Thanks Elin, things are fine so far. We have closing ceremonies for Brandon's football today and afterwards we are taking him to lunch, knowing him he will want Mexican.

I'm so sorry to hear about Bob's job, I really believe in my heart that things will make a turn around for the economy, not in the very near future but it will happen. I'm glad you are still making the trip, even without the extras you will still have a magical time, and what better place to take your mind off your troubles.

Robyn - I'm so sorry about your friend.
I absolutely love your pictures

Elizabeth - hopefully you will here from your Mom soon and all will be well

Glynis - Good to see you!

To all of you in Disney now, hope you're having a great time, it's pretty cold her so I imagine it is there too.

Heidi - I'm sorry for your loss

Deb - I hope you get your computer fixed, I'm a bit like you when it comes to not giving up on fixing things myself.

Hi Theresa - I'm having a hard time finding the last two State quarters I need for my books, I have the "P" ones but the "D"s are hard to find around here, what about in your neck of the woods?

Good morning...

Today is going to be a long day. I am going to training this morning and then will leave from there and head directly to the memorial service for our friend. Eric and Emma will meet me there along with the 3 other moms from preschool and one of Emma's friends.

Emma has her Sunday School Christmas play tonight. My inlaws have Mo and will bring her to the play tonight. My mom has Lucy and will bring her. Eric has his final exam tonight from 7-10pm. I imagine by the time we get home tonight we will fall into bed, exhausted and emotionally drained.

Tomorrow they are doing the play at both services and then my parents, sister, and niece & nephew are coming over for a small Thanksgiving dinner. We are hoping to get the tree up and decorated.

I love the weekends but man when they are jammed packed like this they go so fast. And of course, it feels like I've accomplished nothing.

Enjoy your day.

Wow. I hope you can relax in there somewhere

Elin, I'm sorry about having to cut back your trip, but it will still be a Disney trip afterall

I've had a bit of a rough morning. What I thought would be a simple phone call to Sears has me angry beyond words. I think I mentioned last night that my Mother had ordered a bicycle at Sears.com for $68.88. When the package arrived yesterday it was a double jog stroller. So this morning I call and pointed out there error and requested that they send the correct product. I was told that it is now out of stock, but they would be happy to refund us the money. I explained that was unacceptable as we are not able to purchase another bike at that price at this time. It is obviously their error and they have already received the money so they need to find the correct bike or comp us a similar one. They are not at all willing to do either. They want to pick up the stroller and give us a whopping 10% discount for our inconvenience. I can get 10% off anyday so that is not at all helpful. Plus the only available bikes start at $249 now :scared1: I ended up speaking to 3 people and they all tried to manipulate the conversation back to it being my problem. I explained that it is not my problem as I have in my possession a $299.99 stroller and they have $68.88. If they want the stroller back they need to provide the bicycle. I even tried to explain to them that even though the computer is showing that the item is no longer available, the bike that we ordered is sitting on a warehouse shelf somewhere. One lady even told me that I was her 3rd call in 20 minutes, apparently they sent the stroller out for other bikes too. So somewhere there is a warehouse full of bikes. One CS rep told me she wouldn't even order another bike from Sears.com since you probably wouldn't get what you ordered anyway :scared1: Now isn't that great customer service? I requested to speak with a manager and they are supposed to call me within 24 hours. The supervisor kept insisting that she will be sending a pick up slip. I told her not to bother, no pick up until I have a bike  We'll see where it goes from here. I just couldn't believe that they were unwilling to do anything. How hard is it for Sears to call a warehouse just to find out what happened? Obviously that is too much to ask. So if they won't work with us we will be keeping the stroller and selling it on ebay, then we can use the money to buy a more expensive bike.

So am I overreacting? Does satisfaction guaranteed mean anything? WWYD? :confused3

I just looked at Sears.com. I wasn't near a computer when I was speaking with them earlier. Turns out that the bike we ordered is regularly $99.99 and they have a huffy, in stock for $109.99. Wouldn't it be worth it to them to substitute that bike? Ugh frustrating. Hell I'd even give them $10 to get it over with.

Hi Theresa - I'm having a hard time finding the last two State quarters I need for my books, I have the "P" ones but the "D"s are hard to find around here, what about in your neck of the woods?

I'll ask Cassidy...she's been watching the state quarters....which ones specifically are you looking for??

Just saw this on the DIS:

The Coral Reef restaurant at Epcot will not be doing diver signs and personalized menus in 2009.

Well, we sat down and did the cuts to the trip. Here is what we have so far:

  • Canceled Segway Tour and the carriage ride.
  • Canceled Le Cellier for Bob and me (will eat at Sunshine Seasons instead!)
  • Canceled Boatwright's Dining Hall for Bob and me (will eat at the food court probably, instead)
  • Canceled Yachtsman Steakhouse for the four of us (we have GF Tea at 2:30 that afternoon anyway)

We just saved about $450, I think. That ought to make things a bit better in my mind. :goodvibes

Deb - Sears is crazy to argue with you! Go get 'em!!

Hi Theresa - I'm having a hard time finding the last two State quarters I need for my books, I have the "P" ones but the "D"s are hard to find around here, what about in your neck of the woods?

What are the two that you are looking for? My mom is collecting them for us and she usually ends up with extra of everything.

Disney has cut hours for Christmas week and apparently CMs hours are also being cut.

They have also cut back on the days of the Flower Power concerts. :sad2:

So as not to be just a bearer of bad news... there are lots of discounts out there right now for dates beginning in January! :yay:

Of course no manager has returned my call yet. I suspect they like to wait as long as they can within the 24 hour return call period for customers to "cool off". Of course my mind is reeling. I'm thinking it could be considered "bait and switch" since they cannot provide me with what I ordered, but want more money for a similar item :confused3 I'm hoping that I don't have to push to that extreme. Maybe the manager will be more willing to discuss options. Better yet, maybe someone is actually trying to locate the damn stack of undelivered bikes:rotfl2:

Elin I'm sorry that you had to cut out so many things. I'm sure that overall it won't effect the experience. You will be at Disney for Christmas afterall.

When I read your post that Coral Reef wouldn't be doing the diver or personalized menus I told Chris we needed to go before 2009 :lmao: Can you believe that he laughed at me. :confused3 Of course he is currently cutting up the Mickey Head shaped pizza with the Mickey pizza cutter and serving it on our Mickey pizza plates. He wanted to know who wanted an ear :goodvibes

I am changing my email. If anyone wants it, pm me. My old one will work until Jan. 1 when we are going to cancel it. I pay $10 a month for it (I've had it for about 15 years). I am emailing it to those that I have emailed me recently.

Any fruit cake eaters here? I just got mine in the mail today. :cool1:

I order from http://www.trappistmonks.com/

I've never actually tried fruitcake. It always looks good to me, but for some reason, I never get to try any. I watched Alton Brown make some last night, and it looked so yummy to me. Maybe this will be my year for some fruitcake.

Deb - I hope you can get the bike issue sorted out! Very frustrating!

I am not surprised about the divers and menus. It was one of those things that once word got out it just mushroomed out of control. The poor girl Debbi at Coral Reef who had to organize them must be counting down the days! :rotfl2:

I wonder of the cuts are all related to a huge drop in attendance? I wonder if they can already see a trend away from past years so they know to scale back? I guess we'll see.
