DDA Chapter 17

To all of you with bad weather, I hope you are staying safe and warm. I know it's not bad compared to what some of you have, but it's 14 here with a high today of 18. I can't imagine what the sub zero temps feel like!

Good Morning. It's a balmy -22 degrees here. I'm teaching language arts today so there is no staying in. I'll make sure that we are all dressed in plenty of layers as I'm sure the school will be cold too.

Good morning,

I woke up to my house being 55 degrees inside. :scared: Sooooo cold!!!!

It's 10 outside.

Stay warm friends!!!

Good Morning.

Deb its only -3 here, much warmer.

The truck was hesitant to start this morning, but she did :thumbsup2 I told Chris he'd better start the car before I leave just in case.

Wow, the weather forecast is showing -38 degrees in the UP. I hope Vicki and family are warm.

I hope that everyone is able to stay warm today. It looks like a great day to snuggle in front of the fire or maybe take a cozy nap.

We're off to school, but it is only a half day for all. Colby gets to stay for lunch today so he is pretty excited. Just one more week and he will be staying for full days anyway. My baby is growing up.

It's a balmy 8 degrees here. :cold:

There was a miracle indeed on the Hudson. I want Sully as my pilot.:thumbsup2

Good morning, DDA!!! I was so close to catching up last night, but then got booted from the computer for science homework. But, I finally made it this morning.

Katie - Congratulations on the advanced placement classes!!! That is great news. Our honor's classes were, in my opinion, a little more fun than the regular classes. I hope you find the same!

Cassi - Congratulations on passing the driving test! That can be nerve wracking.

Elizabeth - I'm glad your mom's first day went well. I hope the continued affects stay to a minimum. DS' party sounds great! I hope everyone can come.

Kristine - All I can say...OUCH!!!! And...I totally feel your pain! I've had similar issues twice and in not too wonderful of places like you as well. I hope the surgery is small and takes care of it quickly.

Theresa - Good luck with the job offer. Sounds like a good place to start and with any luck it will go full-time soon. I will have to say I'm with you on the potty issue, though.

Lindsey - So good to see you!!! I'm glad to find someone else who was happy to see the Sooners lose. My sister was thrilled. She said she was fine with not being the bigger person and just rooting for them because they were Big 12 South as my uncles "claim" they would have if Texas was in the championship. I'm glad you have the opportunity to take some time to figure out your path before diving into the job search. I'm sure that will benefit you greatly in the long run.

Elin - Speaking of jobs...how is Kathrin's new job? (And forgive me too if I just toally mixed up the two girls.) I hope that your paperwork is soon over and out of the way.

Karen - Happy belated Birthday!!!!

Bernadettte - I'll take a look at our quarters and see if we can help.

Tammi - I love your Photopass pictures! They look great. Those borders are nice too. I was getting really bored with our options in the end.

Jen - I'm glad you found a Wii. Good luck with the Fit as well. Terra would love to have a Wii Fit. On Christmas day, I told her that maybe we could tell everyone that's what she wanted for her birthday and pool her birthday money. Then, the house thing came up and she wants a playset for our backyard plus stuff for her new room as well so I guess we'll see what happens.

Deb - I'm glad that Hunter's tests all came back normal. I hope that the cardiologists read of the EKG is the same. Lots of :wizard: that things clear up for him soon. Have they considered the diziness as part of migraines? I have "painless" migraines that consist only of room spinning issues or visual issues. Since he was having such headaches too, I wondered if they might be related.

Anne Marie - Hope that Katie found her glasses. Any more traffice through your house? I hope so!

Marci - Happy birthday to Randy! I hope that your cold or sinus junk moves out quickly and you're feeling better.

Debbie - Two inventories in one year. Yuck!! I hope it still allows you at least a quick trip in August with everyone else.

If I missed anything, I'm sorry. I was working off of memory. An extra dose of very warm :wizard: to everyone today! Sounds like we all need it, at least the warm part. We were -2 with ugly windchills yesterday morning. It got all the way up to 10, I think, even warmer than they though. woohoo! ;) Today is supposed to be mid-teens with uglier winds.

Just wanted to say :wave2: quickly, before we head to the Studios.

We're having a great trip! Of course, time flies at WDW, but we still have three whole days left. It's "only" supposed to reach 58 today. I hope all of you are staying warm!

For whatever reason, we all woke up super early today. Hopefully the kiddos won't be too grumpy...maybe Matty and Alyssa will actually nap. Little Noah has been cat-napping this whole week and sleeping decently at night (only 1-2 wake-ups). Following Hardman tradition, he exploded yesterday, and he got me good. As a result, I have a new $54.95 (plus tax) hoodie.

I better get moving. Kevin is REALLY hoping for a soft opening of The American Idol Experience. We also plan to ride Toy Story Mania a couple more times...wow, is it awesome!

The drive down took 18 hours, including nobody really sleeping through the night and a bout of car sickness an hour before we got to WDW. Hopefully our drive home Monday will be non-eventful! Talk with you all soon. Take care! :grouphug:

We've got half days here as well. We were going to take the kids to Chuck E Cheese after the lunch rush, but I'm not sure now. Kristi's got the cable guy coming between noon and 4 and he says it could take up to 4 hours. (Good grief!) Apparently, he may need to run some new lines. We're hoping for closer to noon and a short visit. Of course, Kristi would need to be feeling better as well. She had that nasty stomach thing yesterday and still look "like crap" as her dear husband put it at 6pm last night. Guess maybe Chuck E Cheese will wait since I'm not sure I'm up for taking the 5 kids on my own today on a day when it will be potentially crowded. Eh, who am I kidding. I'm usually up for stuff like that. Maybe we will go. If I want to take them all to WDW by myself with only Rachel as my help, what's Chuck E Cheese. (We'd do WDW when the kids are about 5-10 and Rachel is 16 so that does make a little difference.)

Get a ride in for us as well! We LOVE the Toy Story ride. In CA we rode it 4 times back to back - one time with each color gun, Terra says. Hope everyone has a grump-free day. Enjoy!!!

Good morning, DDA!

I guess we are the DDA hot spot with a temp of 24. I don't know if the wind is blowing. :confused3

DS gets out at 10:20 today. I have to remember to go get him. Hopefully Princess will remind me. :rotfl:

We REALLY have to put the Christmas stuff away this weekend. It will be good to take all that stuff back to the storage unit. The living room is still all in a jumble because of the cocktail table and the Wii Fit. Once the tree is down we should be able to move the table to the corner so the balcony door will open. Not that I want the table in the corner long term, but it will work while I shop for end tables.

Now, I have to brag on Katie for a while. In November, she took a test to try to earn a place in the advanced programs for English, History and Science at our Jr. High. If she got in, it would mean she was in that program for the entire time of her jr. high, and she would automatically enroll in AP classes in high school. She was so nervous! She took the test, and we waited and waited for the results. We didn't hear anything by Christmas and figured that she hadn't made it. Well, we got a letter of acceptance yesterday! She was so excited! And to make things even better, 2 of her best friends were also accepted! This has been just the best thing for her self esteem. Lately she's been down because some of the "popular" girls are making fun of her. She's not the standard stick figure, and has started to develop, and so she's become an object of ridicule! None of those girls are in the advanced program, so that made her feel pretty good!

Anyway, that's the news from Utah! Talk to y'all later!

That is terrific news!

Amy -- thanks for checking in. I'm glad it seems your kids are letting you get a little sleep. I hope your last three days are very magical and the trip home is uneventful.

Merrie and I had to make some tough decisions yesterday at work. We haven't had to layoff yet, but made significant changes to benefits. Everyone was very receptive to the changes, and just thankful to still have jobs. I work with a great group of people! If our clients who have training budgets frozen would get the go-ahead for training, we might not have to let anyone go.

Lots to do this weekend, but I'm still feeling crappy. I have an appt. at 9, and will see what he says. I'm pretty sure this will give me a "pass" to skip some of the events this weekend.

Take care and keep warm everyone!

Nope, she didn't. We have an appointment on Monday to get her new ones & maybe contacts. We have 2 "reshows" this weekend. Apparantly 2 people like it enough to want to see it again. Thanks for asking & stay warm.

It's a balmy 8 degrees here. :cold:

Absolutely.

Marci,
Hope you feel better... Happy belated birthday to Randy.
