Elise has pneumonia
The good news is, though, we caught it fairly early I think. She's been sick as I mentioned for about 12 days now, and we were going to start antibiotics at the 14 day mark (studies show even if its viral to cover with abs after ..... blah blah blah. you don't care)
Anyway, today she is SIIIICK. Crying out all day, hot as crap (after her Tylenol kicked in her fever was 102), the cough subsided.... that scares me. When coughs subside, you're either better or you have pneumonia. These were the exact words I told my mom on the phone, except I added "in adults". Apparently, the same is true with children.
My poor girl was stuck half a dozen times for blood, etc and had a bunch of xrays.... all on a crappy day anyway. Boo!
I thought you all would want an update. Hopefully it's bacterial and she'll start feeling better with medicines.
Funny! Bob and I have been planning our vacation in March (not as exciting as Disney, but still fun!) and then we've been having the "what to do with our tax refund" talks.I'm hoping we can redecorate some of our house this summer! I'll have to post some pics of what we are thinking about doing...one room used to be an office and the wall is covered with 1/4 inch cork. I swear they cemented it to the wall...

Look forward to seeing your redecorating ideas!
Kingdom Keepers IIWhat are you reading? I'm finishing up White Oleander, and then will start I Am the Messenger. I'd forgotten how much reading a person can do when they are nursing!
Thanks for the info. I'll let him know what he is feeling is normal!Alan had something similar recently. He was moving his sister and slipped on some grass while carrying one end of a couch. He landed on his back, on a rock, with the couch on his chest. He was positive that he had cracked a rib, but the x-ray didn't show anything. The doctor said it was a deep bruise. The pain lasted from November through January. It still hurts him when he coughs or sneezes, but not when he breathes anymore. I hope Bob feels better soon!
I'm glad you didn't get hurt.So I forgot to post this Wed.
Tues on the way to work a deer ran into my van. The deer hit in front of the front passenger tire. There is some missing paint in a couple off spots. Blood from said deer in a couple of spots. The bumper is missing a small piece. The biggest thing is the plastic that goes inside the wheel housing was rubbing on the tire. of course I did not hear this while driving the rest of the way to work. I started to hear it when I was driving home. The plastic clips that hold it on got broke on impact with the deer.

Oh nooooo. Pneumonia takes forever to be completely gone. Hunter had it a few years ago and he could still feel it months later. He certainly improved almost immediately with meds, but it hurt to take a deep breath for a long timeixiedust: that shw completely recovers quickly and that it is not viral. We wouldn't want Avery to catch it.

This is my fear. I've had it a few times, and the first time I was sick for nearly 3 months.Right now though, improvement would be good. She hasn't stopped coughing, literally, in 80 minutes (except to breathe). (thankfully).
