HOORAY!!! :yay: I'm so happy for you!

So she can meet me, of course! :teeth:

Honestly one of the 1st things I said to Gary is that now hopefully I will get to meet you & your babies :goodvibes

Jennifer - That's one of the reasons I am glad I didn't go into case management at the AIDS agency. One of the case managers was telling me that people come in with their hair and their nails, yapping on their cell phones, whining that they can't afford their meds and can't pay the electric bill. And if you suggested any sort of lifestyle alterations they would get all pissy. If they qualify for assistance they take it, and no matter how much they get, there are always the ones who want more because they "deserve" it.

And when they get all pissy, somebody listens and pays their electric bill for them, no? And medicaid covers their meds. Fabulous! :sad2:

I hope it works out! I'm actually meeting Vicki and Becky at a breakfast for the race, hopefully, because it will be hard to know exactly what we're doing since we have no idea how the girls will do. What are your parks/ADRs, maybe something matches up nicely!

All right, my break is over. I was waiting for the floors to dry, but now it's time to put the kitchen back together! :rotfl:

Have a great afternoon, all!

Tammi-I heard part of that story this morning and it ticked me off. There are people who truly need the help but it's stories like this (and Jennifer's) that tick people off. The part I heard of the story is that the foundation is offering it's help but the Octomom hasn't even responded....the lady is getting nuttier and nuttier as time goes on.

Not always, because sometimes there just isn't enough money. The agency I was with was info & referrals, they didn't actually give the clients anything. The case managers were there to look at each client's needs and provide referrals to the services they qualified for. It was up to the clients to go apply for food stamps or contact the electric company for assistance or whatever. The agency's motto was about "empowering" vs. "enabling". But still, the entitled ones would show up ranting and raving. :rolleyes1

Theresa - The link Tammi posted mentioned that part of the services would include counseling for Octomom. I bet that's why she hasn't responded.
I told Mom I would pay for a plane ticket for Diva last year, contingent on Mom putting her into counseling. Mom said "Then I don't want the ticket." People who desperately need psychiatric care will go to great lengths to avoid it!

Looks like from your post a while back the only days that we will be at the same parks is the day of your arrival & the following Mon., both at MK.

We are going to try this trip without hoppers, so I am going against the grain & going to parks with EEH.

I hope we can meet up, even if just for a few minutes!

I am sooooo furious this morning. It all started when I was getting ready for work and was listening to the Early Show in the background. They had an organization on there called Angels in Waiting, who made an offer to Octomom to provide her with a house and around the clock medical care for ALL of her 14 children, cost-free. This will cost the organization $130,000 a month and they are hoping to get donations from the public.

I could have just screamed. Here's a woman that has thought about nothing other than herself. Not about the health of her children or what kind and how she would provide a life for them. Then there is the doctor that aided in this. Why are these 2 people not held accountable for their actions.

After that this whole foreclosure crap got on my nerves, about how the govt. is going to make it easy for people who are facing foreclosure to revamp their loans.

Then to top it off my kids have a father that expects that he should get our children for holidays because he is entitled to them, like they are trophies on a shelf that he can take down and play with whenever he wants, and put them away when he is finished.

I am so sick and &^%$^&( tired of people getting hand-outs because they are "entitled" to them. People get themselves into situations and want the rest of the country to 'rescue' them.

Where is my rescuing? My handout? My piece of the pie? I have to work like crazy and sacrifice so I can provide a decent life for myself and my kids. Why do some people think that this doesn't apply to them????

I'm sorry if this upsets or offends anyone. I guess the reason that all of this stuff bothers me is because it sits so close to home for me. Sorry, but I am over the top infuriated by all of this.

I whole heartedly agree. She doesn't need money or assistance, she needs counseling and her kids need to be put into foster care with parents that have some sort of brain function. The whole welfare system is out of control. I guess maybe I should have applied for assistance instead of taking on a third job :confused3 I'm sure we would have made out better in the end, but that is not how I'm made. It is MY responsibility to provide for my family, I don't feel that I'm entitled to anything. My new job will just about make up the difference in what Chris isn't bringing home with this weak economy. His paychecks have been down $300 - $400 per week. You haven't heard any complaints from us, we are just reevaluating our priorities and figuring out how to bring in more income. It's too bad that so many people are unwilling to do just that, but they are willing to whine and cry until they are given things :sad2:

I agree

:lmao: Best reason I've ever heard of for a trip!:rotfl:

I hope Elise feels better soon!!

Jennifer, glad you're ok! I totaled my aunt's car when I was 16 by hitting a deer.

Elizabeth, I hope the other kid is on his best behavior and you don't have to wait long! :goodvibes

Stephanie is staying home again today. The fever seems to be gone, but she's still totally stuffed up. I may take her with me to work for a couple hours. She can play on the computer and watch movies on my laptop.

I'm sorry Stephanie is still sick.

Jen -- that is terrible about Elise. I hope the doctor's appointment goes well and they think she is already responding to the meds. Jake had pneumonia at about the same age, and it was terrifying.

I worked late last night and early this morning so I could spend some time with Andrew today, since he's also out of school today. I hope Jake has been enjoying his time at Great Wolf Lodge. I haven't heard anything from them, so I guess that's a good sign.

Have a good day everyone.

It's for her and Gary. All because he made breakfast for dinner for her last night. :teeth:

So... let me get this straight...

You booked a trip for "them" because he made dinner for her?

That would be like you booking one for myBob and me on his say-so. :rotfl2:

Tammi - you will get no complaints from me for your rant! Our country is so out of whack right now I am hoping and praying something starts to work!

Thanks Anne Marie!

Heard anything on house 2 yet?
Not yet, they have til Sunday at 5pm to respond. Again, I have to keep calm & not get emotional about the house. If they want more than we are comfortable with than we move on to the less expensive house #3.

Tammi,
I agree completely with your comments. We pay our mortgage & go without certain things to do so. So why are we being punished???:confused3

Chanons Bob cooked her dinner the other night & I told Gary about it. So when he fixed breakfast for dinner last night he said to make sure & tell Chanon. I guess it is sorta a joke between us :rotfl:
