DDA Chapter 20

I find it scandalous. And that is only partly in jest! I do know that there are other health issues for Jen, but a MONTH with no improvement is a little odd, I think!

i completley agree with you guys--my dr told me there aer so many people coming in with the same symptoms and everyone is getting meds since OTC is just not cutting it

It looks like lots of :wizard: is needed for the DDA!

Janet, I will keep Gary (and you) in my thoughts and prayers.

Debbie, I will also keep your father in my thoughts and prayers.

Jen, I hope that the meds kick whatever you have quickly.

Deb, I hope you and your family are 100% very soon.

Glynis, I hope that your family is feeling better, too.

Heidi, I am glad that your mom is fine!

Thanks for indulging a bragging mom. I will pass along your congratulations to Matthew. Theresa, this high school never gives letter grades. Your grade in class is whatever your average ended up being 0-100. When they compute class rank, they convert to quality points (I think using the 4.0 scale) and weight the honors and AP courses higher. They don't provide that information to the students, though...just the class rank and unweighted GPA. (They do list the formula for calculating GPA in the handbook, but I don't remember exactly what it is.) So, someone could have a higher GPA but rank lower in the class if they weren't taking honors/AP courses.

Thanks for the quotable post Beth.

You, with older girls! Why didn't you warn me! Someone please explain to me why, when my almost 7 year old has several drawers FULL of clothes, I should hear her exclaim from her bedroom "I don't have anything to wear!"? How could it start this young??? :sad2::rolleyes::faint::rotfl2:

Hang in there Tammi!!!!!!!;)

They just hung up on me!

Remember the calls that Elin was asking about not too long ago about "lowering your credit card rate." We've been continuing to get them, and finally today, I pressed 1 instead of hanging up. When a live operator came on the line, she said, "Are you responding to our lower credit card offer?" I said, "I'm responding to tell you that we are on the do-not-call list and I am tired of receiving these calls." I did not even finish speaking before she hung up on me.

That is so annoying!

Mary is definitely NOT sick! She confessed that she just wanted to be home today since Leslie was home yesterday. We talked about the boy who cried wolf, and I told her that if she felt like she wasn't getting enough attention, to let me know, and I'd try to fix it.

You can talk about a whole lot while you have a kid trapped in the car. She had to run all the errands with me, and she got bored quickly. Oh well. Lesson learned, for her.

Janet - I'll remember you and Gary in my prayers

Becky - Glad to hear your dad is home

Heidi - Glad to hear your Mom's cath had good results

Beth - Congrats to Matthew, you definitely have a reason to brag!

Thanks for all the comments on Aubrey's pictures, I need to scan in one of Brandon at that age and post them side by side, Tammi is right, they look like the same baby.

If you don't like bragging, skip this next bit...

Matthew received his class rank and overall GPA the other day. He is 4 out of a class of about 345, and his overall GPA (freshman-first half of senior year) is 97.995 with all honors and AP classes. :goodvibes
WOW!!! HE should be proud of himself too!!!!!

I'm going to ask for some prayers and pixie dust, I found out this evening that my dad will be having a heart cath Wednesday. He has already undergone a triple bypass, (or it may have been a quad), and more recently they had to put in a pace maker, which is runninf his heart at least 90% of the time.

I feel very strongly that the news won't be good, but let's pray that I am wrong.
Prayers fro your Dad!

Sorry I did not post an update last night, Thank you Chanon :goodvibes

We did hear from the Dr. & Gary will be going in for a contrast ct scan, they will call today to let us know when the appointment is. He has a cyst on his left kidney which they say is nothing to worry about & he has a mass on his right kidney. The right kidney is their concern & what they will be looking at more.

This isn't what we were wanting to hear. The mass may turn out to be nothing(hoping & praying), but we are both worried now. We are still at the not knowing stage & it is killing me. I don't think Gary slept at all last night :guilty:

So please keep those good thoughts coming his way.
:hug:Hope you have good answers soon!:wizard:

Home from the dr ..with 3 medications...so im going to lay low today and relax...then take my brother to the airport if im feeling up to it... nothing scandalous yet :)
:wizard:Hope you feel better soon!

