DDA Chapter 11

Loved all the first day of school pictures, and the football ones too. All the kids looked great!

We are officially in panic mode her on the coast, the latest projected path of Gustav has it pretty much following the same path as Katrina and making landfall Monday evening or Tuesday morning. They predict it will strenghten to a cat. 3 by the time it makes landfall.

People are out stocking up on supplies and gasing up their cars, I'm just sick to my stomach. I know it's the chance you take when you live where I do, but this one has all the heartache from Katrina flooding back.

I also get angry when I watch the news and they talk about what a tragedy Katrina was to New Orleans. Not that what happened in New Orleans wasn't horrible, but the storm actually hit Mississippi and destroyed the coast. Hundreds of people were killed and thousands of homes were completely destroyed. New Orleans flooded because the levies broke after the storm.

As soon as we could get away after the storm we spent the weekend in Panama City Beach, the girl at the desk asked me if the storm affected Mississippi much. :confused3

Sorry about the rant . . . .
You all are in my prayers. :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: I'm sure you are a nervous wreck.

If it looks really ominous will you all leave?

No, we had a really bad in experience in 1985 when Elena hit, we couldn't get back to our home to see of we had one left or not after leaving. I just can't do it again, ours is a place that others come to to ride out the storm.

I found Abi's mp3 player in the washing machine this morning...we have no clue how it got in there(really...it wasn't her clothes)..she could use pixie dust that it will work!!
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Glynis - the kids look great. And you can definitely tell who the tomboy is. ;)

Ain't that the truth? It was an interesting experience shopping for clothes with her and then with Leslie. Mary wanted anything that looked boyish, and Leslie just wanted pink and hearts!

Well, I'm off to clean the kitchen and then head to bed. See y'all in the morning. Prayers are going out to all who are in Gustav's path!

I love all of the pictures of the kiddies going back to school. Brings back lots of good memories.

Jen---keep good thoughts. I am rooting for you.

Debbie I cannot begin to say how much I have been thinking of you during this season. hurricanes are scary and having been thru a few close up, they are very unnerving. I remember seeing a water spout when I lived in Key West and it got really close. That was very scary

Elizabeth---you still should advise the DR of the symptons you had with that headache.

for everyone else :goodvibes :goodvibes :cheer2: :cheer2: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :thumbsup2 :woohoo:  :headache:   :dance3: :dance3: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I forgot to say....LOVE all of the back to school pics...we did not do them:scared:

Debbie- :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that Gustav is the latest to bow down to the powers of the DDA

I got a picture of me & my baby today. It isn't her first day of school but it is the 1st day at Ferris. :lovestruc

They look so big and soon you'll have a tiny one. Life will surely be different in your house

Are you able to board the house up or protect it in any other way?

Guess what guys??!?!?!?!?

Work was not good tonight. My first party stiffed me (at least they did pay the bill) and my second party left me $3. It really didn't get much better from there. I can only hope that I had all the bad customers tonight and that the rest of the week will improve :sad2:
