DDA Chapter 17

I think it is 6 months Tammi.

Tammi, when I was waiting for our March dates to open up, I found somewhere online that talked about Airtran's schedule openings. I can't find it or remember exactly what it was, but I know it's not like SW where an entire month/time period becomes open. I booked my flight about 6 months and 3 weeks ahead (based on my receipt info), but I know that the weeks prior were open SEVERAL weeks earlier than mine, and when my weeks opened up it didn't even go through the end of the month. I think they just open whenever they get it ready, somewhere between 6 and 8 months.... which I know doesn't help.
Thanks. I'm just trying to price airfare for August.

::yes::

I may not make it to Disney this year, but I am going to Europe with Gary!

Our plans are to leave after Thanksgiving for 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. We hope to visit some different places this time. Gary has some ideas & as soon as I know more solid details I will let you all know :thumbsup2

I am still a little bummed about the trip in March, but I think this will take care of that lol

That's great!

Good morning all!!

I am a little flumoxed this morning because I think we might have the warmest weather here in Colorado...we will get to about 60 today.

Janet-I would love another trip to Europe what a wonderful ticker to have.

My bs'ers were so funny today....they all took clothes and items to dress a sculpture (a headless bust) in their hang out spot today. I told them "I can't take you anywhere":rotfl2: I wish I had known as I would have taken a camera to get as evidence.

How exciting! :cool1:

Marci - I hope you can avoid having any layoffs at work!
Feel better soon! pixiedust:

Bernadette - No, packing up Christmas does NOT count as packing for WDW. Nice try, though.
We only had one ornament fatality (that I am aware of). Arabella knocked off a glass ball and shattered the top out of it. I didn't realize it was glass. Luckily it wasn't one I had any attachment to.

Jennifer - I don't think bus vandals are the studying type. ;)

Anne Marie - I hope one of the re-shows makes an offer on the house!

I put gas in my car, went to the bank, picked up DS, and now we're back home. I have Princess's laundry in the dryer so her blanket will be ready for nap. I think the kids will insist on going out for lunch, so we'll probably head for McDonald's. Princess wanted to go there on Monday but DS wanted Wendy's. Some weeks we get McDonald's after ballet, but we didn't do that yesterday.

I suggest you don't do what I did this morning. Dawn and I went grocery shopping and I wore gloves but left them in the car, so when putting my groceries in the car I couldn't feel my fingers except for the burning.

no school again today...regular temperature -16!!! :faint: :crazy2:

I put some Valium on Bill's cornflakes this morning!!

We never have school cancelled for being too cold. They've been when it was over 40 below. The school was a bit chilly today, but not too bad. Recesses were of course cancelled, but it was only a half day anyway. Hunter forgot that I was working at the school and got on the bus. I ended up searching for him for 15 minutes. The other 4 kids all found me fine  The office finally called the bus driver on the CB and confirmed that he was aboard. I have no idea how he forgot as we discussed where to meet before school and he came into my classroom looking for a snack since he forgot one. :confused3 The kids are off now until Tuesday and Tuesday will be spent on the Inauguration. They have set up a wicki forum or some such thing for the kids to blog on. They are also having a formal "ball" for 8th period. The kids are supposed to dress up, but Nick isn't at all into it. I can see a fight looming.

It is now 2 degrees outside. It's a regular heat wave :lmao: My nephew informed me this morning that the outside temperature was 92 degrees colder than the temperature in his house :scared: Now that kind of scary.

I would say don't worry just yet, when I was her age I was the same way and the school thought that I was delayed (of course that's not what they called it back then). So they suggested to my mom that I should be tested, well guess what there was nothing wrong.

She often sounds out the words backwards-like makes the "n" sound first when sounding out "in". I don't know if that is something I should worry about yet or not.

oh my good golly! Just to apply for some jobs you have to jump through so many hoops.:sad2: I did forget to tell you all that I did get through to the second round on a job for the city of Denver. The bad part is the testing is the morning after our Avalanche game.

Elin - Speaking of jobs...how is Kathrin's new job? (And forgive me too if I just toally mixed up the two girls.) I hope that your paperwork is soon over and out of the way.

If I missed anything, I'm sorry. I was working off of memory. An extra dose of very warm :wizard: to everyone today! Sounds like we all need it, at least the warm part. We were -2 with ugly windchills yesterday morning. It got all the way up to 10, I think, even warmer than they though. woohoo! ;) Today is supposed to be mid-teens with uglier winds.

Hi, Tia! You got the right DD and she is enjoying being employed with actual writing to do already. Thanks for asking. :)

Not only is Festival paperwork done, but it is all turned in with not one mistake on all 55 pages!!!

Now... on to compositions.

and, FWIW... I think your memory is phenomenal! I don't think you really could have hit many more of the DDA highlights! :thumbsup2

Back to the studio for afternoon lessons. Stay warm, everyone!

Too bad about that timing!

Well, thanks. I'm sure I looked interesting sitting there staring at an imaginary map of the US and running my eyes north to south naming DDAers seeing if I remembered everything.

Well, we are back from Chuck E Cheese and ordering pizza. Um, yeah, that's what I said. We got a cinnamon stick thingy there and a few drinks, plus lots of tokens. I actually had to get the kids out early since Kristi forgot to take her keys from me to get in the house and meet the cable guy. So, now we have a few tokens to get us started next time. So, now were are ordering yummy pizza instead of the not so yummy CEC stuff.

Well, Chase wants the computer to watch a movie so I gots to skedaddle.

Okay -- here's a start to a mini-report with some pics from our

December/January WDW Trip

Since my family believes that you have to have your Christmas decorations down before January 1st, or it will bring you bad luck, we had to get down all our decorations on Christmas day. We did manage to get them all down, and Randy and the boys, along with their cousins, carried them up the stairs and in to our attic the next morning. While they did this, I began packing…the day we were leaving. Actually, since our flight was so early on Saturday (to save money and points), we decided to stay at an airport hotel, so we weren’t actually flying out until the next day. Another bonus -- the rate on the hotel plus the parking that was included in the package made doing this very economical. I think we paid $30 over the cost of parking.

Saturday

We got up at 5, dressed and headed down to the terminal to check-in. All went well, as there was a very short line. After checking in, we jumped on the Skylink tram to take us to a different terminal. We got there, bought a phone charger for Andrew (somehow we packed the wrong charger for him) and managed to get to the gate as they were calling our section. We actually left pretty close to on-time, and landed at MCO on-time. We took the tram to get our luggage, hopped the Hertz bus, and ended up at our Ford Edge fairly quickly. We programmed the hotel in to the GPS, though we know the way by heart, and set off for the Grand Floridian.

Upon arrival, we were met and escorted to the concierge check-in. Our room wasn’t available and our favorite CM’s weren’t working, so we stowed our backpacks with the rest of our luggage and headed to Gaspie’s for lunch. Next we caught the monorail over to the MK. I had warned everyone how crowded it would be to show up at 2 p.m. two days after Christmas… and it was bad. Very bad. We did get to ride in the front on the way over, so that was cool. In fact, it became a mission of Jake’s to see how many times we could ride in the front, and we ended up doing it quiet often. I would have felt a little guilty, but most of the time we walked up to a crowd already there, and no one had thought to ask so Jake got the nod. He really wanted to get enough monorail pilot cards to give to all 11 kids in his class, but he was short a couple of cards on the last day. He and Randy went to the monorail station in the hotel, told them what they wanted, and were given a stack of cards.

After arriving at the MK, we got a fast pass for Buzz, but that didn’t have a return until after 5, so we rode the TTA and Carousel of Progress. It was pretty warm, so we headed over to a cart for drinks/ice cream. The girl liked our shirts so she told us that Mickey was buying our things. (Go longhorns!) We decided to head back to the GF as we wanted to unpack and get ready for dinner.

Our room was ready, and was on the 4th floor, 4417. I really wasn’t that impressed with this room. It didn’t have a Castle view (which I’d been spoiled by) and it didn’t have the daybed so we could separate the boys if we needed to. I politely asked if we could move. The lady behind the desk sort of laughed and said the castle view was full. We unpacked, refrigerated all the drinks I had ordered from Garden G r o c e r, the wine from w I n e dot com, changed clothes and set off via monorail to the Contemporary.

We were going to the California Grill for dinner and quickly checked in before getting in the elevator to make our way to the restaurant. We had never eaten there, but it’s become a new fav. We were as far back as you can be from the windows, but it was will cool. The boys enjoyed going out on the deck and looking at the MK. After dinner, I did a little shopping and the boys headed over to the GF marina to check in for our Wishes cruise. It was the holiday version, and was pretty cool.

We washed our hands constantly and used Purell to try to stave off the stomach bug making the rounds…
