Robyn, great pictures! The party looks like it was a big success, even with an injury! Adorable announcement, too. I hope Lucy kicks her cold quickly!

Deb, thank goodness for your new guardian angel!

Janet, everyone has a breaking point.

Elin, wouldn't it be great if we could go to the concert together! I still need to post some pictures for you.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. :wave2:

Back to laundry. :laundy:

Well, the game sucked.

But the rum cake WOWOWOWOWOW :dance3: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi, everyone. Sorry to be absent so much, but life is busy right now (as usual I'm learning with working FT again). I'm headed to work in an hour for my 3 shifts. Then next weekend we head to B'ham for an early Thanksgiving. John's paternal grandmother (the one he doesn't know so he's not upset at all- he's met her once) died Friday night. He's going to B'ham tomorrow for the funeral to support his dad. We got a sitter to come at 6pm until he gets home since I'm working.

Kids started basketball practice yesterday and loved it. This year they have an all girls team for BK which is great. We decorated the entire inside of the house yesterday, except for the main tree. I think we're doing it on Thursday. Wed we're going to the mall to see Santa and out to dinner. I work next week for Thanksgiving, and my parents, brother, fiancee and kids are all coming. John is going to decorate the outside of the house on the 3 days before Thanksgiving (yes, it takes that long). Then I work the next Mon, Tues, Wed after Thanksgiving and we leave on Sat. The kids are missing the 1st 2 basketball games for the trip. Had I known, I might have changed dates, but it is too late now. We will tell them the morning we leave. I think their Elves from Santa will give them the good news.

And Bama is still undefeated and #1!

Have a good night!

Thanks for the PM, Chanon.

I think I'm going to suggest this fundraiser to my MOPS group. Does anyone want to help me brainstorm "pound" items? :)

My aunt posted a really cool YouTube video that I want to share with all of you.

CHALLENGER: THE STORY OF AN AMERICAN EAGLE

Click on the video link and at the bottom of the picture make sure
you get full screen and full sound. It is quite a performance and story.

(Read this text first before you open the link to the video)

This is an awesome music video featuring a special
free-flying Bald Eagle named 'Challenger' (in honor
of the lost space shuttle crew) cared for by the non-
profit American Eagle Foundation (AEF).

He's a 'human socialized' bird accidentally raised by
the people who rescued him - after being blown from
a wild Louisiana nest in a storm as a baby in the late
1980's. Declared 'non-releasable' by federal and state
wildlife authorities, he was trained by the AEF to perform
educational free-flight demonstrations at high profile
public events.

He's the first Bald Eagle in U.S. history that learned to
free-fly into stadiums, arenas and ballrooms during the
singing of the Star Spangled Banner. The celebrity eagle
has appeared at numerous major sporting events like the
World Series, Pro-Bowl, All-Star game, BCS National
Championship, Fiesta Bowl and Men's Final Four, etc.
Challenger has also flown before 4 U.S. Presidents!

His life story is told in a children's storybook titled
'Challenger, America 's Favorite Eagle.'

I know I've posted this before, but I want to reiterate for the holiday season...

Teachers do not expect gifts! Nice cards with short notes meant the world to me.

I am off to drop Emma off at the nursing home, they are having a bingo fundraiser and my mom wanted Emma and Alyssa there.

Then I need to take Lucy to the urgent care clinic, she has been coughing for a while but does when she is cutting teeth. This morning she woke up wheezing.

Then it's dinner at the in-laws. We haven't been over there in ages so I have no idea why they called to invite us over.

I hope Lucy feels better soon!
DS is still hacking, but his stomach isn't hurting today. Maybe that mega-dose at the beginning of the Z-pack was just too strong for him.
The announcement is great! :thumbsup2
Hmm. Hope the in-laws don't have any surprises for you.

I got home about noon. I helped DS with his election notebook for a bit, then I took a nap. DH took DS to the lake and they are still gone. They better come back soon because DS still has a ton of work to do. The notebook is due Friday, so he still has a little time but he hasn't finished the math, either, and that's due in the morning. :headache:

Well, our district is crummy so I feel bad for DS's teachers! I guess since none of his teachers will change at the semester mark I can always do gift cards at the end of the year.

Thoughts, critiques please.

Love it, Robyn!

JcPenney's is also having their VIP sale...if anybody is going to one tonight give me a holler and I'll forward the email. I am hoping for a good deal for Abi as she is down to 4 okay pair of pants which is going to quickly dwindle down to 2 as she's grown a little more!!

We didn't go to the Sears one tonight since I was there yesterday and didn't see anything that struck my fancy.

We did go to JCP and found a lot of trashy looking things! Kristin walked out with two tops that she felt she could wear to work and I found nothing for me. :confused3

We did better at Macy*s with all my coupons! I think she has enough clothes for work now! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Thanks for the reminder on the store savings tonight! I think I might head out shopping!

