DDA Chapter 26

Tammi and her kids are in PA this morning. Her dad was medivac-ed to the hospital with what they thought was a stroke. Initial tests indicate it wasn't a stroke but may have been an aneurysm. He seemed to be doing fairly well last night, I think.

Some of you already know this because she posted very quickly on facebook, but I thought the others would like to know.

If she posts anything else I will let you all know.
Thanks for posting this Elin. I am getting ready to head out. I need to swing by and get an oil change and tires checked before the drive (overdue) and then I will get the kids, who are at their dad's. Thankfully he is giving up his days so I can take them. I spent most of yesterday evening on the phone, talking with my mom, arranging today and tomorrow off of work, checking in with friends, etc, so I didn't make it on here. It was easy to FB as I was sitting in Friday rush hour traffic.

I haven't talked to my mom yet this morning but yesterday I spoke with Dad and he seemed to be doing okay. No slurred speech, CT scan didn't show stroke, and they were to do an MRI last night. They are also going to consult with his cardio drs as he has major heart/blocked artery issues. He was in the hosp a few months ago for stents, or something, and the drs said that if the arteries continue to block that the next thing would be heart surgery.

My mom said she truly thought he was dying right there in front of her. He was sweating, clammy, incoherent. Thank goodness she was home and immediately called 911 and told them she thought he was having a heart attack.

Other than that, that's all I know. I decided to go home, even though things seem to be stable at this point. Who knows what the future holds. I would rather be able to say "I did...." rather than "I wish I would have...."

Have a good weekend and thanks for being there for me. :grouphug:

Wow, how scary. We'll pray for him.

Anyone heard frm Kristine?

We drove by fredericksburg about 3:30 this morning. Good weather since that. Nasty storm in SC. Hit heavy traffic from the NY border to where we picked up 91 in CT. We should be home in 45 minutes

Vicki - You probably already ordered the purse but I am going to go against everyone else and say red! I have a red leather bag that I swear goes with everything!

I may end up with a red one because I went to two Targets today and they only had red & black. I am not planning on ordering it unless I have to.

I really like the blue one but the red one is more colorful.;) I do like the red one too and I really like the style of the bag.

Elin-miss your post about your Boston plans. Sorry I'll miss you.

We got home at 2:15. It was a very loooong drive. I'm also having some circulatory issues which resulted in alot of discomfort in my legs as well as swelling in my legs, feet and hands. I really need to keep an eye on this and maybe see a doctor as this is not the first time this has happened.

We got home and unloaded the car then I spent a good deal of time reorganizing my cupboard. I bought some Mickey bowls, small dishes, silverware, a casserole dish, some utensils, towels, silicone cutting boards and pot holders. They are things that match what I've bought on previous trips. I really do have a Disney kitchen now :goodvibes

So that's what woke me up this morning! ;)

How do you go once you leave I-95? Do you drive on I-95 the whole way through NJ and NY and get I-91 outside of New Haven?

I've been considering getting two so that I can switch between them but I'm trying to save some money for a Disney trip. You guys aren't helping. :lmao:

I know that Peter Pan was in the EP last time we saw it in California Adventure. I haven't seen Dumbo in years, though.

Okay, I had it backward then! I can never keep straight which is what I saw and which is what I've watched a bazillion times on the MSEP movie from the "final season" years ago.

I plan to start hunting for a full time job/career once we get home. This has been the plan for quite a while, but I still don't know what I want to do. Any suggestions? I still have my job at the restaurant and can sub at school so I don't want to just take any job. I want something that I'll enjoy, pays well and that I can stick with for years to come.

Good luck! I'm sure the right thing will become known when it's there.

I hope you had a safe trip up. Lots of prayers and :wizard: that everything is okay and he's back to normal in no time.

Welcome home!

Kristine is home from the hospital, but she had to go in yesterday for an hour on the fetal monitor. The contractions she is currently having are Braxton-Hicks. She said this morning she feels like the baby has moved down and she feels a lot of pressure. She is not scheduled to go back to the Dr. until Thursday unless something drastic happens before then. She really appreciates all of the thoughts and prayers, so please keep them coming! :)

Thanks for the update, Elizabeth. Our prayers and good thoughts continue!!!!

Tammi I hope you had a safe trip and that your dad recovers quick and they figure out what happened.

Terra and I spent the afternoon in Cahokia Mounds in Illinois (http://cahokiamounds.org/). Apparently this Native American community grew to 10-20,000 people in 1000AD. They had an archeology day today so we went to check it out. We got to help wash artifacts found on actual dig sites around the area. Terra also learned a Native American game, threw a spear with a spear thrower, knapped some flint (and it's almost actually arrowhead shaped ;) ), and talked to a lot of other artisans who do work similar to things that the native people would have done. It was pretty cool. Sometime after Deva comes, we'll have to go over there again and actually climb the biggest mound. Since it is a 100ft of steps upward that wasn't going to happen today. :rolleyes1 It was a lot of fun though!
