As for my reading, with my Kindle I download about 20 free books a week and read about half of them all the way through. Most are more novellas and take about an hour or so to read. But I can read a regular book in a matter of hours then start on another right away. I can not read more than one at a time. I don't like confusing my book worlds. I also prefer to read a whole series in a row if possible.

My summer internship is almost done. Thank God!! I've been answering phones for the last 2 weeks. Simply because the lady who checks patients in didn't really train me. I guess she's afraid I'll take her job. No one said anything, this is just my take on things. I sit around dreading for the phone to ring. And at the same time I wish it would ring so I wouldn't fall asleep.

Some good news. Since DD is graduating high school next year, I've decided to take her to Cape May, NJ again. This time it'll be over July 4th.

It's ok to say if you did not like the book. I'm the only one I know who didn't like Hunger Games and didn't go past 52 pages. I think Gone Girl was the book my friend mentioned that the author had a twisted mind. I don't know what it's about so don't remember for sure. Maybe she didn't want to ruin the twisted details for me and keep it a surprise.

That's funny the Nook hit you in the head. I'm not sure if reading from a screen would be worse on my eyes/headaches.

I liked the book right up until the end. That's the best summation I can give you without ruining it for you.

I actually have the most basic Nook which employs the EInk technology and is not a backlit screen. Therefore, it is like reading a normal book. It doesn't affect me at all, and I wear contacts. Whereas staring at the computer screen for too long will.

That is excellent. DD7 started the first book but she won't just sit down and read it. She can watch tv, play video games or even play alone with her toys for hours but she doesn't like reading anything long. Sad since I'm such a reader I wanted my kids to be readers too. My oldest was until reading for school sucked the joy out of it for her. Hopefully, she will enjoy it again like I did.

I am sure she'll get back into it again. They have to read so much for school! It's crazy.

Nice. I try to keep it separate as well. But I will basically go from book to book. Finish one, start another. And I love reading a whole series at once. Because then you're really fully immersed in those characters and their world.

I don't read more than 1 at a time either.

So I totally did not expect to spend the last full weekend before Nemo goes back to school sick, but indeed, I am. Miserable. Fever, aches, sleeping a ton. Bleh. Sinus pressure, congestion. I'm popping decongestants and ibuprofen like it's going out of style. Today I feel slightly better but still weak. Big bummer.

So... I FINALLY got the official offer for the supervisor position. I am very happy about it because it came with even more money than originally expected (because the original offer was much lower than other supervisors make and it has to be comparable). But the other co-worker who went for the position is not thrilled. I'm sure he will get over it eventually, it'll just be a speed bump in my transition until then.
