DDA Chapter 4

The weather forecast has changed again for this weekend. Instead of cold and partly to mostly cloudy for our trek to BeanTown we are now looking at snow/rain showers.

Bernadette... is that a "little" snow or a lot?!?!?

I grew up in the mountains of western Pennsylvania but have lived (and driven) in Virginia and Georgia most of my adult life. I don't like snow any more and I am certainly not prepared to drive a 14-foot U-Haul in it!
Is it to late to hire a moving company??? ;)

Ok this is wierd. I have off today & have nothing to do (except dishes! ). I ran all my errands yesterday. My house is spotless, ADR's made for August, clothes cleaned, hmmmm maybe I could make a few dinners to freeze................nah!!!!!!!!!
If you don't have anything to do, why aren't you DISing???!!! :rotfl:

:wizard:  for Becky hope the treatment is simple

 :wizard: for Carter. I hope he finds some cool frames that he loves and wears. I am sure that seeing will help improve his assignments.

Tammi- Sorry about the crayon in the wash. Perhaps you could dye the whitish part of the dress another color. Hope the crown stays the first time.

Anne Marie- Glad to hear the smash and bash went well. If you are not getting digital mammograms, if your insurance covers them, do that type. My Mom was in and out in 15 minutes on Monday with the digital type. Hope the dishwasher starts working again.

Theresa-:grouphug: :wizard:  hope things improve soon

Karen- :wizard:  to you and your family

grouphug: :wizard:  to Julie and her family

Jen- Hope your evening was better then your day.

Beth- :grouphug: :wizard: Hope your leg is good as new really quick

Jennifer- Hope you can find a way to keep you and your babies comfortable.

Deb- I hope Colby can get the speech evaluation and start therapy ASAP. I hope that a bit of therapy helps him immensely

Has anyone heard from Jennifer from Texas recently?? I am sure she has been spending time with her girls, but I hope they are doing alright.

:wizard: :wizard: to the sickies

I think Jennifer (Bear) is with family as I emailed her over the weekend and she was at FIL's house :confused3 All seemed ok though.

I hadn't posted Vicki's design, just the 4th Designs that I was working on.

These are the 2 I did for Vicki
This was the first one, but I wasn't thrilled with the background and couldn't find one that I did like
MeyersSegway.jpg

So I popped the Characters in front of a Mickey Swirl. This is the one that Vicki chose
Meyers2.jpg

I went with Tigger and Pooh as I couldn't find many characters that had hands in the right places for the Segway. I'd love to see Beth's design too.

Elizabeth - No, no box yet. I meant to post that yesterday but I forgot.

Vicki - I'm glad they have found out what is causing Becky's problems. It sounds simple enough to control. At least I hope it is. I hope you feel better and have a wonderful trip!!!

I was reading on another forum (budget maybe) about the Boost Mobile phones. Hunter is Dying for a cell phone. Apparently they are $20 at Walmart and come with a $10 prepaid card. They are Nextel phones which work with my phone. For $1 per day you can add unlimited Nextel ot Nextel chat or for $1 unlimited Walkie Talkie (which I have never used). I'm thinking these may be great for our Disney trip. Nextel has towers on Disney property so great signals and the boys may spend time with other family members so we'd be able to contact them. It would stop Hunter's cell phone craze as I know he wouldn't use it in real life. It would cost us about $40 to have those 2 phones to use for our entire vacation unlimited between us. I think I would put them in their Easter Treasure chests and won't activate until our trip. Good or bad idea? :confused3

I need to do a bunch of cleaning today. I'll bring Colby to school then I can come home and get to it. Chris is going in for part of Colby's class to talk about being a mechanic and sharing some tools. Then he will drop him off at my parent's house and he can have some one on one time with Papa before I drop off the other kids at 3:15.

Hmm. Well, I think parcel post can take up to 10 business days or some ridiculous amount of time like that. This is day 7, so we'll see if it shows up in the next few days.

The dental appt. went well. The crown feels 'normal', at least as far as I can tell with my mouth numb. Everytime I try to drink it runs out the side of my mouth.

Tonight is the George Strait concert. I'm leaving work early so I can get home and change, then we will head to Richmond. We have 5:30 dinner reservations at a place just a few blocks from where the concert is. Thanks for the recommendation Elin.

That's the tricky thing about whether a new crown fits the way you want it to. Until the numbness wears off you can't tell if your bite is off!:headache: Did you tuck a napkin in your collar to catch the dribbles? ;) :rotfl2:

Have fun tonight!

Our only plans tonight involve getting DS caught up on homework. He had math and social studies last night, but he couldn't see. I know he couldn't, because I couldn't, either! He did some of the math. But of course by the time he started the math he had NO meds in his system and it was too late for a booster pill. He basically just stared at the page. :headache: He was supposed to get up and finish the math this morning but I don't know if he really did finish. He never even touched the social studies, and he didn't read and do his summary. So tonight he has band until 5 PM and a TON of work to catch up on. Tomorrow he will be on a field trip all day so I told him he needs to go to the social studies teacher before school and turn in his work. He will absolutely have a booster pill today, even though he won't be able to take it until 5 PM. :sad2:

Janet, I don't have a dishwasher. It just the two of us, and once in a while the four of us, so never a lot of dishes. The only time there is a lot is at Thanksgiving and there are plenty of people to help.

Vicki, glad to hear that Becky's problem is an easy fix.

:wizard: that the antibiotics kick in quick and the UTI is short lived. Have a fun a safe trip.

Disney on the travel channel March 1st, starting at 2:00 pm EST.

My mom called yesterday to thank us for the gift card we sent for her birthday. I never did manage to work out what restaurants are close to her so I just sent her a Macy's card.
She sounds HORRIBLE! She has bronchitis or something. She said she went to the Dr. and got some antibiotics, so hopefully that will help! She also scheduled a bunch of tests, which for other people would be routine but for her I have to question her motives. She NEVER goes to the Dr. - she would rather die of something than have it diagnosed and treated.
She is 60. She has never had a mammogram, but she scheduled one. She has never had a colonoscopy although her father and her sister both died from colon cancer. She has one scheduled. She also has a bone density screening scheduled. I am just sort of flabbergasted. They are all on different days, though, so the chances of her keeping all 3 appointments are very, very slim.
DH has to have regular colonoscopies so I am familiar with the procedure. I told her she can NOT drive herself home and she MUST bring someone who can listen to what the Dr. says after the procedure. DH always seems perfectly coherent but when we get home he can't recall anything the Dr. said!:scared1: She was planning to have my 16 year old sister drive her home. I am willing to bet she won't go to that appt.

Sounds like the perfect day for you to enjoy some "Me" time for yourself ::yes::

Am I the only one that does not have a dishwasher? I keep saying I want one, but so far it hasn't happened. By the time I do get one, the boys will have moved out & I won't need it then lol
We didn't have a dishwasher until we moved into our house 10 years ago. What a luxury for us since we always washed dishes since we were kids. Now that I have had one I would like to keep having one! However if you asked me which I need more, a washing machine or a dish washer I'd say washing machine, so I am glad it was not that broke. Dana is going to look at it & see if he can do something before we call a repairman.

Vicki - I hope you get to feeling better VERY soon and work miraculously gets itself done so you can relax and have a wonderful trip!

How in the heck are you going to get T-shirts made?!?!?!?!?
Ditto Vicki!!!!

Well, my house is a wreck, there are piles of laundry, and I couldn't cook if my life depended on it. You are MORE than welcome to put your talents to good use at my house today!! :rotfl2:
:rotfl:

If you don't have anything to do, why aren't you DISing???!!! :rotfl:
 I ran to Ikea to get some frames for some Disney pictures I had that never got hung up. Also I got a huge frame to put my pins in...I hate that they are "away" & you can't see them.

Glad the dentist went well & have a great time tonight!

Marci,
Good luck to Andrew!

I'm working at cleaning, well actually it is more organizing at this point. I really can't see much progress yet, but I know that I have made a lot of progress. Hopefully it will start coming together soon or um tomorrow since I need to leave for work in an hour.
