DCL Disney Magic At Sea UK Residents Only Sailing Summer 2021 General Information

Thanks for the info !!

I think the biggest elephant in the room will be what testing is required.

Is it "just" the lateral flow test on the day, or is it LFT and a paid PCR test beforehand

In some ways, i'll bet that even DCL cant answer this yet as it will be led by government guidelines .

Personally, hoping it is just the need for a LFT on the day

I think DCL are all in a heap, remember they are an American company and up till now have been up to speed on American CDC guidelines, now they have to have a crash course in the UK and European guidelines. And with new regulations starting this week in The UK, they have to figure out what they all that will mean for the summer sailings.
Sorry - another random one.

Onboard / ship credit.

Do DCL offer this if you book direct with them, or is it a Travel agency only thing ?

What is the expectation on the UK cruises for value...

DCL don't do onboard ship credit, its a travel agency thing. However UK High Street Travel Agents don't do it, only American Disney Specialist Travel Agents like Dreams Unlimited Travel give it. The onboard ship credit comes from the commission travel agents get from Disney as a reward for selling the cruises. Dreams Unlimited pass some of this commission to the passengers who book with them, as they can afford to as they sell so much Disney holidays. UK High Street Travel Agents don't sell enough Disney cruises to be able to afford to give some of their commission away.

Thank you !!

So, as a UK DVC member who can pre-book from Friday, is it worth speaking to (for example) Dreams Unlimited here to book and get the credit ?

and is there a UK phone number :)

Defiantly contact Dreams Unlimited Elaine@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com or send her a PM on here
@DreamsElaine she would be the best one to answer your questions

Dreams Unlimited are email based only

Yes, very interesting times ahead. I wonder how interaction with the characters will be. That was one of the big benefits of DCL.
If nightclubs etc will be open (on land) in the UK from late June, surely the need for social distancing wont be the same on board?

I hope they dont cheapen the experience for the UK market, as typically UK/European-ers would be less picky etc than US cruisers on Disney.
I would caution that Disney may well choose to be more strict on covid protocol than local government, so what is allowed on land by the UK authorities may not be allowed on ship. For example, Florida does not require masks and very few people in Florida wear them but Disney does require them on Disney World property and is very strict about it.

Anyone know why all the dates have now disappeared from the DCL website? Are they changing?

Thank you. I really want to try for 23rd August Southampton for 4 nights so if that goes I’ll not be left with much time to rearrange as it’s close(ish) to me and in school holidays and I really wanted the 4 nights not less. I’m platinum so can book Wednesday.

best of luck and hopefully your dates will be fine. If you do book on platinum day it would be great if you could update us, to give people an idea of prices :)

Yes please let us know about prices if you book on platinum day. We are hoping to book the 4 night from Liverpool but not til Gold day

I’ll definitely update with what I’m actually trying to book for sure.
I might use Dreams too but my agent is a bit MIA so she isn’t answering my emails much right now, so I might just do it myself when the phone lines open.
If the dates return and that cruise is missing I might not book at all as I’m restricted so much.

I’m hoping the dates will return as they were.
All the East Coast were first. Then West Coast then the south coast so makes sense

Yes so am I . The date chosen fitted perfectly for us. I could switch to the 13th instead of 23rd but we already have commitments from the 7th to the 13th so that doesn’t give us enough time to get our PCR tests and get the results if they are needed.

Make sure you also update Scott Sanders (DCLBlog) as he maintains a database of prices during the pre-release phase.
Who is he and where do I find this? I’ll try but it might not be straight away but the evening!

Just read on a Uk newspaper site. That prices for a 3 night cruise start at £1,000

Until people actually start booking and DCL put the cruise pages live on General Booking Day, any price at the moment is just speculation. There are all sorts of factors which go into a cruise price, number of adults and number of children in a stateroom, location and category of stateroom, length of cruise and departure port.
