DDA Chapter 14

Wow, what a day. I don't even know where to start :confused3 We left here at 1 PM for the concert. Traffic was horrible and we got to the concert parking with 5 minutes to spare. While walking in I looked down and saw an object on the ground. It looked like a clear bouncy ball with something in it. I picked it up and it was a clear oval shaped ball with an angel in it :confused3 Very strange considering where it was, but I stuck it in my purse and moved on. The concert was pretty crappy. It was in a metal building with very very poor acustics. You couldn't make out a single word. The concert was Rick Derringer (Hang on Sloopy) and the Lovin' Spoonfull's (What a day of a daydream and Nashville Cats). Oh well, it was for a good cause and it was something different. We left the concert a bit early and headed to the mall. We ate and did a bit of shopping though not much. Then we headed to Christmas tree shop. We found some cute things for teacher's gifts and I even gave Elin a call as we found little animal ornaments (Elin I do have a package slip for the post office). We hit a couple more stores then headed home. We picked up my car at Chris' work around 11 PM. I waited at an intersection for the green light, then proceeded. A truck came out of nowhere and nearly hit me broadside. I think he may have stopped 2 feet from me. Of course he laid on the horn. Chris and the kids were behind me and saw the whole thing. The guy in the pickup truck ran the red light and Chris said that he had to be going at least 40 MPH before he finally hit the brakes. He had run the red light, not me. Needless to say we were all shaken up. Now I'm wondering if that object I found was from a guardian angel? :confused3 or just a coincidence. I suppose I will never actually know, but it is small enough that it will stay in my purse from now on. It can't hurt can it. So when you all say your prayers tonight be sure to give God a great big thank you from me and my family
Sounds like someone was watching over you, and I am thankful for that.

That's right, rub it in, Marci. :rolleyes1

We had pizza for lunch and I think the acidity has seared the last few inches of my esophogus off. :scared: DH is making pork chops for dinner.

DS has most of his notebook done, except his essay. He also can't find a thing they did in class that is supposed to be in the notebook, so knock points off for that.

Happy birthday, Vicki!!!!

Finally caught up. I can't believe the weekend is over. :( Why can't Monday-Friday go this fast?

I got so much accomplished this weekend. I actually feel like I'm ahead of the curve. MOST of the kids' Christmas shopping is done. There are some Wii games that I want to get, but I can order them online, if I ever find them in stock.

I also got Nicholas' bedroom furniture ordered. He is so excited about it. I'm thinking it will probably get to the store here the week we are in Florida, so when we get home we can have it delivered.

Today was Bethany's birthday party, and the first time I met her mom. DM got all bent because I was taking charge too much. Um, excuse me, Bob planned everything (booked the bowling alley, sent invites, ordered cake, etc), and HE paid for it. SHE's the one that left her daughter and moved to Florida. At the party I wrote the gift list for Bob so he could take pictures while she opened her presents, lit the candles while he was taking pictures, and cut the cake while he did the ice cream. Oh and I said to Bethany that it might be nice to go around and thank everyone. DM just sat there, then took Bob aside and said she didn't like that I was parenting HER daughter. There was even another mom there helping out more than she did. If Beth's mom had helped plan the party, or offered to pay for half, yes, then I would have stepped back and let her run the show. But when Bob was doing all the work, I thought it was my place to help out. I can't believe that she didn't go around to the other moms of Bethany's friends and introduce herself, just to get to know Beth's friends. They were talking to me more than her. What do you all think?

Tammi she is jealous because she sees you are a better mom to her daughter then she is.

Tonight Comedy Central 9:00 pm EST Jeff Dunham's Christmas Special.

slippery slope Tammi....I think that's just the reality of the dynamics...I am sure in the deepest recesses of her whack job brain...she must feel guilty about leaving her daughter....and I am sure she is jealous of your involvement. But instead of dealing with those feelings...it is easier to complain and be critical....hang in there!!

I totally agree.

today ended up being a very sad day.....a lifelong friend (and my current neighbor) died this morning. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and went in for surgery to remove the tumor. She was supposed to be in the hospital for 7 days...instead she never made it out.....I got the call as we were getting into the car and heading out for the day. The kids were all crying....just awful

:thumbsup2 EXACTLY! Plus she realizes all she is missing.... her loss!
Thanks. I just wanted a reality check to make sure I wasn't the crazy one!

I'm very sorry to hear this, Kristine. :grouphug: :grouphug:

We didn't go to the Sears one tonight since I was there yesterday and didn't see anything that struck my fancy.

We did go to JCP and found a lot of trashy looking things! Kristin walked out with two tops that she felt she could wear to work and I found nothing for me. :confused3

We did better at Macy*s with all my coupons! I think she has enough clothes for work now! :thumbsup2

We got Abi 3 pairs of pants, 3 shirts (I think...might be more), 1 sweater and Cassidy 2 sweater vest tunics.....for just over $70. So I think we did okay.
