Elin - I have no clue what prompted them to send this now. :confused3 Then again, for all I know they have been sending statements for the past 5 years. She said she saw the account was flagged for bad address, but she could not explain why they turned around and sent ANOTHER statement to the wrong address after they KNEW it was wrong. :confused3 Medical billing and insurance is the biggest mess. :sad2:

Theresa - Hope your day improves.

Vicki - I am glad the arrangements are in place for the funeral.

I saw that and wondered if she really liked the job and didn't realize how bad things are for you there.

she really does like her job and she doesn't realize how bad it is here. I, of course, can't get Facebook to work here at work again. :headache:

She is very, very nice and has nothing to do with my troubles and I don't want to have to explain it to her...don't want to burst her bubble.

Well, we got a check from our doctor's office in the spring for $10. It was for overpayment of a bill in ...
August 2002.

Why in the heck are the looking at stuff from way back then now? If they stopped looking at that stuff they might have time to see patients!

I'm wondering if there is some type of new legislation that they can get in trouble for hanging on to your money for so long. To have both you & Elizabeth have them finding credits after so long, it sounds kind of fishy to me. They should have sent you the refunds long before this. I worked in Accounts Receivable for many years and we knew who we owed money to. Unless they are just computerizing? I know that companies that have manual A/R found all kinds of stuff when they finally computerized.

That is very nice of you not to burst her bubble! She'll learn soon enough on her own.

Vicki - my thoughts and prayers are with you and Chuck as you go through this very difficult time.

Elizabeth - I'm glad you got the bill all figured out, but that is VERY strange.

I was talking to my mom last night and she said my dad was going to go to Disney hiring while we are down there. He's interested in driving a bus. I doubt that he will, but it would be kinda cool. Then she went on to talk about how they could be snowbirds, and that she could walk around the parks handing out buttons. I had no idea what she was talking about until she gave me more info. We were catching with a very nice elderly Dream Teamer once and she gave us all Honorary Citizen buttons. Could you imagine my mom being on the DT!? I hated to burst her bubble but I doubt you just waltz right into those positions. She needs to start out sweeping up trash or something first!

When we took the VIP tour with Raymond (who is an older gentlemen) he was talking about the hiring process. After he was done with me, I was so confused....it sounded quite convoluted at best. And from what he says, you are right, you start at the bottom of the barrel. One gal that we befriended a few years ago is an assistant manager at the Contemporary....she started off at stroller rental at MK....can you just imagine? I don't think I have enough life left to work my way up.

Ok, ok, so I didn't bundle up on the couch, instead I baked a crumb cake. :teeth:

Apple Pear Crumb Cake

1 apple, cored, diced
1 pear, cored, diced
2 Tbs. + 2/3 cup granulated sugar
3 tsp. cinnamon
1 pkg. (18.5 oz) butter yellow cake mix
4 eggs
2/3 cup sour cream
2/3 cup milk
3 cups flour
2/3 cup pcked brown sugar
1 cup butter, melted
Confectioners' sugar (optional)

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line 13x9" baking pan with foil, leaving 2" overhang; coat with cooking spray.
Combine fruit, 2 Tbs. granulated sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. On medium-high speed, beat cake mix, eggs, sour cream and milk until fluffy, 2-3 minutes. Transfer to pan; sprinkle with fruit. Bake 30 minutes.

Combine flour, brown sugar, reaming 2/3 cup granulated sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Stir in butter until large crumbs form; sprinkle over cake. Bake 25 minutes or until pick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool on rack 20 minutes. Using foil, lift cake from pan. If desired sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

I want your weather (stomps feet). It got below freezing, it was 30º when I posted this morning. :cold:

It's 62 out now, going up to 83, but we are supposed to get another front that will cool us off to highs in the high 60s/low 70s.

That sounds really good. Why don't you come on up here and make one for me?

I saw that this morning and thought what a whack job she is, doesn't she know the crap Theresa goes through?

I've so got to remember to watch what I put on my facebook page as to what I am doing. One of the other employees is a friend there and she's a happy camper here and doesn't realize half the crap I go through here...so she Little Miss Mary Sunshined my grump about going to work today.

Like I would have known if they kept my money? If they had told me to pay the $30 I would have done it because it is NOT worth going to collections over $30! How on earth would I know if I really owed $30 after 5 years? And this refund we are getting probably isn't really ours anyway. It kind of looks like money that should have gone back to the insurance company. :confused3

Well, there won't BE a Dream Team after December, so that's not an option. And CMs weren't allowed to stay on the Dream Team - they had to rotate off. One guy we met on the Dream Team is now Guest Relations at Epcot, and a girl at MGM was working the queue at Toy Story Mania. Our tour guide for Mickey's Magical Milestones said you have to have a minimum of 3 years before you can work in Guest Relations, and I imagine that applies to tour guides as well. I think the college kids go in with the chance to be assigned to Entertainment, Merchandise, Food Service (CS or carts, obviously), Attractions, Parking Lot or Sanitation. If you aren't going in on the college program I don't know if you can request where you go. Not sure how they go about finding bus drivers, boat drivers, etc. Our August trip was the first time we EVER saw college kids driving the boats. Most of those guys look to be about 70 years old. Our BASS fishing guide was very sweet, but she made it clear that working for WDW is NOT fun like visiting WDW. part of that would be perspective, though. She was younger than I am. The retirees who can take it as a part time way to fill their days are probably quite happy.

I am in capris and a polo shirt today and I am fine. I brought my jacket with me today but I haven't had it on. I did stick a little sweater on Princess but she probably didn't really need it.

Maybe I should join Facebook.

I snuck a small piece while it was still warm, quite yummy.
I'd love to come up, but I think John would yell as he couldn't come along. He has no vacation time as we went to Disney in Jan.

That sounds really good. Why don't you come on up here and make one for me?

I have been trying to choose a room category for Great Wolf Lodge. There are some big discrepancies between the main Great Wolf Lodge site and the dedicated one for the lodge near us. There is one room that may or may NOT have 2 bathrooms, and may have seating for 6 OR maybe only seating for 4. I called and the girl confirmed it only has one bathroom. If I had booked that room based on the info on their website and then got there and discovered it only had one bathroom I would be IRATE. The rep I spoke to said she would let their IT people know it is wrong.

So we really only have 2 choices if we want more than one toilet.

She encouraged me to book now and then add a code if one comes out, but I am thinking I will wait just a bit longer. I don't really want to shell out $400 today and let them just sit on my money for 3 months, especially when they charge a $25 cancellation fee. The resort isn't going to sell out. If it does we will switch weekends.

The windshields on our cars were frozen solid this morning. Of course, neither of us had scrapers in our new cars...
