Elin and Tammi - sorry about the sleet/snow (and the wacky school calendar)! I hope Alyssa's award ceremony went well, Tammi! Is Bob feeling better after his fall in your backyard?
He finally broke down and went to the doctor today. The dr. ordered blood work to make sure he doesn't have an injury to any organs, and he also sent him for chest and rib xrays. He is in a lot of pain, but if he stays medicated he's okay. He probably has a crack or a bad bruise to one of his ribs.

So, look what I did yesterday....

Lindsay, my jaw just hit the floor!!! Congratulations! I'm so happy for both you and Jonathan! Boy or girl? I assume if I keep reading I might find out! See, you don't need a job now!

Ok, I see that it is too early to tell the gender. I'm sorry you are feeling so queasy. I have no advice for you on that, as I didn't go through it. I also didn't go through any cravings either. I actually had very boring, uneventful pregnancies.

The awards assembly was nice. There were 3 different awards presented to each of the first grade classrooms. The first was perfect attendance, so I knew she wasn't getting that. Next was Teacher Recognition, meaning that a student did something wonderful that the teacher wanted him/her recognized for. Not Alyssa. Third was most improved, again not Alyssa. So I knew it had to be the last one, which was the Soarin' Award for Academic Excellence. She got a medal, an Eagle (school mascot) pin (that excited her thanks to our pin collecting) and a Principal's pencil. I went to Walmart after and got her Taylor Swift's new CD as a little gift from me. I'll post some pictures later. I would post the video I took, but everyone was called up by first and last names, plus it has the name of the school and everything, so I'm being kinda cautious about that.

Snow, such a dirty four letter word! We are to have it most days coming.

Unfourtantly it has turned to sleet. Thanks Tia.

Oh no! :wizard: :wizard: that it won't present any travel difficulties in the wee hours of the morning tomorrow!

Lindsay - After 12 weeks you can have caffeine in moderation. ;) Unless that has changed, too! :scared1:

Yes, I can have a limit of 1 caffeinated drink a day, if I must. This has been the worst for me, as I do have a caffeine addiction. I had terrible headaches while we were in Disney, and could only assume it was due to caffeine withdrawl!

I'm trying to be good and stick to juice mixed with sparkling water or caffeine-free Coke. I did allow myself a small regular Coke at McD's yesterday - I just can't stomach Sprite, and their rootbeer has caffeine in it.

Water was actually tasting good for a while, but is on my :scared: list right now. I also normally love milk, but can only handle a bit at a time right now.

Good for him for going to get it checked out. I hope it's not anything serious, and that it heals quickly. :wizard:

Congrats to Alyssa - sounds like quite an accomplishment! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks Tia, Jen, Jennifer and Tammi for the congrats! :goodvibes

with Olivia grapes and peppermints helped not at the same time. Also wating something every couple of hrs helped.

With Virginia nothing really helped. I had phenergan and though it worked it made me sleepy.

Deli meat has been that way for at least 5 yrs. Also no fish from the oceans. I had heart burn with both girls luckily the maalox helped with that. Olivia only in the 2nd trimester. Virginia the 2nd and 3rd.

I thought this must be something new! So what about those of us that already have children :confused3 Garrett & Riley seem normal & healthy to me.

I got heartburn with Riley, but vanilla ice cream seemed to help :thumbsup2

:wizard: for Bob! I have never had a cracked rib but Gary has & he was in a lot of pain.

if I remember correctly it does not affect the baby per se. It can cause mom to get real sick and if she gets to sick then it could cause complications. Especially if she can not keep enough fluids down then she becomes dehydrated and starts cramping. IF those don't stop then its bad for baby.

I hope its not cracked. My mom hit a pot hole about 6yrs ago and rolled her truck. She cracked her ribs. They still give her problems every now and then.
:wizard: for Bob

Lindsay I meant to say. I drank a coke a day with each of my girls and they have no problems. But I also suffer from migraines and Caffeine is one of the things that helps mine. So I drank it as a preventive.

Thank you for the explanation Jennifer!

Vanilla ice cream helps most anything. :teeth:

I ate lunch meat and canned tuna as well.

See I don't ever remember being told that caffeine was a no no either lol I drank lots of pepsi back then, of course now it is no caffeine for me. Makes me to jittery.