Disney Cruise Line announced that it plans to reposition the Disney Wonder from its Florida base in Port Canaveral to the West Coast in 2011. The company is working with the Port of Los Angeles to finalize a two-year agreement with a three-year extension option. The contract will be considered by the Port of Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners on April 2, 2009. If approved, the new Disney Wonder sailings could generate more than 250,000 guests passing through the Port of Los Angeles over a five-year period.

Hey guys i know i havent updated you on the firefighter in awhile, but his family could use your prayers. Its almost been 2 months since the fire (feb 9). He was moved to a long term care place on March 12-still in a coma, no meaningful brain activity, etc. I just saw a message from one of the firefighters that his condition has taken a turn for the worse. There were no details posted, but I know his family (both real and firefighter) could use your prayers...
im sorry to be asking you guys about this topic again..My dad is out of town until tomorrow and i guess when i hear firefighter news, i just wish he was home, stupid i know!

Jen prayers for the firefighter & his family

Well im headed to bed--Im not feeling great yet (im having horrible sinus pains under my eyes) but i am headed back to work tomorrow..I dont want to take off any more days than necessary!
have a great night all!

Hi guys,,,Wow, I watched Dancing With the Stars last night and Cheryl and Gil were absolutely awesome. Talk about passion in a dance. I love dancing and love to watch the show. I was swooning!!!!:lmao:

In answer to someone's post earlier about whether Stephanie has moved....yes she has. She said to delete the 711 address from your DDA file. This was a good move, a little hectic, but a good move. The house is beautiful, I saw it today. I am in love with the kitchen and so, so jealous of the walk in closet. I swear it is three maybe four times the size of the walk in closet in the Roy Disney Suite!!!!

That is EXACTLY what happened when I did that, Beth!!! I then reported them!

:hug::hug:

Does anyone find it odd that Jen gets 3 meds after being sick for a week, and Deb's entire family is sick for a month and she practically has to give up her first born to get some medication.

I hope you feel better. :wizard:

I think it is a bit odd though Jen has a history that me and the boys don't

You, with older girls! Why didn't you warn me! Someone please explain to me why, when my almost 7 year old has several drawers FULL of clothes, I should hear her exclaim from her bedroom "I don't have anything to wear!"? How could it start this young??? :sad2::rolleyes::faint::rotfl2:

OMG :rotfl::rotfl: It is a bit funny, but OMG:eek:

Tammi I would have walked out with drugs on my first visit too. I'm thinking Deb might need a new doctor.

The boys saw not one, but 4 different doctors before they were given meds. I actually got meds on my first visit, though I made sure to wait long enough to be assured the meds

i completley agree with you guys--my dr told me there aer so many people coming in with the same symptoms and everyone is getting meds since OTC is just not cutting it

I get the feeling that the doctors around here are now being a bit more liberal giving out antibiotics since it doesn't go away quickly, unfortunately we were in that first wave of patients and being a virus it should have cleared on its own. I totally understand doctors not handing out antibiotics for every ailment as in many instances they don't help, but actually can cause a superbug and weaken the entire population of the earth overall. Viruses are becoming much more resistant to the treatments that we have because they are able to mutate quicker than we can create new remedies. I understand the need for us to have periods of time when we are sick, but most times our bodies are able to heal themselves. I find that I average antibiotics about once a year, sometimes less. Chris and Nick are much less than that. The younger 2 have had a bit more due to ear infections. If someone is needing antibiotics more often than that then there is probably an underlying cause in their own body. Jen for example has had throat surgery and a tonsilectomy so her average is more than most. I think I was more upset they wouldn't prescribe a cough medicine for the boys rather than an antibiotic as I really thought it was just a virus.
