DDA Chapter 4

I forgot to ask you all to please one of Cassidy's oldest and dearest friends in your thoughts and prayers. There has been a LOT of stuff going on in this family for the 6 years we've known them and Carla knows that we are her safe house. She was hospitalized last week for cutting herself. There is now a social worker/dept. of social services (who came to school) involved and I hope and pray if nothing else that Carla gets the help she so desperately is calling out for.

Tomorrow morning I have the permanent crown put on my tooth. I hope once it gets put on it stays on. That is the most common issue that I hear, that they fall off.

I am probably going to jinx myself here... but I have had crowns on my teeth for over 30 years and only one has ever fallen off!

GOOD LUCK TODAY!! :)

Becky and Theresa - you two and your friends and family need a lot of PD right now. You've got it! :grouphug:

The weather forecast has changed again for this weekend. Instead of cold and partly to mostly cloudy for our trek to BeanTown we are now looking at snow/rain showers.

Bernadette... is that a "little" snow or a lot?!?!?

I grew up in the mountains of western Pennsylvania but have lived (and driven) in Virginia and Georgia most of my adult life. I don't like snow any more and I am certainly not prepared to drive a 14-foot U-Haul in it!

There have been robins in our yard all winter, so I don't rely on them as harbingers of spring any more. But... as I sit here reading and posting this morning a baby ladybug is walking across my laptop. Surely that is a good sign!

Good morning :)

A blanket of :wizard: & for everyone!

Vicki have a wonderful time!

Elin I hope the weather is not bad for you this weekend & yes I think the ladybug is a good sign(it's a nice thought anyway lol).

Tammi good luck at the Dentist today!

I was in 9th grade when I first got glasses. My eyes weren't that bad, just bad enough. Well, they have progressively gotten worse over the years until by the time I was in my late 20s they were 20/200!
That's what Katie's eyes are now! Dana has very bad eyes. He used to have "coke bottle" glasses in school but now he gets the lenses thinned out (which of course is more $) Katie has the thinner lenses too.

Tomorrow morning I have the permanent crown put on my tooth. I hope once it gets put on it stays on. That is the most common issue that I hear, that they fall off.
Good luck!

Vicki just called me back. She is exhausted and heading to bed, but will post tomorrow. It turns out that she wound up with a UTI and went to the doctor's herself after Becky's procedure. Hopefully they are all set for their trip now, at least medically speaking. She give more info tomorrow.

I'm off to bed.

Deb
Thanks for letting us know.

Anne Marie- Glad to hear the smash and bash went well. If you are not getting digital mammograms, if your insurance covers them, do that type. My Mom was in and out in 15 minutes on Monday with the digital type. Hope the dishwasher starts working again.
Thanks & lots of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'll take that as a very good sign. Good luck this weekend.

Ok this is wierd. I have off today & have nothing to do (except dishes! ). I ran all my errands yesterday. My house is spotless, ADR's made for August, clothes cleaned, hmmmm maybe I could make a few dinners to freeze................nah!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like the perfect day for you to enjoy some "Me" time for yourself ::yes::

Am I the only one that does not have a dishwasher? I keep saying I want one, but so far it hasn't happened. By the time I do get one, the boys will have moved out & I won't need it then lol

Well, just a quick post before I get back to work this morning. I'm so far behind at work and don't know how I'll get the things done that have to be done! I wanted to stop in here and fill you in on Becky.

Becky had her table test yesteday. We had to leave here at 5:30 am to drive to Green Bay so we could be there by 8am. It's a 2 hour drive but you never know about the weather. Weather was great so we arrived a little early. I had taken some work to fill my time while she was getting the procedure and resting for the 4 hours after. She left the room at 10:45 and didn't return until 12:45. I was concerned because the procedure was only supposed to take about 1/2 - 3/4 hour. So needless to say, it was a wasted day of trying to get any work done for me. It turns out the doctor had issues with the procedure before hers so they didn't start until noon. She passed out on the first phase of the test. This is what we wanted. It means that they have found the problem and as far as problems go this is the best one for her blackouts. She has neuro cardiogenic syncope. This means that her neuro and cardio systems aren't in sync so her blood pressure drops when she stands. She was put on sudafed twice a day. They will try different meds to find what works to get them in sync. She had to rest for 4 hours afterwards so we left at 5pm.

About 3:30, I started to get serious symptoms of a UTI. I called my doctor and made plans to be tested first thing this morning. Well, on the way back, the symptoms got much worse so I ended up calling Chuck to ask him to meet me at the hospital's after hours clinic so he could take Becky home. I stopped 3 times to use restrooms along the way. My UTI had some very bad numbers! I got some primarine for the symptoms which gave me relief in about 1/2 hour and some antibiotics to take care of the bacteria.

Did I say I'm also very behind at work! I worked until 1am Tuesday night and was up by 5am yesterday morning. I don't know that I'll be back before we leave. We'll have Chuck's laptop and will spring for internet at least a couple of days while we are down there so I'll stop in next week.

Thanks for all your concern. Deb called and talked to Chuck & Becky. It is wonderful knowing that I have such a great bunch of caring friends out there.

I also wanted to let you know that Deb and Beth are awesome!

I love Deb's Segway design that she says she posted on the thread for comments. She went out of her way when I know how busy she is.

I had posted a thread a week or so ago asking for one and Beth had contacted me as well. I told her that I had asked Deb in a PM. Since I haven't been on this week and she couldn't verify whether Deb had made me one, she modified one of her Epcot designs and added Minnie & Daisy on segways. It is also cute.

I'll be making both shirts. I don't know which we'll wear for the actual tour but we'll wear the other one sometime too. I just happen to have two sets of blank tees at home. Blue & yellow. I think the two designs will look awesome on those.

