DDA Chapter 10

Thanks for the info on the tickers..I really liked the ones with the days rather than months etc...oh well..
Here are my new ones.

I dug out the sewing machine and altered some jeans for the boys. Nick needed some shortened and then there is Hunter. I had to make new seams down the legs of 3 pairs of jeans. This allowed me to make "slims" much slimmer. That child has no waist and his leg are just sticks. Anyhoo they both have 3 pairs of jeans to start school with. Best of all I bought them at JcPenneys for $1.97 a pair. So for $12 and 2 spools of thread I got some back to school shopping done. I just happened to walk into JcPenneys when they had just marked the boys jeans down. I really lucked out. I still have another pair to alter for Hunter, I found them hanging in his closet from last year and he hadn't grown into them yet. Now I need to get a few pairs of pants for Colby and the kids will be good to go:thumbsup2

Marci I hope you have a wonderful day!

I love this one, so I'm borrowing it!

Happy Birthday, Marci!!!!!

I need to get dinner made. DB wants us to go to a seminar tonight on the new outdoor furnace. Mom is coming to watch the boys. I suppose that I should want to learn about the new furnace, but I really don't. Can't the guys handle it? :lmao: Should it matter that I am the one home to take care of it during the day ;)

Hello, DDA! We are home! We had a fantastic, wonderful, words-can't-describe-it FAMILY trip! Now I have a ton of unpacking, laundry, grocery shopping, etc. to get done. :laundy:

And...I leave in less than 12 days for DISNEY! :scared1: :woohoo: :scared1: There is no way I'll ever be ready. I am planning a trip to see my parents for a few days next week for my father's birthday.

I look forward to catching up with you, but that is going to need to wait for a day or so. :guilty:

Welcome home, Beth! Glad you had a great time!

Can't wait to hear all about your trip!

she might not want Eric to go with her this week....

Now there's an idea! A nice dinner out, alone, with a good book for company! Ideal!!!! Where can I sign up????

Dawn and I are going to see Mama Mia tomorrow, can't wait.

From Delta's website:

ETA: Updated info regarding baggage fees. Looks like changes are coming again - meaning higher fees.
http://www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/baggage_allowance/excess_baggage/index.jsp

Makes me very glad we don't fly that much! Those fees are crazy.

Oh, honey! I feel your pain!!! I know that our "menfolk" work hard, but sometimes they don't understand that we do, too. And our work never ends. We never get to punch out, and leave work at work. It drives me crazy that Alan isolates himself with his computer and I have to parent 24/7.
 for you! I think you deserve a night out to dinner! No children allowed!!!

I know you all understand that's why it so great to come on here and complain.

Ya think!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: He is really skating on thin ice, he wants turtle time and quite frankly he may never get it again if he doesn't back off ;)

It took almost all day long, but we just got home with Bob's new car. He is happier than a penguin in an ice flow! And I have NO idea where that came from. :rotfl2:

OMG, those 2 little penguins have me in stitches. :rotfl2:

Is he feeling any better today?

See I knew I forgot things. I'm glad he is feeling a bit better, hopefully work hasn't worn him out.

Gotta love those clearance steals. :thumbsup2

Sounds so interesting! Have fun. ;)

Definitely no DH's!

I was thinking of sneaking out to go to the movies alone but I'm afraid I'd fall asleep in the theater.

I spent yesterday at our local amusement park with Alan and the kids. It was his company's summer family party. I was a little leary about going. I was worried about being in the 100 degree heat with little shade, but I did really well. I kept hydrated, and stayed in the shade. I was able to ride 2 of the rides, and then I spent the rest of the day watching the family have fun. It was actually a really nice day. The kids had a great time, and Alan was able to win stuffed animals for all the kids. We managed to get home before midnight, but I'm having a hard time recuperating today. I'm bone tired. Guess I should try to have a nap before dinner and a movie tonight.

I can't wait to hear what you think of Mamma Mia! and Cassidy said Dark Knight was very good but after all the "boy" movies (Speed Racer, Iron Man, Indiana Jones and Dark Knight) she was past ready for a girly movie!!

Since things are a little slow, would anyone mind if I posted some pictures my sister sent me? She's trying to start a cake decorating business, and these are some cakes she's done. They are mostly wedding cakes, but she does some cute birthday cakes. I have to post the Winnie the Pooh one.

Glynis - Those cakes are beautiful!!! I love the Pooh cake and the blue one. That berry cake looks amazing. I hope she has great luck getting her business started. I'd certainly recommend her.

My latest project for Emma:

It's reversable but I don't think Emma will be wearing the side with the flowers.

I think she's really talented! Not only do her cakes look good, but they taste really good, too! She make them all from scratch, and has quite a list of flavors for the cakes, fillings, and frostings!