The pound auction was so much fun! Bob is the proud owner of 25 popcorn balls, and a 6 count of Dial soap. I bid on a package wrapped in red with a big O on it (OSU style) and got three 12 count boxes of Harry London Buckeyes. Well worth $35 for our church youth to go to New Orleans. Everyone present also got to take home a doggy bag of spagetti or rigatoni - there was that much left over!

Yum yum yum yum yum! I need to get the ingredients to make them for Christmas. I think we used up all we had last November!

Elin, wouldn't it be great if we could go to the concert together! I still need to post some pictures for you.

I thought of you three times today, Amy! The "Holly" channel on Sirius-XM played three Harry Connick, Jr. Christmas pieces while I was out and about today! I know you will post pictures when you get a chance. :goodvibes

I will second this statement. Often the things that I keep and cherish the most are the cards and notes.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I'm just now catching up.

Eric and I are just about not talking :headache: He can't seem to understand that my brain function is very limited with the little sleep I've had. He is ticked that the Girl Scout crap is taking up a ton of time but it is what it is.
I hope you've resolved this.

Kristi's doctor appt on Thurs went as expected. She's having a CT scan tomorrow to assess the extent of the problem this time and is scheduled for surgery on Dec 5. The plan right now is to fill the space with bone cement, but they may also transplant large pieces of bone as well. They talked about doing the transplant part later, but I think she's up for anything that would spare her the possibility of a 5th surgery in 5 years.
Good thoughts for her.

That's one heckuva a party you threw, Miss Robyn!
In my earlier life, I was at a party with lots of adult beverages and there was an instance where someone put their behind through the wall. The drywall actually caved in and left a butt print. I always say....."it's not a party until something gets broken." ;)

Since then I have matured a bit :upsidedow
I think that sounds quite regal! You may all now call me Your Majesty. :rotfl2:
Sorry I missed you yesterday, Your Majesty. :worship:

One last post before I head upstairs to bed.
Just precious. :goodvibes

Beautiful pictures, Robyn!!! The shirt is very appropo, he is quite handsome!
Thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't figure out what was on the shirt.

I had a "wish I could forget" incident at work today. I was in the office & an employee came to look at his schedule(he always has some comment to say & I normally let it roll off my back). Today he said the wrong thing & it just tripped my trigger & I went off on him. I was so loud the employees up front as well as the customers heard. I do not feel bad for what I said to the employee, but I do feel bad that everyone else heard me. I should have handle myself better. All I know is that I snapped & I should not have let that happen. If I would have been that employee, I would have walked out.

Today was not one of my most gracious days.
Don't beat yourself up over it Janet. We've all had moments like that.

Tomorrow is a new day. Maybe the jerk won't complain so much from now on...:rolleyes1

After I got home from work tonight I received a call from Target for an interview. I am just looking for something part time & I doubt anything will become of it beings my hours of availability are so limited.

Anyway my question is should I tell about my trip coming up in a couple of weeks during the interview or wait to see if they hire me? I am not sure what is the proper way to handle this.

If they offer you the job, tell them you've had the trip planned. I don't think it's necessary at the first interview.

Wow, what a day. I don't even know where to start :confused3 We left here at 1 PM for the concert. Traffic was horrible and we got to the concert parking with 5 minutes to spare. While walking in I looked down and saw an object on the ground. It looked like a clear bouncy ball with something in it. I picked it up and it was a clear oval shaped ball with an angel in it :confused3 Very strange considering where it was, but I stuck it in my purse and moved on. The concert was pretty crappy. It was in a metal building with very very poor acustics. You couldn't make out a single word. The concert was Rick Derringer (Hang on Sloopy) and the Lovin' Spoonfull's (What a day of a daydream and Nashville Cats). Oh well, it was for a good cause and it was something different. We left the concert a bit early and headed to the mall. We ate and did a bit of shopping though not much. Then we headed to Christmas tree shop. We found some cute things for teacher's gifts and I even gave Elin a call as we found little animal ornaments (Elin I do have a package slip for the post office). We hit a couple more stores then headed home. We picked up my car at Chris' work around 11 PM. I waited at an intersection for the green light, then proceeded. A truck came out of nowhere and nearly hit me broadside. I think he may have stopped 2 feet from me. Of course he laid on the horn. Chris and the kids were behind me and saw the whole thing. The guy in the pickup truck ran the red light and Chris said that he had to be going at least 40 MPH before he finally hit the brakes. He had run the red light, not me. Needless to say we were all shaken up. Now I'm wondering if that object I found was from a guardian angel? :confused3 or just a coincidence. I suppose I will never actually know, but it is small enough that it will stay in my purse from now on. It can't hurt can it. So when you all say your prayers tonight be sure to give God a great big thank you from me and my family

Oh my! I agree -- it can't hurt. I'm glad you are okay.

I love it! Good job!

I best get off and figure out what's for dinner. Maybe more PF Chang's. (And it was good, Elizabeth!)
