Random things I found putzing around the boards today -

Wolfgang Puck's is offering 30% off lunch to DVC members. 50% off lunch on Mondays, no discount on Saturdays. No word on when that will end.

There are new options coming for "celebrations" at select TS restaurants. You will be able to add things like a centerpiece, a goody bag, a DELUXE goody bag (that makes me laugh), a pirate mini cake or a princess mini cake. Prices range from about $6 - $15ish.

Signature restaurants will have a dinner for 2 package that includes your meal plus some little extras like an etched champagne flute. Available ONLY for parties of 2, cost about $150.

Well, my morning got a little easier. Erin had one person that had said she could watch Kayling, but only for the morning. She called her again and she will watch her while we do Breakfast with Santa and the cooking class. I'll just pick Kaylin up on the way home. Plus, this girl lives really close to us so that's even better.

That's good! I miss the "breakfast with Santa" days. Sigh. Princess is so petrified of Santa I don't think that will be an option with her for many years to come. :rotfl2:

Yep, that's what happened for Rock n' Roller Coaster. The posted time was 40 minutes (which is longer than I would normally wait as well) but my niece was really upset that she had chickened out so I waited in line with her.

I can totally understand that situation. You get to the point where you hate to get OUT if the line because you have already invested so much time in it!

Good evening.

Elin- I am so sorry about Bob's job situation. Lots of :wizard:

Heidi- Many 's for tomorrow.

Kristine- Lots of :wizard: for Bill's son and wife.

Tia- Lots of :wizard: for Kristi.

Theresa- Continued 's and :wizard: Just keep swimming.

Jen- Have fun in NYC

Terry & Steffy- Sounds like you are both having a blast!!

Deb- I hope the computer issues are resolved.

For those of you not on face book, here are some of our photos from today

I love the photos. You have a beautiful family. Lucy just lights up for the camera doesn't she. :goodvibes

I am home now. Roads were good most of the way. I can't believe there is less snow here than in Lansing. Chuck is helping me setup my webcam.

I'm glad that you are home safe. I hope you can relax a bit this weekend.

:goodvibes Well, we had a really nice day. :goodvibes :goodvibes

I have to charge up my Iphone before I can post the picture of Tinkerbell and Tinker1bell, but it is really cute. :goodvibes

We had the best meal at Narcoose. Yum! And Elizabeth, I hate to admit it, but you are right about the dining plan vs the wonderland card. So far, we have saved money. Even with me getting the surf and turf at Narcoose!:lovestruc

We are dead tired. I just took some Bayer back and body, and I'm getting ready to get my shower, while Terry uses the aircard. Hope I can post a picture tonight. Tomorrow we do the 4 parks. :scared1:

Oh yes, I also need to tell you all that I think we packed enough.:rolleyes1 When Terry got into the car, the entire back of my car dipped toward the ground. My front end flew up! I can't believe that piece tipped the scales at exactly 50 pounds. We have so much stuff we can barely move in here. But the room is cute. We have spent a total of 30 minutes in it. I am so glad we're doing value!!!:cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

We have 8:00 am ADR at Tusker House tomorrow, so we better get sleeping!

Hope you all are having great days. I haven't been able to keep up. I'm way back on page 116 or so. Well, Terry's on the floor going through her suitcases moaning about something, so I'm going to give her the aircard, and I'm going to take a nice hot shower.

That's all for now!!

Oh, Dole whip floats rock!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Work was actually fairly busy tonight. What a wonderful change :goodvibes

Tomorrow morning I will take the boys to breakfast with Santa at 8 AM. Hopefully Santa is on time as they have bowling at 8:45. With any luck I will get some Christmas things done here over the weekend. I do need to pick up groceries at some point and a few more Christmas things that I realized I haven't picked up yet.

My Mother called this evening to say that the bike she ordered for Hunter arrived today only it was a jogging stroller :confused3 Apparently Sears sent the wrong item. Now I can try to sort that out tomorrow too. I'm pretty sure Hunter doesn't want a jog stroller :rotfl:

That's good! I miss the "breakfast with Santa" days. Sigh. Princess is so petrified of Santa I don't think that will be an option with her for many years to come. :rotfl2:

I would totally be up for it if I had a double stroller and had a hope of navigating it around. However, with several sets of stairs (though small ones) and only one stroller seat, I'm thinking this will be better. I do like it though there is so much going on there any more - all you can eat pancakes and sausage, Santa, bake sale, book fair, secret shop.

So we got the board out to put the train and tree on but neither of them are set up yet. We have to get the tree, lights and ornaments from the attic. The train has to come out of storage.

I have to decorate my Cubbie at work as well.

We will probably go to Hershey for Christmas Candylane tomorrow.

Robyn - Love the pictures!

Elizabeth - Hope you are able to get ahold of your Mom and that the reaction is something normal.

Becky - Glad your mom has something at least short term. Any chance it could extend?

She could have stayed at school as they had offered her another position and was still working there. But she just wanted out.

The new position is at the Hospital. It could extend to another position. The date she wanted to start was in another two weeks but the initial class was already full. So she could wait till January with no guarantee of a position or start on Monday and have a spot. She ended up telling them yesterday her last day is today. Her new boss, as the previous one had passed away could not believe the school did what they did to her.

She is hired through another company, but some people do the same thing and work through the hospital, but I think you need to start working through this company to get a position. They are opening a rehab type facility currently under construction through the same hospital, which is closer. They will definitely need food people to work there. So she is hoping that she can put in for a position there to be on the opening crew, hopefully in management and with benefits including medical.

As of January my parents will have to pay entirely out of pocket for medical insurance. As my Dad had insurance, through his deal from the buyout of Agere, due to them closing and his early retirement deal. Well they are getting rid of this option and it must entirely be paid out of pocket. Neither of my parents have insurance as an option at current jobs. My Dad is on like a pharmacy of medicines himself, so it could pricey pretty quick. Especially since they option they offered them is $1600 a month for two people and it is still pretty crappy insurance. They did find something better and for less money, but it is still pricey.

So if one of them could find a job with benefits, it would be very beneficial. My Dad will be eligible for Medicare in 2-3 years. But my Mom is not eligible for about 15 years.

Elin-that looks like a beautiful place. If I didn't have such strong ties to Colorado I think I would live near you all. :goodvibes

Our town is really lovely. All of you are invited to come and visit America's Most Historic City!

I'm glad work was better tonight. That's a nice turn of events for you.

Are you sure about Hunter's gift? Maybe Santa knows something that you don't. ;) Hope it is an easy fix! Enjoy your Breakfast tomorrow as well and I hope the big guy is on time.

Good luck to them finding something with insurance or a cheaper policy! That would be great if your mom could get something with the new center opening.

Stephanie - Sounds like things are off to a great start! Good luck with the 4 park challenge!! :goodvibes
I really enjoyed the surf & turf at Narcoosee's! We are definitely going to go back there in August!
I swear I don't understand how people say that the DDP saves them ALL this money. Having to pay the tips OOP negates most of the savings, and if the "savings" is based partly on food you didn't really want but ordered because it was part of the DDP then it really skews the numbers. If you have children under 10 then you do save money, but parties without kids don't save diddly squat!

Well, all but my daughter are asleep now so that's good. I guess I'll stop doing some figuring on whether we can sneak in a couple of days in Branson with my grandma's Christmas money. (The answer to which is, maybe, but when is the big question. We've got the season passes and lower gas prices make it feasible to get there. It's just the hotel and a little food we'd need.)

And now it's time to go find some pajamas, hunt down my cozy blanket that somebody has hid somewhere and curl up in my chair to sleep. Have a good night everyone.

Yes, they have built-in cameras. If they hadn't, mom was going to buy them for them as well. Mom bought one for her, my sister, my brother, Chuck & I. The only issue is that mom doesn't have high speed internet at home. However, she spends quite a bit of time at my sisters and it will work well there. It will be wonderful to "see" my nephew in Japan when he says hello. He sounds so cute when he says Hi Aunt Vicki. He is two now.

That is so cool, Vicki! What a great present!

Good evening.

For those of you not on face book, here are some of our photos from today

...

So cute! :goodvibes

The only way i would stand in a line for 75 minutes was if I thought it was going to be MUCH shorter when I got IN the line. Like the day we waited 45 minutes for pics in Toontown. The posted wait time was 20 minutes.

I totally agree... and then I would be totally grumpy to boot! :rotfl:

:goodvibes Well, we had a really nice day. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks for checking in, although you're making me jealous! ;) Have a wonderful day today!

morning everyone-- i have NO idea why im up so early but i cant fall back asleep so here i am--ugh

I'm with you, Jen... not that the girls would have let me sleep much longer, but for once I was actually planning on doing so. Go figure!

I'm off to help St. Nick fill some stockings in Mason, then it's Cookie Day! :yay: Have a great one! :goodvibes

Good morning...

Today is going to be a long day. I am going to training this morning and then will leave from there and head directly to the memorial service for our friend. Eric and Emma will meet me there along with the 3 other moms from preschool and one of Emma's friends.

Emma has her Sunday School Christmas play tonight. My inlaws have Mo and will bring her to the play tonight. My mom has Lucy and will bring her. Eric has his final exam tonight from 7-10pm. I imagine by the time we get home tonight we will fall into bed, exhausted and emotionally drained.

Tomorrow they are doing the play at both services and then my parents, sister, and niece & nephew are coming over for a small Thanksgiving dinner. We are hoping to get the tree up and decorated.

I love the weekends but man when they are jammed packed like this they go so fast. And of course, it feels like I've accomplished nothing.

Enjoy your day.

Robyn - I love the pictures you have posted, but especially the one in your signature.

Elizabeth - I am glad your Mom seemed to weather her treatment well.

Jennifer - have fun baking cookie!

Stephanie and Terry - I hope we get updates from your DAY in the parks!

Deb - I hope your computer problems are finally over.

Debbie - I hope your holidya season is going along OK... take it easy, please.

Becky - I am glad your Mom found some work that will help out. Now I am hoping one of your parents can get a job with some good benefits.

All three of us have hair appointments today at noon. We also need to get some cleaning done around the house and plan some modifications to our trip. I plan to get off here in a minute and cancel both the Segway Tour and the carriage ride we had planned and then I think I will put some decorations on my still-bare tree!

Enjoy your mornings, everyone! :grouphug:
