Now for some :scared1: news.

Yesterday at 2:15 pm. a fire broke out at a local chocolate store, said store was connected to a chinese restaurant and a pizza parlor. I have a cousin that is a volunteer fire fighter and his company was called out. Well he and another guy went into the chinese restaurant to try and keep it from catching fire.
Well they were inside when the place exploded. My cousin was thrown into the air and landed on his back/side on the counter, then rolled off. He told his partner to grab hold of his boot they were going out the window. Both men were assessed and then sent home, both are sore but fine.

Wow, How scary. I'm glad that they are okay.

We've only been to Jiko once. We didn't love it, but I wouldn't mind trying it again. I am going to see what the reviews look like on the new restaurant at AKV (Sanaii, or something?). Maybe we will try that one at some point.

Heidi, that sounds very scary! I am glad your cousin is OK!

Thanks. It's going to be interesting.

Jen just sent me a text. She said her trip has been amazing and she will tell us about it tomorrow. :)

I am watching Elf. I like Polar Express. I will have to catch it next time!

DS just called my mom. She said she is still planning to spend tomorrow with him. I hope so!

I hope she makes it :wizard:

So I keep checking in, hoping to catch a glimpse of Timothy Locke. Hopefully someone will post one soon.

Hunter picked up the living room as he just had to put the tree up. Chris and I helped him put it together. We won't be decorating it tonight though. He is so excited about Christmas this year. From getting up at 3:30 to go shopping with me, to putting up the tree. He is even stashing some of the presents that we bought today in his room until I have time to wrap :goodvibes We watched Polar Express while we put up the tree. It was a nice holiday day for us. At one point this morning we were out shopping and it started spitting big white snowflakes. It brought a smile to our faces.

sounds like a fun and busy day at the Brooke house

I hope to get my tree up Sunday night. I need to go to the post office I have to find boxes for ornaments

The old Vermont farmers swear by Bag Balm for there hands. Apparently nothing is worse then farming on hands :confused3

Leave it to you to post this! It isn't just Vermont farmers. This is what we always used as well. My grandparents were all farmers. It is fantastic stuff.

There is a short video on facebook of Timothy. he is the cutest

I did not go out and do any shopping today.

I did go to my Grandparents today. They did not come for Thanksgiving yesterday because my Grandpa fell again on Thanksgiving morning.

I am watching School of Rock, although I also contemplated watching Polar Express. PE is one of my favorite books from when I was a kid.

I still have one tree to assemble then we need to decorate them both. I'm hoping that it is a bit warmer tomorrow as I want to put up some outside decorations.

Wouldn't it make sense that we use the same things, we are always in sync

I just checked Glynis' page, but there is nothing on hers and I just sent a friend request to Alan. I had never thought of adding him until yesterday

Becky I hope your grandpa is doing better and not in any pain from the fall.

Becky I love Jimini, but he is too big in your signature. The bottom of him is missing.

Just wanted to pop in for a minute here before I head to bed.

Glynis and Family- Congrats on the safe arrival of Timothy!!!

Heidi- Many prayers for your uncle. :wizard:

Can I ask for some prayers and pixie dust please? I just found out that one of Emma's friends from preschool dad committed suicide yesterday. Eric and him coached the girls soccer team one year. Please say a prayer for Emma's friend, her little sister and their mom. I cannot imagine the hell they are going through right now.

Robyn,,, Anytime someone we know committs suicide, the questions just keep coming and coming and you never get the answers you want. I hope the family has lots of support from other family members.

Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt.

I may not put up my village this year. It takes so long to do. It was up last year and I tend to do it every other year.

every year I say I'm only going to do a few pieces and end up doing it all.

But I think this year I might just skip it.

We got mostly clothes today. There wasn't anything amazing as far as sales of anything else that struck us. I got a new long winter coat. I'm not sure I really like it so I think it is going back. We went to Shopko, JCPenney, Kmart, lunch (all you can eat soup & salad at one of our favorite places), Walmart, Goodwill, Home Depot, the grocery store, and the book store all in 8 hours. It was Katrina, Becky, my mom and I. It was a nice time.
