You said it, Scottny!!! I was ready to post that most folks here must be far too young to remember the old films from the 40's! Smoking was the thing back then!

I wasn't too fond of the last few days either, but I realize they had to do something because of pre-empted programming because of sports. It'll be nice when things are back on track.

If NBC doesn't want to have their last soap opera bite the dust, something better happen soon to up the ratings.

WHAT??? ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT DAYS??? NO!!! THAT WOULD BE TERRIBLE.

Even with the slow story lines I love that show!

I love it too; it's been my favorite show since the glory days of the 80's. There's always rumors of cancellation but something always happens to keep the show on the air. I haven't heard a thing about a new contract to keep DOOL on past 2009.

I was hoping that ratings might go up with the show being on Soapnet. It's great to catch up there if you miss the network showing. However, Soapnet doesn't treat the show very well. It runs the whole week of shows during the dead of Sunday night/Monday morning. Every Tuesday night Days is taken off for some other show & it's been off on Thursday nights too. Luckily nothing has happened to the morning repeats on Soapnet when they show the prior days episode. Our local cable company switched channels around so now I can't tape Days anymore. Oh well, such is life I guess.

I'm not too young to remember. I love old movies...when that's what I'm looking for. Just not what I want from my soap. I saw where they were going. I just don't think many of us dream like that. I don't care if it was supposed to be corny. I'm just saying I didn't enjoy it. A little of it might have been okay, but it went on and on. Glad it was someone's cup of tea. I just spent most of the time surfing the net hoping it would end.

And I still think the smoking was over-the-top. My DD agreed. Many kids are home for summer vacation and I don't like for scripts to glamorize smoking. I hope I don't offend anyone, but someone on this thread said it was so sexy. Just my two cents - there's nothing sexy about smoking. Most of you will probably but having had cancer, I hate for anything to encourage smoking. I don't mind it as much in the old movies...they didn't know how harmful it was back then. Now we do. Again, hope I don't make anyone mad. I'm not attacking anyone. Just on my soapbox about something I find offensive.

I only watched a little of Monday's episode, so I didn't catch all the smoking, but I do understand where you're coming from with the "glamorizing" smoking and am not offended by your comments.

Not offended at all. My father died of lung cancer and never smoked. I do undertsand it not being shown but in that scenario I do understand it because if you watch the old movies they were just like that.


Now todays episode, I guess the good John has flat hair and the not so nice John (But funnier) has spikey hair. now I am glad I can tell them apart.

I love the flashbaks today.

Nope, not offended here either & I do agree the smoking was much too much! Smoking in the bar scenes would have been enough IMO!

I hope since yesterday's episode ended with "THE END" we're done with the dream sequences... Haven't seen today's but it's on tape to watch later.

You don't think they're going to be done with the "new" John, do you? He's just too good to watch. The writers are giving Mr H some fun stuff to do.

The dream shows were horrible. I just deleted them from the DVR without watching them.

When (the old) John showed up I didn't realize how much I missed him. His face just looks nicer than the new John! I think the new John is funnier but I hate how he keeps pushing Marlena away. Or maybe I just really don't like him with Ava...

I just saw Fridays episod. It's actually getting really good

I think Tony and EJ teaming up together is really a good idea. Now there will be three forces fighting each other.

At the end with Marlena not recognizing John was a good twist. I just hope they don't drag this for years and years.

I think Sami and Lucas are really over this time. I like her and EJ together.

I actually have to save 45 minutes of my night to watch now instead of 10 minutes when I was fast forwarding through so much

Total lurker here but had to come out for a moment--hi Scott! Long time no talk! My dad died of lung cancer also and he never smoked Just another thing we have in common...

And while I'm out I like the "new" John, but HATE his spiky hair. I think it looks ridiculous and would take the old John back just to be rid of it. And I like Chloe and Lucas together, probably because I don't really like either one of them, and Sami and EJ have great chemistry. I have been watching Days for hmmm....let me do the math.........24 years

I "thought" they may have alluded to it when Lexie insisted that she have blood tests done after the "toxic gas" exposure.

When Lexie brought Sami out of the exam room- before she brought EJ back - she said, "Sami's blood tests came back okay... there are no negative effects from the gas." ...It seemed to me like she paused when she said that. ...Or maybe I was just reading too much into it.

Did Sami sleep with Lucas when he got out of jail? (After EJ) ...Could we have another "who's the father" storyline, again?

I am so far behind in watching my recorded shows.

I do know :

That Kate and Daniel had an affair and were talking to Chelsea.

Max and Stephanie were in jail and Nick and his sister went to see them.

Stephano phoned Tony and said he was moving back in. Tony and Anna live there with John now?

Morgan's dad isn't locked in the room anymore, saw he was on the docks with Morgan looking for him...

Marlena is out of the hospital practicing again.

Did I forget anything....

I just saw in Soap Digest that Marlena wants a divorce and she is going to date Trent...ewww And a new person is coming to be Theo's doctor ( maybe this has happened already?)

Supposedly EJ (Stephano's son) killed John. Everyone thought John was dead and we didn't see him, like he left the show. A few months ago John appears in Stephano's lab and they completely wiped out his memory. Marlena was estatic to have her "Love of Her Life" back, but he wasn't the same John. They went back and forth and now recently Marlena said forget it but now John wants to try. He is the new "Evil John". I like him.