Thanks to both Deb & Beth.

Vicki - I hope you get to feeling better VERY soon and work miraculously gets itself done so you can relax and have a wonderful trip!

How in the heck are you going to get T-shirts made?!?!?!?!?

Ditto, have a wonderful time!

Crud, I think my dishwasher is broken.:sad2:

We just had to replace our dryer -- I had those unexpected expenses. I hope yours is easily fixable!

I just called Vicki. She isn't home, but Chuck was :thumbsup2 Becky is ok. They did find the problem and it is treatable. I told Chuck to have Vicki fill us in once she gets home so I'm sure we'll hear from her sometime tonight.

Thanks Deb!

Vicki -- I'm glad they were able to figure out what it was and that it should be easily treatable. I hope the sudafed works without other side effects. PD that you feel better ASAP and that everything works out with your work.

So this week I have no night events, well at least that I know of.   It is a good thing though because I have basically spent every night trying to prep for my online test from noon to 3pm on Saturday. I feel like I still know nothing.

It is just three essay questions, but I have a weird feeling something wacky is going to happen like losing electricity or my internet will be out or some other thing that will make it difficult to complete. I am not going to at least two things because I would need to leave during that time or be there during that time. Why we could not have 3 hours within a 24 hour time period to complete the test I know not.:confused3 :confused3

I can only try my best.:teacher:

If you could keep my Grandma in your prayers that would be greatly appreciated. For several years her heart has only functioned at 10%, she has a pacemaker. She has a limited amount of liquid she can consume each day, if she gains a certain amount of weight she must call the Dr immediately, because she has a high risk of fluid collecting around her heart and water retention, which is highly dangerous to her. Well something is wacky, she had to do a phone test and things seem off. She cannot go into the Dr. till the end of next week. She knows if certain things happen she or DH needs to call the ambulance and get her to the emergency room. So I am hoping she will be fine until the Dr. appointment as I know she is stubborn and may not do as she is directed if need be.

Also my brother broke a tooth, he is in New Jersey all week for training for his job. He can not get a dental appointment at his dentist until April. Good thing it isn't bothering him.

Sorry for all the babbling.

Night all

Good luck on your test -- I know you'll do great!

Prayers for Grandma!

I hope your brother's tooth continues to not bother him. I think if I was him I'd get another dentist.

Prayers said. I've also been keeping you in my prayers as well. I hope you are feeling better about everything.

I am probably going to jinx myself here... but I have had crowns on my teeth for over 30 years and only one has ever fallen off!

GOOD LUCK TODAY!! :)

Good luck Tammi. I've had crowns for years and never had one fall off. Stay away from Laffy Taffy! ;)

I hope the weather changes again for the better!

Debbie -- I hope Brandon is better!

Our weather looks iffy for this weekend as well -- possible rain. Part of this week it was forecasted for both days, now just Sunday, but then I checked another site and it has both days. I'm sure it will change a few more times before the weekend gets here.

It's the first baseball tournament for Andrew's select team, and I'm terribly nervous. I know I've told you guys before that Andrew excells at soccer and just about everything else but baseball. He's good at baseball -- it's amazing he made the team, but he's one of the utility players so he only gets to play part of each game. He so wants to do well, and we do year-round lessons to help. He has really great base skills -- if he would have a good tournament it sure would set the stage for this summer and give him more confidence. I think the confidence thing is always going to be an issue as he struggles so with school and his expressive speech. Of course, the sensory issues don't help with this either. I keep hoping he'll decide he doesn't want to play, but I also know this is an important life lesson for him.

I'm off to work on all the preliminary research for our audit. Have a great day everyone! :)

Vicki, I am glad that Becky's problem is easy to fix. I am sorry about your UTI. I have had some come on suddenly like that, and it pretty much feels like a train hit. I hope the antibiotics work quickly.

You are welcome for the design. I must have missed Deb's. I have been trying to read along, but I can't sit in my computer chair for long periods of time. I will have to search for it later.

Good morning to everyone. I am running extremely late, so I have to go!

Beth

Becky - Lots of  and :wizard: for you, your Grandma, and your brother!

Marci - I hope Andrew's game goes well!! :wizard:

I was in 9th grade when I first got glasses. My eyes weren't that bad, just bad enough. Well, they have progressively gotten worse over the years until by the time I was in my late 20s they were 20/200!

Do you think he would be able to wear contacts?

He is able to wear contacts from the standpoint of them being appropriate for his vision problem. BUT we have decided not to do contacts just yet. He is very susceptible to eye infections, pinkeye, etc. so for now we are doing glasses. When he gains some maturity we will move to contacts. The insurance will cover one or the other each year, but not both.

Thanks for the update Deb.

Thanks, Deb! :)

Tomorrow morning I have the permanent crown put on my tooth. I hope once it gets put on it stays on. That is the most common issue that I hear, that they fall off.

The only permanent crown I have had fall off is that recent one. I have 2 others that are fine. Well, I do think the one in front of the new one is going to fall off eventually because the one behind it messed it up.
I hope it goes well! Usually having the permanent one seated isn't bad.

Well, I was able to salvage everything from my laundry except for Alyssa's dress. It was a navy dress with a white color and white cuffs. Yep, the orange ended up on the white and it just isn't coming out. Oh well, hopefully we will be wearing spring-y dresses soon anyway.

Bummer. :guilty: Come on, SPRING!!
Did that box arrive yet? Just curious.

Vicki - Speedy recovery! :wizard: I hope Becky's meds fix her dizziness! Good luck getting the last few details in place. Have a FABULOUS trip!! :goodvibes
