yourself! Allow yourself to heal and then back to the treadmill. :cheer2: :cheer2: I'm going to start with some arm exercises and give my ankle some more healing time.... :dance3:

I must tell you all that switching to WW is pretty hard for a low carb girl. I am so used to looking at the carb count on everything, but now I need a calculator and the fat, calorie and fiber content. I couldn't believe that a 4 oz porterhouse steak is 7 points!! I think I'll be fine I just need to reprogram myself. Day 3 today and I'm on track.

Melanie, congrats on the excercise. That is my big downfall.

Deb

Wow! I had forgotten that low carb is different from everything else! You can do it, though! I'm sure that you can! I'll be behind you every step of the way!

I'm so glad to hear that the new meds are working for you! That's got to help!!!! Congrats on the training. I'm doing another long distance "wog" today. I'm trying a new route with a lot more hills than I've done before. Wish me luck!

I'm so proud of you, Jennifer, for all your hard work. I know that the eating part has got to be hard, but you can do it! You've got a good husband helping you out, and if you need us, we are here for you! Way to Go!!!!!

Nice to see you, here, Clare! Isn't it amazing what a little bit of exercise does for us! We always think it's a total pain, but when we go without it for a while, we really notice how much our bodies crave it!

Don't worry too much about your weight! I've seen your pictures and you are adorable as you are! Just keep drinking your water, and exercising, and slowly that weight will slip off!

Take care of that leg! You don't need a leg injury on top of school, etc.

You Go, Girl!!!!! What a great attitude!

I went to Lake George yesterday and managed to only blow my diet by 1 point (of course I used all of my bonus points, but it was still much better than it could have been). I am certainly not hungry on the diet and still have 7 unused points today and I don't plan on eating anything else :confused3

My SIL has sent me a daily dieting newsletter that she says give daily insight and many diet friendly recipes. The website is www.hungry-girl.com I thought some of you might enjoy this.

Hooray for all the new people who have joined this thread. You can do it. :cool1: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cool1: :cheer2: I know you can, just take it one meal at a time. Any positive change is for the good. If you mess up just jump right on track with healthier choices and don't beat yourself over it. :thumbsup2

You can do this, I know you can. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for the link! I've bookmarked it so I can look through the whole site at my leisure! Congrats on sticking to the plan while at the Lake. I know how tough that can be!
