Confused about DDP using kids credits

I’m taking my 5-year old and decided to get the QS dining plan (for the first time since 2012) only because I’m just paying for myself (kids free in 2026). I’m so confused about how they differentiate between adult and child credits. For entrees, that’s easy enough but as far as beverages go, can I order speciality drinks with both of our meals? Many kids meals come with choice of water bottle or milk but if he wanted to order like POG juice for example can he? Not expecting to do anything other then break even but I want to make sure I get the most out of my credits. Thanks!
