DCL Summer 2017 Megathread - Itineraries are out!

15-Night Eastbound Transatlantic from Port Canaveral 5/13/17
Port Canaveral • At Sea • At Sea • At Sea • At Sea • At Sea • At Sea • Ponta Delgada, Portugal • At Sea • At Sea • Portland, England • Dover • Amsterdam • At Sea • Copenhagen

Most previous EBTAs had a few stops prior to getting to Europe - NYC, Boston, Halifax, etc. This goes straight there. I love sea days, but so many right away? I guess it is more ports in Europe than the usual EBTA.
In the past, the TA itineraries have been more like this one. This stops in Ponta Delgada in the Azores - in the middle of the Atlantic. There are 2 more sea days after that before it arrives at Portland, England. The May 2015 TA was the first to have a pretty good itinerary, in my opinion: NYC; St. John's, NL; Reykjavik, Iceland; Oslo, Norway; and Copenhagen. Yes, the itinerary was changed at the last minute due to icebergs in Newfoundland - but still a good itinerary.

i never got an email from disney cruise line, only the info i found her and other places and we are platinum. Does anyone know what time they will open for reservations, going to go back to alaska next year!

I believe the phones will open for Gold/Platinum booking at 8:00am (eastern) tomorrow, but I'm not positive; it could be 9am.

Enjoy your cruise!

I wish they would show us all the prices before we could book...UGH I hate that they make us all nuts with that. Would be nice to figure all that out when we are not looking frantically to get what we want...lol

Me too. Then I could avoid calling. My curiosity always gets best of me. Ive never booked a summer cruise. Prices are too high. Today they released more discounts for europe this summer. We can hope they price next year better.

I just called my travel agent to see if they could take down my information tonight and go ahead and make the reservations for me tomorrow. No dice. I have to call at 8am tomorrow when they open, probably wait on hold for a while, and then tell them what I want to book. I'm just hoping they don't make me wait on hold with them while they call Disney. Isn't that why we use a TA? To make all the arrangements for us in the background?

I agree - plus it would significantly cut down on the amount of time on hold when you call due to less call volume. They could just have you log in with your Castaway Club number (or know if you are Gold/Platinum on your regular DisneyCruise ID) and have the info online.

well i just bite the bullet and sent in a quote for DU!!! Ive never booked so very early like this I know I will need to wait for Thur but Im ready

this will be a celebration since Ill be at the end of my 5 yrs of cancer follow ups so were celebrating big time

cant wait--let the countdown begin anyone else going on the medeterrian for next yr

if any of you are able to book tomorrow or at least get prices could you let me know if you get a quote for 9-9-17 in a 5B for 2 adults would really appreciate it thanks so much

That's the one we're hoping for too. My heart was set on the British Isles cruise this year but for 2 adults, 2 children in an 11B it was $10,800. No way. Hoping the 10 night Baltic is more reasonable.
It would have to a really great price for me to book it. The GT rates this Summer on the long cruises have been about 3k less than opening day. At least if they're overpriced you know you can wait until Feb/March to book because they won't sell again.

This one is similar to the 2010 EBTA. That one did stop at Castaway but then went right across to Madeira, which is a similar stop to Ponta Delgada. From there it was on to port stops in Spain and Gibraltar, terminating in Barcelona.
I just don't think I could handle losing an hour everyday. I always wonder how people adjust to that. I would hope they have good night time entertainment because I think by the 4th night I would be up to 3am. I would love to do the WBTA though.

Sounds like you need a new travel agent.

That's what I'm worried about. If I book so early and a discount comes out or the prices drop would they adjust the price if I call? Or am I just stuck with the price I reserved when I put my deposit down?

We were on the EBTA in 2015 that was supposed to stop in St John's Newfoundland and then in Iceland. 2 days before we sailed we were notified that there was too much ice (irony of ironies) and we'd be going to Halifax and then have 6 sea days in a row. 6 Sea Days in a row might be alright IF they spread out the activities through the day, instead most things were happening or overlapping in the mid morning and not much at all in the afternoon. Way Way boring....

I did the EBTA in 2013. Started in Galveston, TX with stops at CC, Funchal, Gibraltar, and then Barcelona. I loved our sea days and never once felt bored. But losing all those hours was TOUGH. And I still had a couple of days in Paris at the end. Whew.

I'd still do it again though. and I'd love to do the WBTA too. Maybe 2017...
