Terra and I spent the afternoon in Cahokia Mounds in Illinois (http://cahokiamounds.org/). Apparently this Native American community grew to 10-20,000 people in 1000AD. They had an archeology day today so we went to check it out. We got to help wash artifacts found on actual dig sites around the area. Terra also learned a Native American game, threw a spear with a spear thrower, knapped some flint (and it's almost actually arrowhead shaped), and talked to a lot of other artisans who do work similar to things that the native people would have done. It was pretty cool. Sometime after Deva comes, we'll have to go over there again and actually climb the biggest mound. Since it is a 100ft of steps upward that wasn't going to happen today.
It was a lot of fun though!
sounds neat
