DDA Chapter 18

My child is going to drive me to drink. He REFUSES to wear black or navy pants. So he was up at 6:30, running the dryer because had convinced DH to do laundry last night so he would have TAN pants to wear. I have HAD IT with the tan pants thing. There is absolutely no reason to do laundry mid-week. NONE.

I am also very cranky about the band competition tomorrow. The mom of the annoying kid from the birthday party e-mailed me asking if we would take her kid to the competition. I was going to say no and be done with it, but I asked her what time he was competing. She says he WAS supposed to compete at 11 AM, but she asked the band director to switch his time to something closer to 1:30 (DS's time) so her kid can ride with us. EXCUSE ME? DH talked to the band director about it, and we are all very shocked at the way she went about it. Yet DH says we'll go ahead and take the kid. Great. Now we'll have to wait for them to "work him in". Ever been "worked in" anywhere? It takes HOURS. And this kid will NOT behave for hours. :headache: That's the part that makes me angry. We will have to wait for this kid, and he will annoy me while we are waiting. I have to work Saturday evening, so I was hoping to get in and get out of the competition QUICKLY. My other fear is that this will become a habit, where the mom will pawn her kid off on us whenever she can.

This is not a good start for my Friday! :sad2:

Hope everybody else's day is off to a good start! :)

Good Morning,

Mom and baby went home yesterday,

I'm actually sad it's Friday, my week off is quickly coming to an end. :sad1:

Elizabeth I hope your ay goes better than you are thinking!

Debbie glad to hear mom & baby are home now :cloud9:

Thank you ALL for the prayers and well-wishes (for both Elise and Me! :)) At the moment, she's content. I love the first hour of Tylenol, when she's almost human again

We have a follow-up appointment at 1pm because she was working so hard yesterday in the office. If she's the same or better, we'll just go from here. If she's worse, or we can't keep the fevers down, they'll consider IV antibiotics (hospital admission). I'll let you know.

Make it a great day!

Jennifer I hope Elise is showing improvement for her Dr. visit today :wizard:

Elizabeth - I hope competition tomorrow goes as smoothly as possible for you all!

Jennifer - continued good thoughts headed to Elise (and you).

Debbie - I am glad both your princesses got to go home! Enjoy your last day of R&R ;)

Good Morning DDA!!

Jennifer-I hope your sweet pea is much better this afternoon. I am sure there is somebody who could come and clean your house today so that you aren't worried about that for your event tomorrow.

Jennifer-I am so glad there wasn't more damage to your car or you from the deer run in. You are very lucky deers can do so much damage. I hope it's an easy and cheap fix.

Elin-did you do anything special with Bob for his birthday?

Debbie-I am so glad your baby and her baby are home:goodvibes I can't believe how much Aubrey looks like her brother. :lovestruc

Lindsay-your ticker is so cool.

Tammi-when I had the fight with the laundry last spring the dr. said that the bruises of the bone are worse than actually breaking....they take longer to heal. Hope yourBob is better soon. Have fun at GWL!

Chanon-I am glad to "see" your face around here.

Elizabeth-that mother seems to be a bigger handful than a 2 year old. Hope competition goes well.

I think that is everybody....you all need to stop posting so much at night :lmao:

I hope she has made some improvement. If she does need iv antibiotics she may get better quicker

Jennifer (bear) - I'm glad to hear you weren't hurt in your "run in" with the deer! That happened to Jonathan twice when he would commute from Abilene to Austin to see me when we were dating - that can be so scary, and they can do quite a bit of damage. I hope the repairs are fairly minor. The deer population is almost getting out of control in that area of TX!

This is my fear. I've had it a few times, and the first time I was sick for nearly 3 months. :( Right now though, improvement would be good. She hasn't stopped coughing, literally, in 80 minutes (except to breathe). (thankfully). :(

Oh no - I hope something starts working for her...and quick! I'm sure you'd prefer to keep her home, but maybe I/V antibiotics would help her faster on to the road of recovery. I'll continue praying for you guys.

Oh no, I'm sorry for this, Elizabeth. Does DS have OCD tendencies? My brother did/does, and one of his "things" was laundry. He wore out my parents' washing machine because he would wash ONE pair of jeans every single day (with nothing else), and would about lose it if you tried to reason with him.

And what is up with the other mother?!?! Does she have other children that it makes it impossible (or at least a hardship) to take her DS to this competition, or is she just lazy? I can't believe the lengths she took to get her DS moved around - that's nuts!

I hope your day improves.

SO sweet, Debbie!:goodvibes

I agree - welcome home, Aubrey and Mommy! :cloud9:

:rolleyes1

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

CSR here we come :yay:

Did I ever mention how wonderful Chanon is :goodvibes

Oh my goodness - how wonderful that your trip is back on! So, it looks like you're leaving very soon! Are these your same March dates? More importantly, did you keep your original ADRs????

WTG Chanon! :goodvibes

We have a busy day ahead of us. I'm taking the boys bowling at 2 followed by a quick trip to the vet then off to my class. The whole weekend will be busy. I also suspect that I won't be able to check in very often starting next week. I'm pretty sure that 2 jobs are going to eat into my free time :scared:

Janet congratulations on your impromptu trip. It sounds like fun, but you'd better get packing.:goodvibes
