today ended up being a very sad day.....a lifelong friend (and my current neighbor) died this morning. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and went in for surgery to remove the tumor. She was supposed to be in the hospital for 7 days...instead she never made it out.....I got the call as we were getting into the car and heading out for the day. The kids were all crying....just awful
Thanks. I just wanted a reality check to make sure I wasn't the crazy one!![]()

Finally caught up. I can't believe the weekend is over. Why can't Monday-Friday go this fast?
I got so much accomplished this weekend. I actually feel like I'm ahead of the curve. MOST of the kids' Christmas shopping is done. There are some Wii games that I want to get, but I can order them online, if I ever find them in stock.
I also got Nicholas' bedroom furniture ordered. He is so excited about it. I'm thinking it will probably get to the store here the week we are in Florida, so when we get home we can have it delivered.
Today was Bethany's birthday party, and the first time I met her mom. DM got all bent because I was taking charge too much. Um, excuse me, Bob planned everything (booked the bowling alley, sent invites, ordered cake, etc), and HE paid for it. SHE's the one that left her daughter and moved to Florida. At the party I wrote the gift list for Bob so he could take pictures while she opened her presents, lit the candles while he was taking pictures, and cut the cake while he did the ice cream. Oh and I said to Bethany that it might be nice to go around and thank everyone. DM just sat there, then took Bob aside and said she didn't like that I was parenting HER daughter. There was even another mom there helping out more than she did. If Beth's mom had helped plan the party, or offered to pay for half, yes, then I would have stepped back and let her run the show. But when Bob was doing all the work, I thought it was my place to help out. I can't believe that she didn't go around to the other moms of Bethany's friends and introduce herself, just to get to know Beth's friends. They were talking to me more than her. What do you all think?

So we are home from what ended up not being a quick trip....I needed new dryer balls....so we went into Linen's & Things for them.....never ever going back into L&T....too expensive even if they are going out of business.![]()
Then to JcPenney's with a short stopover at Steve & Berry's for the last stop before they go out completely.
Then our local fancy food store for steaks for supper tonight (really inexpensive)
and Barnes & Noble for a book for Abi....it is very, very hard to find an appropriate book for a kid who reads so above age level.
Right now we are eating our supper in real courses......about 4....feels like we are the hoity toity.![]()
Thanks to Sears & their family & friends sale I will soon have my dishwasherI didn't think I would be getting one till after the 1st of the year, but the price was to hard to resist. Regular price was $269, marked down to $199. Plus there was an additional 20% taken off during checkout & I found a code for another $5 off, so final total with tax $188
I chose store pick up, so no delivery charge either!
Early Merry Christmas to me![]()
Oh btw it is a black Kenmore, no bells or whistle's, but anything is better than me having to hand wash all the time.
