DDA Chapter 9

I was hoping to find an update on Lucy as to how she did the rest of the night.

Robyn - your experience sounds like mine when Nicholas was Lucy's age. His fever was 105, I called the ped. and he said take him to the ER. After blood/urine work the only thing they could tell me was that his white cell count was high but didn't know why. No other symptoms, just a high fever. They ended up doing a chest xray and found the pneumonia.

I hope poor Lucy is feeling better. :wizard:

Good morning. :)

I can't seem to find Glynis' pot roast recipe in my files.....I know it calls for gravy and salad dressing mixes, but how much water and how long in the crock pot?

    Get better Lucy!!!!

Kristin used to spike 103-104 fevers with no apparent reason. It took us a while to "get used to it" too. I hope you all sleep well. G'night.

:wizard: :wizard:  By now I hope that Eric and everyone is in bed and asleep. I hope that Lucy feels much better in the morning and everyone else is spared the sickness.

Tammi- I hope that Nicholas feels better. I also suffer from asthma. Hope you can figure out the best way to minimize its impact on him.

Night everyone.

I went to Logan's on a business trip once, it was good! We were supposed to get one around here, but I don't know what happened! Enjoy your day today!

I hope everything is well today! You can always alternate the Tylenol and the Motrin, to keep the fever in check. Give Lucy a big hug from us (and tell Emma and Molly hi!) :)

I will tell you, in 15 years of nannying I have NEVER heard of a fever that high from teeth. Teething fevers tend to be low grade, and some doctors don't believe that even low grade fevers are caused by teething.
The only time DS had a fever that high it was his ears. Since Lucy's ears are clear I am not sure what to think. :confused3 DS was also older than 12-13 mos. when that happened - he was preschool age. I hope she feels better today!! :wizard:  I would definitely be calling the pediatrician tomorrow, just to get their input. I have never seen Tylenol work for anything. Ibuprofen is much more effective, and like Jennifer mentioned, for high fever I like to alternate Tylenol and Motrin every 3 hours.

Thanks guys!! She woke up this morning with no fever. And you know what I realized at about 3 in the morning- she had her MMR vaccine on Monday and her pediatrician mentioned a side effect could be a high fever a week later. I wonder if that is what caused it. We'll just have to keep a close eye on her today.

Here you go...

2 boneless chuck roasts (2.5 pounds each)
1 envelope Ranch dressing mix
1 envelope Italian dressing mix
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1/2 cup water

Place roasts in a slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine mixes and water. Whisk together. Pour over roasts. Cover and cook on low 7-8 hours until tender.

Good morning. :)

Thanks Robyn! Hope Lucy's fever is staying down.

Robyn - I am glad Lucy is feeling better this morning! A reaction to the MMR sounds like a likely explanation! Still call her Dr. tomorrow so they can make a note in her chart. :)

I just got back from Circuit City. They had Wii Fit in their weekly add so I got there at 9:15 for their 10:00 opening. I was #9 in line. They had 8 to sell. :rotfl2:

Mix together 1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix, 1 envelope italian salad dressing mix, and 1 envelope brown gravy mix. Add 1/2 cup water and pour over the roast.

Cook on low 6-8 hours or until meat is falling apart tender!

Aargh! :headache: How frustrating! Maybe next time! :wizard:

I am getting ready to go to Target for weekly groceries. I also did a quick review of our WDW budget. It's coming along.
Not sure if I mentioned that our DVC guide said we should qualify for the $500 dream reward dollars for purchasing with our Disney Visa. The problem is it will be 2-3 billing cycles before we get the dollars, so we will likely not have the dollars until we get back. We can use them for next year, but it would have ben nice to have them for this year! All those trips back and forth to KC have put quite a dent in our WDW funds!

The clinic will send over a copy but I'll call too just to talk to the Dr.

The teething explanation cracked me up, I knew it was not her teeth. But the Dr. kept saying her gums were really swollen, well she had 4 teeth break through in 4 days, they should be!

I am so sorry. Hopefully you'll find one soon. We are having a great time with it. But oh my, yoga is not my friend!

I bet that is what it was!

I bolted upright and woke Eric up with my AHA moment. He was not too pleased!

Glad to hear Lucy is better this morning!

Thanks!!

:wizard: that it comes in sooner.

Kristin just left for a week at the Outer Banks.
I am not jealous... I am not jealous... I am not jealous.

I tried yoga with Kristin last summer.. AAAAAAAAAAAAACK

But, after seeing how it toned her body I am determined that when I get the Wii Fit I will shake hands firmly and embrace it wildly! :rotfl2:

Awww Elin.:sad2:

I saw a woman in the parking lot at Costco, loading her trunk with 10 of them. She said her "friend" was going to sell them on Ebay.  Needless to say, when we walked in to snag one for you, the shelf was bare!!!
